Ok i just got my HIS x1900xt. I got ATi tool, i tried ending both ati services, but one will not end. Any ideas?
you should only have to disable the ati hotkey poller in administrative services.
Can u send me your bios? Please! ;)Quote:

Well thinking it about it.. its either cpu limited... or it may be becasue i have the card in a sinlge 8x pci-e slot....hmm.... Also from stock to 650/750, i gained about 1400 pts...

I found my core clocks higher when I leave the 2nd voltage on default.
I thought I was limited to ~735 on the core, but keeping the VDDCI on default, I was able to clock it up to ~760 :D
I have a gecube x1900xtx I have no issues to 815/900 1.5v and 2.130v but the sucker runs on the warm side no artefacts but the core wont go not 1 mhz more no mater what i do I think this due to power runs 14779 in 05
Hey guys, help me get my X1900XTX run better... I mean im really not happy... only 760\882. I see cores reaching 790s. Im using watercooling. Innovatek G70 lol... the memory wont get any cooling but the gpu does.
With new 6.3 drivers i could do 14,000p in 3DMark2005. Single Core sucks :(

Does anyone know whats safe max voltage for the vddci? My card clocks mem really bad and only gets up to 770 with 1.503 vddci and ~800 with vddci ~1.575 (just tested it quickly last night and am unsure of settings but i think thats what i had it at). Is it worth upping the vddci volts or is that unsafe?
is 1.55v+ safe for core voltage under an MCW55? What about max Vreg volts or ram volts with ramsinks on them and good airflow?
okay, updated with the first overclocking database now that we have a small group of contributors. PLEASE, continue to add. Every week or so I will update the database.
Hmm i overclocked with ATITool and it was so weird... sometimes it benched on 760 and sometimes it hanged when first screen in 3dmark game up :S
Though at DEFAULT videocard clocks I was able to get 12,575p in 3DMark2005.

My Powercolor X1900XT has problem with mems. I can't use even default XTX clocks (775). Nothing helps - raising/lowering voltages, changing drivers etc. If I set ie. 760, 3DMarks 03/05 runs great, but raising clock to ~770 makes artifacts and freez. IT"S IMPOSSIBLE that this mem runs so bad  I'm using Ati Tool 025 beta14. Any ideas?
I had an X1800XL with an AquagratiX 1800 (for water cooling) on it, if i change it with an X1900XT will I be able to mount it either? are they identical?

I dont think its the ram, i have bj11 on mine and it strugglest to clock to 775. Like i said before, upping the vddci increases max mem clocks on my card. Thats why i think the vddci is related to the memory controller and its a weak memory controller thats keeping the ram clocks low.
Hmmm, I'll try incrase vddci. But I think, that can't help...
I have another idea. That's very high VDDCI temps - ca.56C at 2D and ca.70C at 3D. Is that normal?
Without a fan, that temp is normal.

sig update needed
Hi all, I'm new on here so just want to say hello first!
I've just got an x1900xt and have been playing around with it. Using CCC I can OC to the max settings no problem. Using ATI Tool when I set the voltage to anything higher (Such as 1.3v) I can then get even higher clocks but I get a strange pulsing sound coming from the card when I scan for artifacts. It runs completely stable, no artifacts and the pulsing only occurs when using the ATI Tool scan function, not during games or 3DMark.
Has anyone else come across this? It's a sapphire card so a good make.
Cheers, G

i think sumthing aint right with my card,
with the VGPU set at 1.575 i can only hit 730 max[anything higher will cause a dark black screen in 3d mark 05 and then a sudden black screen]
and my MVDDC 2.150V,MVDDQ 2.150V will allow me 840
VDDCI is at 1.500V
anyone can help me out?

Whenever I up the voltage on the GPU pass 1.50v I can't get the same mem clocks. It artifacts like crazy. Could it be that my PSU is crapping out on me??
Edit: Now, it doesn't like anything above 840 on the mem. Is Sapphire BIOS better than ATis??
they are identical as far as I know.
can you guys loop the 3Dmark06 with your overclock at all? mine is only clocked up to 700/830 1.475/2.13/2.13/1.51 but 3Dmark06 didn't finish the overnight loop and I woke up to a black screen and had to reboot. Though gaming BF2 for couple hours is not a problem and the gpu temperature is only around or below 60
Well, I guess I can't really complaint since I do 720/828 @ 1.400/2.101/2.101/1.500 with temps 31c/38c !
Edit1: I just figured out how to OC my card. I leave the GPU voltgae @ 1.400v, but change the VDDC/VDDQ/VDDCI to 2.201/2.160/1.515, respectively to achieve 873, then after it's set, I go back and raise the the gpu to whatever voltage I want for it and raise the core accordingly. I will post results later. I knew card had a little left.
Edit2: Results have been posted on reply #251. I'm not sure if anyone else uses this method to OC their card. Also, I'm using ATi Tool 25b14 only.
Just got 2x1900XT's. Hope this works on both.
Is there a way to do this within Windows? Where are the instuctions..
This is the max I think my cards got on the stock cooler!!!:D

darn i need to work on my 1900XTX man,
just dun have the time nowadays.
nice stuff u got there dude ^^
my xtx is artifacting like crazy as soon as i go around 675MHz.
So my question is, what's happening to people when they hit their cards core limit, are they getting a few artifacts and then lowering the clock a bit and then all is fine, or are they getting what i'm getting - complete corruption even after i lower the clocks and voltage back down, and this is in windows as well, all my icons are messed up.
i'm
for me I don't get aritifacts at all. If I push the card too hard I simply get a hard lock up or a vpu recover where my monitors go into standy mode with a solid black screen forcing me to reboot the system upon which al is fine again.
I can see a normal XT having issues on a core that high as they aren't normally known to go quite as high as an XTX but your XTX should do that fine? I have to ask what is your volts at when trying to achieve that core and what program are you using to overclock your card? ATI's overdrive tab allows you to go as high as 689 on the core and still be under warranty. If CCC is having issues getting your core I would suspect something is wrong with your card and it should be warranted. Using CCC I got to 689 np and with atitool, with 1.400v on the core I am running now at 685 clean and stable after looping 3dmark 01 and 06 for a couple hours as well as letting atitool scan for artifacts for a couple hours too.
How long have you had the card? When has this started happening?
I've just got the card now and have been playing with it. I'm using ATI Tool beta 14 with 1.425v vgpu. I'll try the CCC instead and see if it holds up ok.
small update, using overdrive i could crank it up to 689 with no issues, it passed a few runs of the Doom III timedemo , hmmmmm i seem to have a real problem in ATI Tool.
Hello peoples.. i have just switch my X1800XT for a X1900XTX... really nice my first result on air impressive me..
X1900XTX one hour installed air cooling, 3D 05, 690/800 : 12'438
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1914641
my ask.. with the X1800XT, we have need decrease the voltage on memory for have more of 900mhz ... is same with the X1900XTX?--
Other what voltage are fine for try get 800/900mhz??
( watercooled of course)
really impressive difference between the X1800XT and the X1900 in performance.. really nice..)
Is it just me or is it that VDDCI seems to be some sort of voltage gatekeeper for MVDDC, MVDDQ & VGPU? I can do:
VGPU 1.425
MVDDC 2.108
MVDDQ 2.108
VDDCI 1.486
core 720/mem 832.5
On 3d06 FPS is flip flopping all over the place, meaning that FPS is consistently changing every second on the second.
If I increase VDDCI to 1.491V FPS is more stable, meaning that for a few seconds it will remain steady then either goes up and hold for a few more seconds or maybe dips down but still holds for a few seconds. I am still experiementing at lower clocks for now. However, has anyone noticed this? I also noted if I try to do VDDCI 1.500 (at the voltage & core/mem settings noticed earlier) it will simply lock up in game.
I had the same issue. 3dmark2006 was freezing overnight, while i could game for hours and not have a single hiccup. I had to bump the core voltage from 1.425 to 1.45 for 3dmark2006 to stop freezing. This is at 698/792.Quote:

After having bench at 772/891, i decided increase a little bit the speed memory and core.. i launch at 802/900
1.575V,2.25, 2.21 and 1.5V.. during all the bench i have thnk kill my score.. the peak of FPS was incrediblly high, last test with 190FPS ( when the snake attack the flying boat..), peak really higher in the place i look in general for see if there's a prob or not.. and the score appears.. really under the score i was having.. i ahve think have forget the AA or anything else.. it seems not ... any idea? Is this can be caused by a instability?not enough too much voltage? But the 3 benchs have look more speed..
I put WC on my x1900xt

Hey guys, got my X1900XT on monday and put it under watercooling, idle 32C, load 38C. So far my best clocks are 766mhz/845mhz with the voltages at 1.575/2.15/2.15/1.5. My best score so far is 13146 in 3dmark05.
Id just like to again bring up the issue of the disparity in mem clocks between the XT and XTX versions of these cards. We have determined that they both have the exact same 1.1ns chips rated at 900mhz. I still have yet to understand why I cannot get the mem to 870mhz+.
When setting the mem clocks with ATi tool strange things happen. Sometimes setting to 840mhz will cause artifacting on the desktop and crash the system, other times I can run 845mhz 100% clean and stable in 3dMark05. None of this adds up. I currently have active cooling on the mem so I dont think its a cooling issue, but im going to spend some time today mounting an extra fan just to be sure.
Ok I received my Sapphire X1900XT yesterday, checked for BJ11 and flashed to the X1900XTX ATI BIOS found at techpowerup. And the card artifacts and hangs in the "LOADING" screen in 3dk05 and ATITool Artifact Scanner. At XTX stock speeds :stick:
Before flashing, I tried to midly (640/750) overclock with ATI Tool, making 2D and 3D profiles, disabling both ATI services, setting voltages up to 1.475, and a bunch of memory voltages (from 1.996 to 2.201). I left VDCCI untouched as I've read it is ok at stock. But as soon as I try to open a 3D app (even the Artifact tester) the computer hangs and the screen is full of artifacts.
Also tried with Overclocker and CCC and the same happens. Seems like my card doesn't like ANY overclock. The same happens when I try to only overclock memory or core separately. I'm using Catalyst 6.3, will try later with 6.2 and OmegaDriver 6.3.
Any ideas? the card has BJ11 and I flashed to XTX without [flashing] problems. As always, the card is incredible 11.690 in 3dk05 at stock from 8400 with the 7800GT but seeing people getting to 720/850 with stock cooler I'm a bit dissapointed :(
//EDIT: Forgot to say Aquamark3 runs fine but hangs when it ends and has to show the score.
//EDIT2: I've done some tries at lunchtime. Raised VGPU up to 1.550 and the core gets to 660, more it artifacts -> crash if I don't cancel the Scan Artifact window really fast. Raised mem up to 2.2/2.136/1.5 the memory gets to 735, more -> hangs directly. Can it be my card is this little OCable? I've got the option to change it for a XTX + price difference in 7 days. So I think I'll play with it the weekend and see what happens.
sapphire 1900xt@xtx this is may score.with w c.volts 1.57-2.1

I am sure it is related to memory timings

i would think a bios flash to XTX would do it, but that doesnt seem to be the case.

I'm having a lot of problems OCing my Sapphire X1900XT. The best so far is 705 (which I can assume is not a bad OC) but the memory won't go over 740. I've tried with low and high volts, but it seems that's the wall. I've checked it's BJ11 so maybe temps are the problem?. Yesterday applied AS5 to the core, and I think I'll buy a VF900.
Anyone thinks that would help me to get the memory higher? I would be happy with 700/800 with ATI Tool.
Aquamark3 runs fine (really smooth :D) but it crashes when shows the score. IIRC I've got the patch long ago so I don't know what causes it to crash. Futuremarks, Oblivion, FEAR, etc runs 100% stable.
mine was like that too for the first day i had it, i dont know if i just hit a sweet spot with mine or what, but i started out only getting around 600/750ish and it would crash. i just let it find max till i hit 20-30mhz up stopped it and saved repeat. this thing is still confusing me lolQuote:

If i run stock XTX bios. I will get artifacts within 30 min. It just gets to hot. 1.25 helped me to make it. 1.4 is overkill. Speedspot of the core them here was 1.3-1.35v.
I think I'll try with your voltages einCe, but I think I've tried all of them, it's been a testin weekend :D. Never got VDDCI to 1.510, maybe that's the key.
I need 1.550 to get 705 on the core tho, but with AS5 and fan control set properly (IIRC I settled it at >50c 27%, >60c 60%, >70c 70%, >80c 100% which rarely happens). I highly recommend to apply AS5. Before I got up to 93c, now it's strange to get >80c.
And in the mems I've tried from 1.996 up to 2.2XX with bad results. What gets me nuts is the fact that +5mhz on the ram makes the comp to crash, having to reset it. Makes the whole OC process a pita :(
Overall the card is absolutely stunning, and getting +4200 points in 3dk05 with a simple card change is unbelievable. My max with 7800GT 491/1250 was 8400, with X1900XT 705/739 is 12.640  But the OC way of working is really difficult :D
yeah trying to oc these things is like trying to get an old nintendo to work. you spend a half an hour messing with it only to see it start up the game and freeze.Quote:

If you want higher mem freqeuncy it would be best to use the Overclocker tool. It could get close to 900mhz when I used this instead of ATI Tool as it apparently slackens your memory timings.
I think I prefer tighter timings with ATI Tool, but 740 on the mem seems like a bit low. From what I can see everywhere people gets 800+ with stock cooler and ATI Tool.Quote:

For normal use I have vddci ~1.51 and mem at 775. Has anyone definitively found out what the vddci does yet?
Ok I've talked with my reseller and they accept the change for the XTX paying shipping and price difference. So for 55€ more I'll take the Sapphire X1900XTX and see what happens. Once I've dig 500€, what's 55 more? :D:D
Mursaat perhaps you know it now.. but for don't have the AM3 crash at the end of bench.. you need patch it
- replace the dll in data of AM3 with this one..
But AM3 is not really the best bench for show performance of the X1900XTX..
dang... well ive got the clocks up to 766/845 on my X1900XT on wc, happy with that I guess. but i just cant understand why the RAM wont do the same clocks as the XTX. maybe ill never know, lol.Quote:

Has anyone elese had this isue or know the fix??
thanks, Joe
Ring bus = mem controller. If the mem controller can't scale, the memory won't scale.Quote:

I have that slight chug as well when you go over the first hill. I have had that on all my ATI cards to be honest.
