Word does travel fast. I was working taking a call and after the call I was gonna place and order but they were all sold out of the 512mb sticks!!! ahhaha funny... Guess Ill wait until the new shipment arrives now...thanks again transam for your wonderful test...

Keep checking, a little while ago they were showing the 256 sticks as sold out and now they are back in stock. Same thing might happen with the 512.
I guess maybe they have to send someone out to the warehouse to do a count or something???

3.2 might get you somewhere, but you need something closer to a stable 3.4 to make this fly, if not, id stick with tccd.

Esdee, how long have you had this theory about the UTT blank? I have been hearing rumours all over the place right around the same time ocz released vx. I heard here and other forums some very vague info about Twinmos and some names like Winbond and Infineon and really inexpensive ram that does 2-2-2 @240mhz+ at crazy volts. I called all of the 3 aforementioned companies on the phone. I've been holding off on the Twinmos for a while because they said they were going to be using the winbond utt on the newer speed premium. I figured waiting would allow some time for the older stock to clear. It looks like it was worth the wait. I just hope ocz doesn't get pissed off about this. Who knows? maybe it's just a coincidence that it performs like VX and ocz uses something completely different? I don't have those round circles on my ocz vx, so either ocz found a way to hide the circles during fab. or it's just different ics altogether. The point is both companies have great ram that does 2-2-2 timings at high speeds and we have everything to gain. I wonder how that dude feels who bough my Mushkin level II Bh-5 on ebay that only did 2-2-2@235mhz for $360 feels when he finds out about this? :D

the same machine is used by many companies, hell... winbond probably sold theirs to another company when they stopped making dram, or... whoever took them over (infineon?) is using those machines.
difference between speed premium and twinmos/twinmos is only that speed premium are rated 4,4ns and twinmos/twinmos 5ns ;) but exactly the same chips...
alex from hardwareluxx.de working for twinmos said there that all new speed premium should be winbond UTT.

Exactly, Winbond is making chips for Infineon. So why wouldn't Winbond make chips for others? ;) And that picture of the vx ic's. that has the circles. I can assure you mine doesn't have the circles, so something is very strange there. I was one of the 1st to get the VX, and no dimples, is this a later stick maybe? It has the same date as the twinmos I bought. How would some have the circles and some do not? Maybe they were trying to blanket the circles in the begining, but the price and hassle wasn't worth it so they stopped? Anyway, it doesn't matter, what really matters is that the 512 sticks we ordered do just as good.
i think OCZ was trying to hide the circles as thats classical winbond ;)
Another thing I noticed is that the OCZ VX shown in the last Link ( http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...id=22041&stc=1 ) has 0446 as a date (same as trams am) and has a 50 at the end of the chip code (like esdee's 50D chips). Again this might only be a coincidence, but it could also mean that trans am's memory is rated faster than the OCZ VX. However, OCZ may be being conservative with the ratings.
I've heard alot saying that the 2 dimples are not only found in windbond chips but also several others (can't name any right now I just woke up) because they are a marking given by a certain type of chip-making machine (sort of like the cicles of flashing found on plastic army men).

the final test to see if this is the same chips as VX it to test on an intel platform and see how far they get at 2-2-2-5. if they dont go very far 220-235, try at 3-2-2-5 if they reach speeds of 250 and above then these are the same chips :)

OCZ VX has been optimized for A64 by their own statements. It could very well be the same chips, just simply a difference in implementation that allows these to run better on an Intel rig than the VX runs on Intel.
Guys I couldn't read from the beggining of the topic. But there is an important info about the twinmos memories which contain winbond chips.
As you should see there is a big sticker on the right side of the memory. On this sticker there is a p/n code. If this code ends with "AA4T" then it should be winbond bh-5 or bh-6. This info is only valid for DDR400 Twinmos memories.
I have tried about 4 sticks of 512mb twinmos ddr400 which is AA4T. But it isn't marked as 50D on the chips, they are marked as 60D. Just above this 60D "-50" is marked as well.
These chips that I have tried does about 270Fsb 2-2-2-6 1T with 3.7vdimm on A64 754 rig.
I also tried 1 stick of 256mb Twinmos ddr400 again AA4T. This memory's chips were as well 60D marked. And it did round about the same.
I almost forgot, the memories which I saw were all M.tec marked ;)

I was talking about seeing memory that´ll run 1gb at higher numbers than 270mhz (I believe I saw bh5 doing so on a Intel rig "1gb"), Which is max we have seen from any VX, twinmos so far. Hipro5's sticks (see CPU-Z screenshot) and trans am's sticks both have the "AA" in the product codes.
Trans am's sticks are not M.tec, but labeled TwinMOS.

I was told by a guy that works at a Fry's that there were some 512 sticks of the TwinMOS PC2700 with M.tec chips that matched the descriptions and I was trying to make sure it was worth pursuing. They have them for $90 per stick so if anyone is near a Fry's you might want to drop in and see what they have in stock. Outpost.com doesn't have any listed.

I think that it isn't coincidence that the chips that didn't do very well previously in this thread's date end with a D while the good chips end with a 4.
and that there is another S/n that ends in AADT (one on TwinMOS's site, techPowerup!'s review)...
Could this be that this reoccuring 4 is signaling that these are BH-4? (probably not, but i have to come to a conclusion from my findings)
could it be something other than bh-x or ch-x?

The 44/50/60 number on the chip itself is not related to the AA4T vs 44DT on the product number (which is on the sticker and not the ram).
Both the PC2700 and the PC3200 have modules with the product/part number ending in the AA4T...which appear to be the ones we all covet.

So is the consensus then that even though they are PC2700, they are worth a shot if they are of the AA4T variety? I have PM'ed the fella at OC Forums asking to check the product number but have yet to receive a response. He said his store had nine of the 512MB sticks in stock.
im going to order that PC2700 tonight, just gathering up a few other things, the PC3200 for the same price is AADT so im going to give the pc2700 a try, getting 2x256...
if this outclocks my 2x256 BH-5 that i bought from mushkin for $130 last month im going be pretty happy....
i might even pick up 2x512 if thats the case.

I think you are doing right by going with the PC2700 and the AA4T part # over the PC3200 with the AADT ending number.
I'm waiting to hear about the sticks from Fry's and will post any info that I get on them. Hopefully before you order (just in case). Of course, you wait too long and those will be sold out as well. :)
from my understanding thats not how the latency rating works, from my understanding, lower latency ram has more clock potential... everest latency rating depend on clockspeed IIRC

That is the link at newegg to the PC2700, however, while looking it up I came across something that will be of interest to those that ordered the PC3200 Speed Premium in the 512 sticks. Those don't have the AA4T, but instead have the AADT coding at the end of the parts #. They may not be the Winbond UTT chips, according to the information that has been posted here today. Hopefully the re-stock will use the Winbond chips.
this was 9x267 and 9x240 single channel. Bigtoe's shows 42.2 at 260mhz. on the same board. he is 2-2-2-0. mine is 2-2-2-10. also I have everything after tras on auto. He might be a64 tweaking. This is on windows xp with pretty much everything running. no tweaks here.Quote:

Since Winbond made these for Infineon to begin with, you would think that you could find it in their ram (the sound you here is that of a thousand overclockers headed for newegg again as we all go off looking for Infineon based ram). Alex (of TwinMOS) stated it was in Kingston and other value ram and a picture of some KVR was posted around page 4 or 5 of this thread, but so far no one has actually spotted it elsewhere. Of course, I know that I've been fixated on TwinMOS myself and could have easily overlooked another brand (other than KVR which I have looked for).
What you are looking for is the well known and easily recognized Winbond chip design (without their logo).
