ASUS AX800PRO VIVO flashed successfully
I successfully flashed this model using the modified flash tool and the modified 16 pipe PRO VIVO BIOS. I verified that I had 16 active pipelines, and I saw a jump in the ATI Tool 3d View from 115 fps to over 320 fps. I flashed back to my original bios immediately since the temp went to over 75 C almost immediately with stock cooling. I believe I need to flash with the Gigabyte flash tool back to my original BIOS, since I reset the card to its original configuration (12 pipes, 115 fps) with the modified tool.
nvidia is rock solid hands down
:fact: hey guys,
i was working on my buddys p4 3.2 775 comp,with his 6 month old x800xl.
few words on ati cards for all to bash.for 1 i have used both companies over the years and i have to say i have never seen a company(ati)ask for there paying customers to pay $20(usa)dollars for tech support over the phone..riot..anyway the x800xl s supposdly runs at 400MHz, adding up to a peak texel fill rate of 6,400 Megatexels/second (16 pixel pipelines x 400MHz graphics core equals 6,400). This figure is 12% higher than NVIDIA’s GeForce 6800 GT, whose peak fill rate is 5,600 Megatexels/sec on paper.ATI pairs the R430 core up with 256MB of GDDR3 memory operating at 500MHz, which is the same clock speed NVIDIA clocks their GeForce 6800 GT’s memory at.now all specs close to or the same on paper,i currently have bfg 6800gt(agp),and bfg 6800ultra here in box(pci-e)i bought off my buddy for $250.having the 6800gt now for few months i can say its rock solid hands downruns all games i play quake4,bf2,hl2.no issues buggy driver fixes etc, unlike ati on the other hand i installed bf2 for my pal so we could play together, and lemme tell u how horrible that card is(x800xl).16 pipes...plz more like 8 it felt like,my freind is like dude...whats up with this toilet..im like dude its not nvidia.hes like what gives.i explained that Radeon HAD its days of glory when the 9700 Pro totally annihilated the GeForce4 line. By the time Nvidia released its GeForce FX 5900 Ultra behemoth, ATI already had the Radeon 9800 Pro on the market and the 9800XT on the horizon. By holding a product-release advantage over Nvidia, ATI was able to leverage its performance lead for an entire GPU generation.still offering weak buggy drivers still won that generation.differnt story now 7800gtx\gt vs 520 core plz ...whatever man.point is if your a ati fanguy stay away from x800xl...total crap performance, and 16 pipes.plz u gotta be kidding me.barely 30 fps bf2,q4,settings med.forgot to metion he runs ocz powerstream 520 as well as i(with my 6800gt)but i get 60-90 fps in the same 2 games settings hi.and heres the funniest thing of all dont u ppl know that the whole 520 core holdup with sli stolen technology from ati now the cornyfire(crossfire)they fried a top secret number of 520 cores trying to beat the 7800gt\gtx sli mode scores.ya lets turn up the core clock speed and mabye turn it up more to keep up with stock nvdia cards....what a joke.all our games are simply played better on nvidia cards not by some mysterious reasons or luck, its that nvidia stays in close contact with game developers like id,raven, havoc engine,ea etc...to simply build a better card revolving around performance for the infrastructure of the games we play now and games to come were ati trys to play catch up as it stole sli tech from nvidia and COPIED IT calling it the crossfire.now before the bashing begins, let me say one thing,im sure there are here and i seen many times ati comps simply romp scores like 3dmark etc with immense amounts of time tuning, tweaking etc to compare and even beat some nvidia based comps but dollar for dollar with stock or even overclocked cars nvidia simply flat out runs better on games without all the guess work or hours of support that u have to pay for(lmao)if your buying a card now for under $370 u can get a 7800gt(20pipes) that will utterly smash any ati card that comes close to that price range with simply putting it in your mobo and running whatever games u want period.and btw the nvdia 8000(top secret)will not only destroy the 520 core but stay on top like nvidia has been doing :fact:
