What program are u using to change timings in windows ?

Hi guys am getting a post code of 25 and voltage is not helping anytime I try ram at 2600 MHz. I read Rajas guide and it says Imc may not be capable. This is with the new gskill trident x 8 gb kit as well as a 4 gb kit of gskill flares. I need 1.280 to run 4.5 ghz stable. Any help? Any other voltages to play with to get this going or to get CPU vcore down?

I started 2600 test with relax settings on a 3700K that has crappy imc on air (max out @ 2700)...

Bios set:

Load gamers oc profile
Mem. @ 2600
PLL overvolt enabled
Maximus tweak mode 2
Memory preset @ load raw Mhz. profile
Enhanced speedstep disabled
All others settings on auto

Much happier with this one. Able to do 4.5 Ghz as a daily driver at around 1.170V, on load a bit lower. Great chip. Vid is a bit higher than my last one, but that needed 1.275-1.28 for the same speed and ram. And that was ten degrees hotter in Linx.

I read posts mentioning Silver Arrow will touch/block the 1st PCIe, even Noctua D14 being really close to it.

Any idea about Phanteks or other nice HSFs? :D

Noctua NH-D14 fits, but you should insulate the fan clips so that if they touch some part of your GPU, it won't cause a problem. Use some electrical tape or something like that around them.

I am having a problem with random black screen with this new beta bios. Seems like its identifying the IGP atleast according to the device manager. Can someone help me out?

Multi monitor off in bios, but a lot of options to play with iGPU are now showing in bios, which were not there before.

Better do a real test iso relaying on the Tweakit output Sergio...

reducing TRSSR to 4 will give you a far bigger real time increase in bandwith ( check with Pi and AIDA ) you will love it ! :up:

guys the M5G BIOS has now only IDE and not like the MIVE IDE / COMPATIBLE that was what made HDDERASE for SSD work, now doesnt work at all, even on the MIVE the last BIOS has the same issue i had to switch to older to erase my SSD's

I use it for 3 days but i dont have any issues like this till now.

Btw, is there any guide for ram overclockin on z77? I have ripjaws X 2133c9 that can run at rated speed with 1.59v and 2200 9-11-9-28 1T at 1.64v everything else at stock settings. I would like to try the next step at 2400. Any reccomendations?

Do you have a folder named "AsusFanControlService" inside the "Asus" folder, on program files? Look at Administrative Tools, Services, for the path to executable.

I had a problem like this, and I fix it this way. If you don't have this folder, create, and copy the folder content from "Fan Xpert 2" from your Asus AI SUITE II installation folder (extracted) and check if the path to the executable is right.

Then confirm if the service is running, on the Administrative Tools.

Jesus ASUS i did a deep research on registry after uninstalling and ALL services KEEP runing after uninstalling the soft AI SUIT II, also ALL KEYS are left in windows registry not clean at all, please improve this software, every time it fails i have to remove manual ALL services and entries on registry to make it work, for some reason the most bugged program is FAN CONTROL, the others goes OK

please check this and provide us a fix

so I decided to go cold on the cpu and mems on a brand new board last night and for some reason no matter what multi I set I only get 35X max, pretty :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty as I have never experienced this on the other MVG, thoughts?

I have tried a number of different bios' , 0903, 0904, 0086, and 0881 I believe all with the same result, everything is drying so no idea if it is still doing this on air, no problems before the cold. . .

bios chip damaged l0ud happened to me not on this but on the MIVE, did the other M5G u have is ok ? if so take the bios chip and put it on this, if not ask ASUS to send you one, i did

ME corruption

1. Acquire a USB Thumb Drive
2. Format the USB drive with a FAT32 file system
3. Download this M5G.CAP http://www.datafilehost.com/download-16152cd8.html
for your motherboard and place the file on the USB drive
4. Place the USB drive into the ROG Connect white USB Port
5. Hold the Rog connect button down for 5 seconds and an amber light near the BIOS chips will flash for some time and when flashing has stopped the BIOS has been successfully updated..
6. verify ratio works
7. can normally flash to bios of choice

Would GameFirst II software work on Gene? I think the NIC hardware is pretty much the same...
By the way, it would be nice if M5G got a few updates in the Download section, M5F seems to be sporting more recent driver and utility versions.

well I thought ME corruption as well, so I pulled out the other MVG and lo and behold same shi(f)t, so I just ended up reinstalling Windows and problem fixed, however I will do this flash procedure on the other board if the issue is not cured, however I believe it was just a corrupted install and I was being lazy and not thinking of the obvious.

I can't get Mem TweakIT to work with this board. I already updated to latest bios 0903 but still no love. I have version 1.01.1, i can't find version 1.01.5, does anyone know where i can download it?

Nothing there in the tertiary settings to tweak... Well, those other timings with latency 5 and 3 could improve Memory Copy a little if lowered.

Go for secondary timings, try lowering tRRD and tRFC, then tRTP and tWTR. If you lower few of them (secondary and tertiary) you just might make it.

What if your memory voltage? Are you comfortable in setting it higher?

Thanks guys, i tried the one Dumo posted and it works fine. Version 1.01.1 didn't show any numbers, just blanks squares. Gonna play around with it this week, the board is real sweet but bios has so many settings it's gonna take a lifetime to get to learn them. :)

thanks a lot for the tips but seems the most i can get of this Team X 2400CL9, even at 1.75 wont pass memtest with TRRSR = 4 setting that its amazing but just for bench

ahhh PSC is strong this Team X are Samsung IC

I can game, but I won't call it 24/7 stable, at least not yet.

Thats a nice kit you have, none of my 4gb sticks will do those secondary timings at 4.

If you havent already, you should try the 5ghz IvyBridge 32m challenge. With XP and a good copy waza, that kit should put you in the 6:19.XXX range.

How you finding running Asus turboV evo and Aida64? I had to completely un-install AI suite as it was causing polling clashes with Aida64 and making the PC unstable. In fact the pc would often trip its OVP and shut down??

hi mate

well if you read my posts back i had a HELL with AI SUITE II i ended doing ALL MANUAL at the registry like this

1) UNINSTALL COMPLETELY AI SUITE 2

2) REBOOT

3) enter REGEDIT and DELETE ALL ASUS keys Except those that are for the ASUS SOUNDABLASTER

4) REMOVE service there are 4

before STOP THEM

ASUS Com Service real name asComSvc
ASUS HM Com Service real name asHmComSvc
ASUS System Control Service real name AsSysCtrlService
AsusFanControlService real name AsusFanControlService

open a DOS command and type sc delete "asComSvc" this for each service

5) DELETE program files the ASUS dir, if it dont let you is that u didnt stop or delete the services

6) REBOOT

7) install AI SUITE again


PLEASE take your time NO KEY should be on registry or things will crap out easy, i told ASUS to improve this software as once you hit uninstall look at all the crap that leaves...hopefully i can lead with this stuff

AIDA will not trouble with you anymore, use latest beta
