GDDR5 is wonderfull, & ATI's AA algorythme need low amount of Vram.
With same quantity of ram onboard with 4x-8x AMD win about memory, if buffer need a bit more than on board memory on nvidia, speed on nvidia fall down quickely. On ATI's boards memory usage of AA is low, and many time don't use less the whole memory, and in this case, the gpu can easily AA with a very low loss of perf.
I play evry source games with my 5870 on a 24" with evrything maxed out, including AA8x over 100fps and i love this ^^
