Does performance-pcs ship parts to Canada?
Update & Thanks for the advice...
Performance-PCS has great customer service and I managed to resolve my issue... I would like to place an order within the next few days, but I'm having a difficult time deciding on what to buy. Too many options, but that's never really a bad thing.
I received a shipment from them last week and noticed they had left out one of my UN mounting brackets. So I sent them an email explaining the situation. They promptly emailed me back with an apology and overnighted me the missing part... and threw in some BP black sparkle barbs to boot. Heh, I'm not sure if that was supposed to be swag (since I had ordered quite a few matching rotaries with the original order), or if was just another mistake. Anyways, great customer service.
Received my order from PPCs on March, 30. One of 80 mm Xigmatek fans had some white stains on its blades (looks like glue used to secure the LEDs in place) E-mailed them about the problem the next day and the only things I received from them till now are 2 letters:
The first:
Hello
Sorry to hear this. Since it would cost too much to send back it would be best to ask Xigmatek on how to solve. I have copied them on this email.
Sam, (Xigmatek)
Can you help?
Best Regards,
Customer Service, Performance-PCs.com
In 5 days I emailed them again, stating that haven't received any response from Xigmatek and asking for a replacement or refund. The response was as follows:
Hello
the problem is you would have to RMA this back here and pay for return shipping (we dont cover RMA shipping on International orders) and so you can see it will cost more shipping then the fan is worth. So that is why we are seeing if Xigmatek can help.
Will email them again.
Best Regards,
Customer Service, Performance-PCs.com
Tomorrow will be 5 days since I received the second reply from PPCs and still I can't hear anything neither from them, nor from Xigmatek :cussing:
^^^ I LOL'd :lol2: :ROTF:
Sounds to me like P-PCs is looking out for you, and that the crappy CS is actually coming from Xigmatek. I mean really now, would you prefer to have P-PCs say "sure, pack up the fans, send them back (at your cost) and we'll take care of you"? I wouldn't if I were where you are. Hell, I'd bet your closer to Xigmatek than they are. I poked around on their site (Xig) and saw a review from a Ukraine site, maybe get in touch with that reviewer and see if you can get a Customer Service E-mail address and start poking them yourself, it's not right what they seem to be doing.
Yeah, I hope they truly do :yepp:
Would you link me to that review ? I can't find it  Seems it really is the time to start poking Xigmatek support by myself.Quote:

P.S. I know one person from a russian forum, who experienced problems with Enzotech products he ordered from P-PCs. He emailed P-PCs, they passed it on to Enzo and they (Enzotech) just sent him replacement parts, without RMAing defective ones. In my case, it looks like either Xigmatek, or P-PCs are unwilling to help :(
I should of ordered from Performance pc. I just purchased some stuff from PETRA SHOP and noticed afterwards that it said, that they won't be shipping stuff after 4/8/10- 4/17/10 cause of spring break. and the reason i ordered from there was cause i saw the same exact thing on the sidewinder site. wth!? are they the same store? damn it... so pissed i got to wait so long now. and i guess i'm assed out trying to cancel the order at petra since nobody going to be there...:down:
For some reason Xigmatek thinks reviews are "news" because that's where they put all the reviews of their products.

There's no name on the review that I could tell but someone at ITC.ua should have some kind of e-mail address to contact them. . .or, you could try contacting Xigmatek through their "contact us" page. It doesn't look like it's set up exactly for this kind of customer service but, it might be able to get some kind of dialog going between you and them. They have an office in Germany that they list a tel # for, might be your best option if you can speak German.

GL and HTH:up:
If what you say is true, looks like I won't be buying from Petra anymore either. What a shame. :shakes:
I ordered sum stuff from them this week, they sure are fast getting it out the door and to me...
I alway order from P-PC's first; of course it helps that they are only a county or two away and all my orders show up next day. Customer service has always been good also.
After a good streak I had 2 consecutive shipping problems with PPCs. Not a happy camper.
First order, shipped the wrong QDC fitting. I emailed them back with photos and they offered to include the correct fitting in my next order; not worthwhile to ship back the incorrect one. Okay fair enough. I ordered some other things and left a note to include the correct fitting. Hopefully they packed it correctly and I get what I need, I have yet to receive this package.
Next order, ordered 2 LED strip things and 2 Scythe 92/100 slim fans (SY1012SL12M). Opened it up to today to find they packed 2 Scythe 120mm slim fans (SY1212SL12M). I've emailed PPCs and now I'm waiting for their reply.
To be fair I've always had good shopping experiences with PPCs, including their customer service (to date hundreds of orders, I don't want to know exactly how many...). They have always been responsive to emails and quick to resolve problems. But their shipping department needs to get their eyes checked and get new glasses or something. These mistakes are slowing me down. At least I'm building for myself, what about others who build to order for their customers? Unacceptable. :(
lol i just made the same exact order at performance pc as i did in petra shop. but with next day delivery. I guess i'm going to have alot of extra parts..
When you add the products to your cart there is a big paragraph up the top to say they won't be shipping till the 19th, so it's not "their" fault.
PTS and SW are both away because from what I can gather it's Spring break over there, "small shop owners" (Unlike PPC) are usually only 1 of a few who work at the shop, they need a break after months of hard work! PPC have multiple employees so they can afford to go on a holiday without ANYONE noticing.
well it sounds like p-pcs is trying to jip you to be honest, yes it would cost to much to send it back, but why cant they send you a new fan?? fans are cheap and cheap to ship I see no reason for them to email xigmatch especially when a company of that size is involved. No one will convince me p-pcs doesnt have an extra xigmatch fan on hand. If they thought it could be resolved through xigmatech they would send you a fan and have xigmatch send them one, but sounds like you are getting the run around imo.
Well, I've had the exact issue w/PPC's. They sent me broken stuff, I lost out. Because too inexpensive of stuff to send back. I've heard the same story's before as well.
My policy is I don't buy the inexpensive stuff from PPC's. They have great stock, usually in stock. And it's a decent shop, but they screwed me on a some small item's before. It's cost them alot more.
I've had nothing but great experiences with Performance PCs. It's usually a tossup between them and sidewinder for me but PPC ships USPS which manages to get to my place in 2 days so my order turnaround is lightning fast for pretty cheap shipping.
Don't get me wrong, I do buy from them, more spendy items. No major problems.
Along with the fact that I get along with Hank it's delivery times that make my decisions.
I can order from him on a wednesday night, get it shipped out USPS Priority and it's here saturday. I'm east coast and most suppliers are west coast and most of them use UPS Ground which is a full week to me from day it's shipped.
Hank is 2 days.
Ive heard many a horror story about PPCs, most of them only start once CS is involved. The one time I have ordered from them they shipped out very slowly (like 2+ days packing time) but they did get everything correct in my order.
Sidewinder, Jab-tech, and frozenCPU are my preferred choice because of location. They are always 2 day shipping for me.
Well, I'm in the process of moving my computer to a new case and have needed new bits and pieces to make the move easy.
I bought what I could from Sidewinder....great service, good prices, quick shipping. Would have ordered more but didn't carry everything I needed, unfortunately.
PPC's was the next stop. Three orders placed over two weeks. Every time, the order went out either the day it was placed or the next afternoon. The last one was put in this past Friday and it arrives tomorrow (Monday).
FrozenCPU.....much further away than PPC from me (NY to GA). But ordered a couple of things from them on Friday that PPC didn't have in stock, that Sidewinder did have but wouldn't ship until the 17th (much too long a wait), and miraculously, it too arrives tomorrow.
Jab-Tech....love the place, but selection is quite inferior compared to Sidewinder, PPC or Frozen. Prices are better, but choices are limited, unfortunately.
Say what you will......but in the half dozen orders I've made through PPC, each has arrived within 2-3 days and in excellent shape, exactly what I ordered, and very well packed...the last a quality Newegg should learn (putting all your parts on the bottom of an empty box and then filling it with peanuts is not how you packed properly).
Even before I started (UN)Designs I bought alot of stuff from PPC's. They always had everything in stock. The only problem is I'm west coast so shipping is always a little slower but that's not there fault.
I had a problem once with a stripped reservoir and Hank promptly took care of it! I still buy parts from them to this day.
They really do have alot of stuff, sometimes there's just too many choices, but I guess that's a good thing!
Placed an order on the 8th, still "Processing"
So that would be thursday....depending on what time you placed it...it sounds like you used paypal to make the purchase which is again not their fault it takes paypal a few days to come through. Today is monday. You have given them apoximately one day to process your order lol. I have bought quite a few items from there and always used a cc and it never took more than a few hours to process the order a day at the most. Usually if I order around opening they process and ship same day.
Edit: Should add even when there was an issue for whatever reason on an order I have always gotten a call on my cell to let me know what's up.
Ordered it at 12:30am (late wednesday night / early thursday morning) with direct credit card payment.
No bother, it shipped this afternoon.
I wish I lived in GA as I have to pay tax when I order from PPC's. So for $$$$ orders 7% is ruff so Sidewinder, Petra, etc etc get the order. I might place my nxt PPC order just before I go back up to MD for a job and have it sent to my house up there on Gibson Island this way no tax.. :)
A twist to the wrong fan issue.
1) Ordered fans + LED strips
2) Received correct LED strips + incorrect fans
3) Emailed (back and forth) with PPCs customer service
4) Ultimately told them I will send back the incorrect fans, then order the ones I want from elsewhere as PPCs showed them as out of stock
5) I thought PPCs would give me a partial refund or credit towards my next order or something...
6) Instead, I get an email saying they shipped out the correct fans. So now I'll end up with four of these things instead of just the two I need.

Oddly enough, I haven't been back here for the longest time due to RL preventing me from having much time to spend on this former hobby on mine. (I'm back because one of my loops blew up). This thread immediately caught my attention as I logged on.
I remember voicing the same complaints in this thread a long long time ago to deaf ears. I've spent probably over 10k with PPC's while I was going through my WC'ing craze. It's sad to see that he still overcharges on shipping and still has shipping & CS issues. Just never shop from them again. It's what I did.
Well my order is on its way. A bit pricey on shipping for something that is only a couple hours away from me. Should be here monday and I will let everyone know the outcome.
Hi ranker - nice to see you!
I don't want to sound like a PPCs fan girl, but I just can't complain. Have also spent multiple "K"s with them, and can't complain at all. Shipping charges when using UPS seem in line with what I calculate myself. I'll never argue the fact that CS could be smoother. Dunno if that's partly due to their volume or what - but I would like to see that improved so we see less complaints here.
Received my order, everything was packed very well and arrived perfectly. Only issue was that the EK evga classified watreblock did not have the new cover with the grooves for quad sli so they shipped out the updated top the same day. I had a shipping notice within minutes of the email.
I typed too soon. Just opened up the packing on my EK MB block and come to find out that they sent me the regular classified one and not the 4x SLI version. Now I know why it had the wrong top on it. So one more round of shipping will be needed to sort this out. Oh the joy. I was about to order the (UN) Swaigna X brakets for my SSDs but I think I will hold off till I get back at this rate.
Ordered again from this weekend; placed order Sunday and received the order Tuesday. I only wish they carried every computer part (but my bank account is glad they don't :D)
My replacment block should be showing up tomorrow and they sent a UPS return tag for the incorrect part to go back.
I just placed my 8th order with Performance-pcs since 2006 bringing my total business with them to over $3000. I just got my watercooling order this morning from them with another item missing from the shipment yet again. This is the 3rd order out of my 8 total that has arrived with a missing item. I just sent Hank an email to ship this missing item out today via UPS Overnight.
Even the shipment invoice has my item checked off. How the hell could you check off an item and not actually have it in the box? This is such a basic skill that a teenager could take care of. Not only is the shipment invoice initialed by the person who packaged the box but is also initialed by another person who verified the order.
It's a shame that Frozencpu and Sidewinders can't have the stock that Performance-pcs has because I would have spent the last 4 years ordering from both of them. If Hank doesn't come through with this with an overnight delivery, I'm done doing business with him even if it means paying slightly more and choosing from less stock at Frozencpu and Sidewinders.
I got a prompt call from Jennifer (shipping manager) at Performanc-pcs to tell me that they sent the missing item out through USPS Express overnight mail. I'm a bit more happy after hearing this but it shouldn't be happening at such a high frequency to start with. If they can fix their slightly high shipping costs and errors in shipping wrong items or forgetting to include them, then they will be fairly solid overall. Their selection and prices are great and have a nice website to navigate.
Just got my 18th* or so order since '04 (totaling somewhere between $5-7k) today and got a perfect order (13 pcs).
* P-PC's seems to have cleared out all my purchases before 7/09 so accurate count is unknown but in the general area of number given
Could you settle on 6k ? :ROTF:
Sorry I couldn't resist
PPC's are hit an miss IMHO. I think that everyone makes mistakes once in a while... For me, my experience with them has been pretty good overall. I've had the messed up orders but I've also received extra parts at no charge... so it's a wash for me.
:hehe:. . .no! :p:
I seem to have been really lucky with them, I've only had one little thing with them and that was a spare 20 pin connector I wanted. I ordered a male housing and got a female instead. It was something I could use down the road, so I wasn't really all that upset and I just ordered the male housing again with the next order which, turned out to be about 2 weeks later, so there really was no harm or foul.
You have to remember it is a warehouse were guys are seeing a ton of orders. He also probably has people working in the warehouse that aren't as knowledgeable about computer parts as most people here are. Mistakes will happen, even more so if you are ordering small parts like fittings and screws, and etc.
I would bet that if Gary decided to scale his business up to the size of PPC, you would probably see a raise in mistakes too.
It does suck, but it seems you were taken care of.
Even with the couple mistakes made in my past orders, my next order will be going in first thing monday morning.
With a decent warehouse management system, this should basically never happen. Your order is transfered to the warehouse management system, and little lights or numbers go on along the shelves which indicate which (and/or how many) of a particular item should be packed. Knowledge of the items involved should be completely irrelevant. Order picking is an old problem that has many different solutions that reduce bad orders to a minimum.
Of course, this assumes they have a system like this in place, which is somewhat doubtful given the number of mistakes people are reporting!
EDIT: I should say, that my order from them last week arrived quickly and accurately, albeit with shipping cost on the label lower than what I was charged.
Something like that is really expensive to set up.
My guess is the warehouse is very analog seeing that the packing lists are written on. They list you see is probably the exact thing the worker gets to go pull your order.
They start at about $35k USD. For any decent size warehouse its pretty cheap... no idea what PPC's turnover/size is like, but if they are employing several people they probably should have something like this.
EDIT: Looking at this: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/artic...c/index2.shtml you might be right, too expensive for a small operation.
A WMS system is way overkill and big $$$, I looked at them for my fam's biz and almost dropped dead at the quotes I received for the Small Business versions. The software starts at 20K for a stripped down version and you still need to buy the hardware and it ain't cheap.
I have ordered with PPCs in the passed quite a few times and I will agree with some people that they do seem a tad bit on the expensive side when it comes to shipping. I have also ordered from Sidewinders plenty of times as well and the shipping charges seem to be less then PPC and my packages do get to me faster.
But in all fairness it is probably due to the fact that UPS charges more then USPS. But what I don't get is why a package from Sidewinders which is in Indiana via USPS gets here faster then PPCs from Flordia via UPS when I am in NYC.
Also, like other people have stated, I have had some issues with PPCs customer service. In one of my previous orders I had ordered Feser UV Black fluid and got my order but it contained FluidXP Phantom Black fluid. I contacted via e-mail several times and never received a response, finally after about 5 e-mails I finally got a response stating that they did send me the fluid that I ordered but this was not to case. To make a long story short I threw out the fluid and haven't ordered from them since.
I don't know if its maybe they have new people working there or what, but I don't know how they can have an order sheet, have 2 people initial/sign off what was put into the shipping box and then argue with you when you tell them that you have received the wrong product.
This was a couple of months ago, but I find myself needing items they have in stock that I have not been able to find at other sites because of the limited their limited stock which puts me in a precarious position.
