If you think that is bad I'm getting 6.3 for graphics and gaming on my 4870x2. 9.4 & 8.612 drivers give the same result. I've got a 30" monitor at 2560x1600 so I tried 800x600 and I still get 6.3. What gives?

7.5 my lowest :)
Weird, my single slightly overclocked 4870 gets 6.9.
Limited by HDD (velociraptor 300) @ 5.9
My GTX260 only scores 6.3 on both GFX tests. Processor and RAM @ 7.0 and 7.1 respectively.
Am I right to say that 64 and 32 bit versions of the OS score differently? On Vista when I ungraded my 64 bit OS and put the old part in my 32 bit OS the benchmark sub-score was always higher in the 32 bit OS. I haven’t tried that on W7 though and I never found out why the sub score in a 32 bit system was always better than in a 64 bit system.
What I find strange is that 4 OCZ v2 SSD's in RAID0 only get a 5.9 and that my 4870x2 only gets a 6.2. More shocked at the SSD's rating...
That's not surprising for the Cores....if you have time have a quick scan of this thread. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...54&postcount=1
I ran it again and I am 7.8 for CPU, 7.9 for memory, 6.3 on Graphics, and 7.6 for HDD's. So, I need 2 X 4870x2's to be 7.9? They aren't messing around with this... 7.8 for a core i7 965 @ 4.7!
5.9 i think.
The 3d score apparently only supports 1 gpu, but that still doesn't explain why some people do much better than others with the same exact gpu.
I guess they changed the tests for 7201 since my graphics score has gone up 0.6 from 7100.

very interesting thread, I'm very tempted to install w7 now and give it a go
5.9 is mine. Limited by my hard drive. Everything else is at 6.9 or higher.
Same as above except build 7232

Dual 4870X2's I am getting a 5.9/7.9 for "desktop performance for windows aero"
Any idea why I am getting such a low score? Build 7100 of course, it doesnt make any sense and I also get alot of messages saying Aero is using up alot of resources and would like to change desktop settings?
Im not particularly worried about the WEI Score since they are for the most part meaningless in terms of performance standards, however its just perplexing that this score would be so low and I would be getting those popup windows regarding Aero using too many resources etc...
As far as I can tell, the video tests aren't allowing the ATI cards go into 3D clocks ( as well as not appearing to support / scale multiple cores ) My 8800gt gets .1 less than a 4870x2 which would support my theory ( 8800gt doesn't have 2d clocks ) I wouldn't be too worried about it as long as the cards are delivering where it matters
5,5 for ram 1333 CL6 because I go without OC on x48 :)

Pretty low for my graphics :(
5.9 running 7100 here. Limited by 7200 RPM disk. :(

Some scores, if not most - are predetermined, based on components information. Meaning, this tests don't calculate the OC Potential/Bonus - just the default speeds of those components.
Here's mine
Running 7100 RC with 920 at 4.2, 275 SLI and 74GB Raptors in Raid 0. Everything above 7 except for Primary Hard Disk, which came in at 6.0, which seems kind of odd seeing the typical 5.9 score for most HDD.

I currently have the rig in a raid 5, i hbuilding new loop, just on air right now so its a little risky to push the proc to hard...I

Anyone know if PC safegaurd will come out with Windows 7?
I have the pro already want to setup a steady state for a lab environment.
I have 7.8 with i7 920 + gtx 285 SLI + intel x25 80g raid 0 + corsair ddr3 @1600, will go for 7.9 when i over clock my ram little bit
Darn my Hard Drive:
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3...rformancex.png
7.7 on the CPU @ 4.2GHz, 7.9 on the rest.
I guess we need to get some i9 to max CPU results. Anyone can test on a dual nehalem socket rig?
5.9...and thats with a Velociraptor. =(
mh 6.0 for me.
dont know how ppl get that high index with a 280 :O
here is mine low because of the 2Gb DDR3 i guess

Not too bad for an "old" LGA 775 with a base model quad.
Was .1 higher on CPU and Memory, with higher CPU O/C but slower memory speed...
Now for a better GFX card... :)
have we got to the bottonm of why these scores differ so much.......
Running Win7
I have 3 x 285 GTX OC's running in tri SLi and both my graphic's scores are still at 6
I have noticed though that in my WEI spec's it shows my directX shows it at DirectX 9 or greater
5.9 even with Raid-0

here my lame score...

My index is 7.1... My ASUS TOP 4870x2 (no OC) limits it to that score... I would get 7.3 otherwise. :)

Man, i'd love to know why i get such a poor graphics score.
1x 280GTX = 6.7
2x 280 GTX = 6.7
ATI HD4670 = 6.7
The hell..?
4ghz i7 / 6gb / Gigabyte UD5 / ^ those gfx cards / Intel g2 SSD
I just did a fresh os install with the 10.2 cats,my index score with the 10.1's was 7.7 graphics points(default clocks) and it went to 6.0,I've read power play in the new drivers will cause this
i have a friend who has a dual socket rig with nehalems, he still doesnt get 7.9 on cpu. strangeness.
Here is mine:

Here is mine, i7 950 at 4.5ghz, intel 160GB x25m gen 2, gtx 295 OC 700 core.
I even tried 4.8ghz and got same 7.8 cpu score...looks like 4.4ghz to 4.9ghz gives 7.8 cpu on my i7. Guess I need over 5ghz to get 7.9 cpu.
http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6...kamaniawei.jpg
Whats the deal with 7.9!? Damn.
hmm strange thing: over 2months i got 7.9 on ram (6gb ddr3 corsair dominator cl8@1650Mhz).
now for few days only 7.8. running the test 20 times- allways 7.8  didnt change anything on the system.
i know this windows 7 test is crap.... anyways strange...
The Windows 7 Experience Index criteria changes 3 in 3 months.
Oh , thank you!!

It also doesn't display the correct clock speed. I'm at 3.6Ghz under load and 2.4Ghz idle. Looks like its only showing the stock speed.

Love my :banana::banana::banana: hard drives in my main system (i7) .. haha
I dont believe in the WEI. Im sure 2x raptors in RAID0 is faster than one but there is no increase in the hard drive rating. Only a SSD will give you anything above 5.9. We all know some HHDs are faster than the slowest SSD, but windows still gives them a 5.9
This is with a corsair X64 SSD (OS partition) and 2 WD Black 640gb in RAID 0
WEI is a bunch of crap :p:

remeber: experience index is alterd with windows updates as hardware progresses, so E.G.: a 6.9 score when win7 was released is not the same as a 6.9 score measured yesterday.
Atleast thats the impression i get from reading about win7 performance scores
7.6 but thats just the cpu letting me down at 4.2ghz lol
Can someone update this with a P67 system? 2600k in particular .
I don`t really give this algorithm any credit , though it would be interesting .
i'll be running this again with a p67+2600K sometime over the weekend, just waiting on parts
I'll probably run a few command prompt ones as well to look and compare numbers
Running 4400.
thought it was stock for a bit, changes I made in the UEFI didn't take, or I should say, I didn't save them right. Still getting used to it.
The rest of the hardware is in my sig

Not bad. I wonder if i could OC and get 7.9. But i suppose these days EVERYONE has a 7.9 hehe:ROTF:

So my i7 2600k @ 5GHz (when I ran the test) couldn't manage a 7.9 but my crappy, cheap Corsair Vengence RAM at stock clock and timings can get a 7.9? What can I say about WEI that hasn't been said before?
