@ pangingIII, where can I set pl in BIOS ?
@ pangingIII, where can I set pl in BIOS ?
i see on the gigabyte website the official F5 bios, but the download link doesnt work, is that one newer or the F5B???
I ended up keeping the G.Skills, they max out at about 545mhz but they are rock solid on this board!! better than Corsair. I installed the F5B bios and i have a new overclock!!!

not to get too OT but weirdly I placed an order for these yesterday:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166
and the price was $79.99, now it's $149. no idea why.
wow why is the price so high, got mine for $80, but yeah thats the one.
which is newer, f5b, or f5? f5b is dated october 31st
@bugjae, i think its called static read in the advance memory sub menu
After F5 will be F6a
Damn, and I just RMA'd my E8400 today. :/
*crosses fingers that he won't be made to look a fool* :D
Need that screenie!
F5 has compile date of 31st October 2008
Meaning F5 and F5B are the same age...
B stands for "Better" so it must be better.
Well, I am curious as what the actual difference between the two is.
http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/q...5biosCPU-Z.jpg
Lovin this board...:D
edit little slow on screen, had to set up account;;lol
Must be the same bios, dated the same. I agree, this has to be the best board i have ever owned, and ive owned many $300+ boards that have not come close to this!!! Gigabyte has a huge winner with this board!!
Damn! I am loving this board. Currently Prime testing @ 510x8 with my E8500. Been running for the past couple of hours. Will post some screenshots and specs when I am done running them.

review of this stuff
http://www.ur-hardware.com/Memory/G.Skill-4GB-PI.html
I ordered a set about an hour or so ago UPS next day for friday. Maybe it'll help me with my blend stabilty issues.... but i dont think so.
This is whats happening, maybe yall can shoot me some suggestions.. Ive tried both of these gskill 1066 4gb (2x2) kits.
Running them at 1000 (lower than the rated 1066) and the gskill ddr2 1100. i cant pass blend for more than a few hours.
I've tried voltages from 1.9 to 2.3. cas 5-5-5,6-6-6, 7-7-7 and auto. I've loosened all sub timings tremendously.
I've tried everything. It will past overnight memtest86 but fails windows HCI memtestPro after a few minutes.
Fails OCCT. Passes prime small fft. I am currently at 8x500 with this quad that is small fft stable at 9x500.
Is it a memory issue or board high fsb stability issue? It's driving me crazy. It will pass blend and windows HCI memtest if i use a single stick.
Both sticks have ran separately for hours even overnight on both programs with 0 errors. Please help so i'll stop buying higher end memory lol.
I ordered the gskill ddr1000 4-5-4-12 as well but they shipped me the wrong stuff. Waiting on RMA to send the right stuff out.
I have $500 worth of Gskill in the mail :shakes::shakes:
I have this Board now for 2 Weeks and tested it (imo) very extense during this time with lots of settings. I really enjoyed this board so i thought i write my expression down.
My System: Q9550, UD3P, OCZ Flex 9200 2048mb, GTX 280 702-1404-1161MHz, Vista 32 rig
10.20.2008:
Dang, 11:34 i jump into my car to drive 100 km to get my new CPU. While i was in the shop and chatted with the chief 0C there he showed me that UD3P and said that this board has a awesome performance, not to mention the price. I originaly thought about a Asus MF Formula II but with the performance in mind i thought what the heck and i took the board with me. Wnet home and downloaded bios f5a which i used then for a while.
System runs @ 3GHz with 1,1v. Poor Latency but awesome low Power Consumption.
System now runs @ 3,4GHz with 1,19v. Average Latency but stable with DDR2-1200MHz. Read: 8923 Write: 8350 Copy: 8350 Lateny: 56,1ns. First thing i notice: The Bios scales very good the gtl ref values. At the start of your 0C just set all voltages to the normal rating. Fe. if you have the vtt at 1,2 and the CPU and NB GTL refs at 0,76v you will notice that with every step you increase the vtt he will automaticly adjust the GTL refs with the 0,635 multiplier. So my estimated 0,889v for 1,4v vtt was automaticly set to 0,886v ref value. So for 0C starters this board helps you a lot to keep a Quad stable. The board is also able to run high FSB with low voltage on the mch.
System is becoming unstable at FSB 450. After some advice i switch back to Bios F4.
System now runs @ 4GHz with 1,344v. Lower Core Voltages @ FSB 471*8,5. Latency is good the system still is able to run a tRD of 7 while at DDR2-1178. Read: 9895 Write: 9857 Copy: 9248 Lateny: 56,0ns. All Benchmarks and stress tests are passed without errors.
System now runs @ 4,25 GHz with 1,383v = FSB 500*8,5. System is getting unstable. Even giving lots of vcore and vtt won't manage to keep the system under control. So we go down one half multi and loosen the core voltage a little to 1,36v with 1,38vtt and 0,881v for the GTL ref. MCH core voltage is set to 1,3v. The system now seems stable all benchmarks are passed and stress test showed no errors. So i switch to a memory multi which will put more stress on the mch controller and the system itself. We're now at 4GHz @ FSB 500 with DDR2 1250 @ 6-6-6-18 and a tRD of 8. This leads to astonishing Read: 10182 Write: 10528 Copy: 9966 Lateny: 51,3ns. Pretty darn good for a Quad on a P45 imo.
After having the system for a few days at the mentioned settings i thought i push it a lil more. I gave only 0,01v more core and upped the FSB to 510*8 = 4,08GHz with DDR2 1275 MHz (6-6-6-18 tRD:8). Ok now i get really close to what i have been looking for: Read: 10321 Write: 10747 Copy: 10006 Lateny: 50,4ns. But the system is getting unable to pass Prime 95. So i up the core voltage to 1,392v. This does the magic. Everything works now, Benchmarks and Stress tests can be all passed again. 3DMark 2006 produces 20019 points.

http://www.abload.de/thumb/badabing29yoi.jpg
http://www.abload.de/thumb/3dmarkqqfa.jpg
Maybe i can do a little more. I up the FSB to 515*8 and i set the vcore to 1,41v and a vtt of 1,6v. But the system now really becomes totally messy (prolly the tRD thats to low or the rams speed to high). I quit 0C for now and fall back to 500*8 at 1,3442v, vtt 1,36v, mch 1,3v and DDR2 1250. And thats a pretty stable setting. Passed various 6h prime tests as well as OCCT and the intelburntest. 3D Applications all work fine.
I will try later on to get to a super stable setting above 510 FSB but now i have no time. But i can say this board rox. The mosfets keep really cool compared to the Asus Boards i had until now but on the negative side i must say if you have this board running near its limits you hear the mosfets whistling. Well besides that i have sumed it all up. This board along with its default bios pumps the :banana::banana::banana: out of 45nm Quads if your ram works along with it.
From know on I love this Board!

wish you luck. all my voltage settings are under load. i will post on the weekend a stable fsb 500 template and a et6 ss. i'm tryin to lower my memory latencys now a little while remaining @ DDR2 1250.
I've pumped out some ok mem latency and bandwidth with this board. Cant wait for my 4gb of gskill 9600 tomorrow. It may be a good day thanks to you (knocking on wood). I dont get BSOD's or any issues other than blend and windows memtest tellin me i have issues. Now so far after your gtl config im an hour in to blend. lately its been erroring in a few minutes. Sometimes made it to 50 minutes but hardly ever further. I cant wait to bump the multi back to 9 and run 4500 24/7. Will post back later.
I've asked plenty of times in this and the other UD3 threads about the GTL's and according to templates everybody seems to leave them on auto. Never got any replies to my questions. Adjusting them has always helped on my other boards, Auto never worked. Again i'm glad you shared your scenario and settings. Maybe were on to something now. i foresee much higher clocks.
2 hours in and good to go. Gonna up to 9x and tighten timings.
I know this is off topic but i dont think it'll hurt anybody. I just up'd to 8.5 multi and my everest freaked out. Anybody ever seen this?
How well can the UD3 series overclock when all the memory slots are filled with DIMMS (max of 8GB on 4 DIMM slots)?
max. is 4 x 4GB actually for P45, I would like to know too but don't think there are many such users around. :DQuote:
max of 8GB
@nugzo: if it fails after one hour or more in a stress test you have enough vcore and its most likely that you need to up the vtt or the mch a lil more to get stability. Or you keep it the way and first try your luck with the gtl refs and move them one step up.
I also had that weird everest thing at some points. I also noticed when not using enought voltage on the mch the display would go black after a while except for the taskbar. Lol this OS and board shows me errors which i have neva had before while i was using faulty 0C settings. But good thing is when you notice stuff like this you know that u pushed it too far. ;-)
Indeed F4 bios is better for quads. With a Q6600 can boot to windows 475FSB with only 1.30v VTT and with bios F5 its very hard to boot at all.
nice. Seems like that Q9650 can pawn. I just wish i had a better ram. But right now im totally confused i even think of sellin my rig (mb, cpu, ram) and upgrade to x58 cuz that sli thing is really sumthin i would like. But well that's nothing for this thread.
Keep pushin that Quad. Mine doesn't like more than 4,1 GHz at max but this could also be limited to my fear to go above 1,4v. I'm sure if i really wanted to squeeze it i could hit higher but prolly not stable. And i like 4 GHz. It's a nice number with FSB 500. I rather concentrate on my memory cas and the subs and try to lower a few voltages. I'm fancy for DDR2 1250 @ 5-6-5-18 atm.
PS: whats the last gadget on the sidebar?
Do these boards support the X3350/new X3360 etc. S775 Xeons? They aren't listed in the CPU compatability matrix, but IIRC the Xeons have been shown to work on ASUS boards that haven't had them listed as compatible either...
Checking pre-release price for the X3360 here in the UK, it's almost identical to the same-spec Q9550 - which would you get? :p:
hello, im just wondering how does the UDSR compare with the UDSP
there is quite a large price difference....
Update at 515fsb. I suggest everyone try Elektrosadists gtl settings if you are having stability issues. I've went from 485 blend stable to 515 with his GTL settings.

wow great results namegt...out of curiosity whats the batch on that EO 8400?
well there not my settings. just at the start of your 0C set all voltages manually to the defaults, f.e. mch = 1,1, vtt = 1,2, gtl ref = 0,760, dram ref 0,9 and your ram to whateva fits your specs. if you now move the vtt or the dram ref from it defaults you will just see the gtls which are also used if you just let it at auto. but you can take all these settings for a superb start on the fine tuning of the gtl to get stability.
nice nugzo i was stuck on FSB 510 but i will try 520 later. dunno if i have time for that tomorrow but i'll hope so. but i won't test these settings above FSB 510 anymore for stability. FSB 500 is the max i would run 24/7 so i will use anything above only for benchmarks and stressing i think only with wprime or superpi 32m. To have such a high FSB i really need voltages which i don't want to have on the cpu for too long so i only will only aim for a good everest memory latency, a good 3dmark and a nice superpi.
couldn't sleep here are some benches of my quad.
this is a setting that could get stable i think. i just regret that i let the multi on 8 for this. FSB 520*8 with DDR2 1300 6-6-6-18 tRD 8

Total noob question here, but what exactly are the "GTL Reference" and "PL aka Performance Level" located in the bios?
And what are the recommended settings? I am priming my E8400 @ 4.2ghz right now trying to get it stable.
PL is the static read delay tRD. You find it in advanced timing control and you need to set this for each channel (a + b). The GTL voltages are the CPU ref and now i forgot what its called it the bios. anyways the gtls are the refs with a normal value of 0,760. So you should easily see this in bios.
I'm going now to my parents and help them in the garden. While i'm there i will put my water in the ice refrigarator. So when i come back it shold be arround 2 degrees celsius then i will help my mb against condesation and do some benches. i hope i can hit the 4,5G and FSB 530 then stable for benches. now i can boot into windows but its a nogo and lets to bsod soon.
Hey folks. Not a ton of overclocking experience here but I am familiar with the process. I am upgrading my core components on a budget of roughly $500 and the UD3P seems to be a solid starting point. From what i have read the Q6600 looks like my processor because of price, overclockability and the fact that I multitask like a fiend. I will be using air cooling- probably the freezer 7, unless someone has a better recommendation. Regarding memory... I don't see alot of consensus when it comes to ram speeds and brands etc. Could someone knowledgeable give me a shove in the right direction and some solid reasoning/numbers behind it? I would soo appreciate it. Also if anyone has any benchmarks or settings they would like to share (with the same components) I would love you long time.
a pity, ddr 1200 works like charm, at least for me. more frequency on the ram is definatly better than a low cas from what i found out. I'm now still waiting a lit for my water its at 5 degrees now and as soon as it's really icy i will start some 0C and benchmarking. i hope i can reach FSB 550 for a run with super pi and everest latency bench. The only thing that troubles me is that my vga is watercooled and i'm worried about the GTX pcb cause of the condensation.
I also struggle a little if i should find out first what my estimated FSB wall is for the quad. Maybe i do that first lower multi to 6 and go mad on FSB
Ok. I had some fun and i tell you how it went. Basicly i wrote a photo love story about my board n cpu. Have fun.
This is the story of a man trying to impress people he never meet and will never know and his attitude to f...k up his system. (nah not really).

that's it folks. i lost vista and need to do a reinstall. that limits my 0C for now. lol. that was benchmarkin for today. hope you had a little fun readin i had while pushin it.
@electrosadist, simply put, that was awesome!!not just the overclock but the story and the way you told it. had me riveted to my seat. after you reinstall vista keep pushing.iwas thinking about getting a q9650 ,but after reading your story think i might save some money and get a 9550.
Really nice job. My gskill 1200 came in today. I cant compare to that post but heres to my 24/7 setup. I am contemplating water again to go further. I love this board. I sold my GTX280 and have a 4870X2 on the way. I'll get a second one soon.http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/2729/capturedr8.jpg
I'll try some 8gb 1000 1:1 action for now and when my other gskill gets here i'll try some 8gb 1200 12:10.
this is my 24/7 setting.,is that ok..?
Well i've been to hell and back since last post. I put all 8gb in no post. Then post and Bios recovery in progress.
Bios recovers, restarts same thing happened. Could never get bios to recover again.
Went to the shop and grabbed my Maximus 2 formula.
Installed it and hangs on DET RAM. Hmmmm. Tried 1 stick and she booted. Ran memtest and errors instantly
All 4 sticks (2 gskill 9600, 2 gskill 8800) are bad. Went back to the shop and grabbed my gskill 8500.
All is good now with the M2F. Havent reinstalled the UD3 yet with the good memory to see what happens.
I'll do that tomorrow. So.... File this away and hope it doesnt happen to you. Anybody else running or trying
to run 8gb of ram on this board?
Running 2*4gb of gskill 8000 @ 500 FSB without any problems.
Elektrosadist, could you maybe put your images at a smaller resolution.
I was having one hell of a hard time fighting the scrollbar on my Eee PC.
Hi Guys... I'm walking into your steps for at leat ten days...
First I was impressed buy the OC potential of this board, and all the reviews I've read around seems to applause the performance of this "cheap" board.
SO i ordered the UP45-UD3P as a gift for my Q9550 previously running on an Asus P5W DH @ FSB 350 and it was definitly boring whit it :) My CPU and 8800 GTX are cooled with Swiftech H20 watercooling kit
Anyway... this is where I get with my cheap "MBS RAM High Quality" PC 6400 Ram 5-5-5-15@1,8v + - 0,1v tRD @ PL9
http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/7...indrxq8.th.jpg
I've tried succesfully to boot @ 500 x 8 but the LINPACK test failed and I forgot to screen my voltages
On my above pic, you'll se the CPU0 temp along with the System temp max hit 95°c /203 F° (the chipset I think) isnt'it a bit dangerous ? I also hear some whistling @ FSB 483
my CPU can achieve 8 LINPAC test after a cold start but won't pass 10 runs and this is worse after a cold start, max 6 run then BSOD with some random reason...
I've tried to OC along with Nugzo and Elektrosadist posts (thanks guys)
But I've never done this before (the P5W DH was a joke for OC)
I've tested the PL9 over PL11 and that was awesome ... the improvement on my system general use was way better than the frequency growth.. I really think that low bandwidth ram and timings are better than 300 more Mhz (at least if you can't manage to have both :D ) but my ram is really a standard one, not a OC skilled one.. and I'm impressed by its performance, I also think that they die in no time. But when I put my finger on a ram chip, it's not even hot, just warm like a normal temp on normal using. I'll see
What can I do to improve stability ? which voltage should I raise ?
I was before this session at 1.4vcore with no failure, but I think that this is way to much for 4.1 Ghz. Thanks for your help.
pierrandre, try increasing your RAM voltage. If it doesn't overclock very well, then increase it to 2.0V or 2.1V.
I'm in the same boat as you. I can pass IntelBurnTest to a certain measure before encountering errors. Ex: 10 passes → stable, 20 passes → stable, 25 passes → fails. :/
Hi, thanks for the tip, but my ram isn't really made for such high voltages. I don't think that 2.0v would be appreciated by those sticks
check it out : http://www.sqp.fr/products/products.asp?prod=227631 (all is not in french, hardware spec are always in english).
I wonder because all the guys who achieve high FSB and stability are using voltage that I can't event boot with ...
I've tried to lower vcore (1.36) and increase vtt(1.38), but BSOD happens way before the old voltages (vcore 1.4 & vtt auto set)
Another thing would be to release some timings, but I'll loose some of the benefits from the high FSB and the PL9 setting.
I've tried 5-6-6-18 PL9 increased write but lost some read among with latency, but if it's the only way to have stable settings :-/
In another hand, I would be buying some good quality ram to fits my new board needs ...
Hmm. Those are some interesting modules you have there. I'm kind of confused by the description as it lists them as being CL5 but if you look down further, it says CAS 6.
What are the JEDEC settings in the BIOS?
Buying better memory does sound like a good plan. :)

that's all I got..
I'll consider buying some brand new sticks next month.. :)

EDIT2: is this set of temperature not too high ? the chipset took 97°c (206F°) while the CPU dealed with 89°c (92F°)

Welcome m8.
The board can also handle 65nm quad easily. It just the matter of finding a good cpu or an alternative: a pretested cpu.
It better if you can go 45nm quad since it run cooler and better than q6600.
Cooling you cant go wrong with TRUE , OCZ vandetta or Xigmatek.
If you going 4gig RAM go for 4gb ddr1000 or ddr1066 corsair or g.skill. But seems like any 4gb with powerchip doing fine on this board.
My Q6600 capped around 3.90-3.96 stable but I push it a little bit.:) Sry a little bit blurry when I resizing it.

pierrandre nice clock but it very hot man. I hope you didnt cook anything.
Did you put any fans on the NB because it reaching 97°c:eek:? You can boil some eggs.
Linpack is brutal with quad especially if you clock it high and pumping some vcore.
Does anyone know if the CM Hyper 212 cpu cooler is compatible with the Gigabyte UD3 P45 Series -- EP45-UD3 / EP45-UD3R / EP45-UD3P mobo's?
im thinking about getting a watercooling kit for my ep45-ud3p, i want to cool the cpu and nb.any suggestions on how would be the best way (ready built kit or assemble one myself). if the later any recommendations on what parts? if kit, which one would be the best. i really need help on this one since i have no clue as to what my best option is. thanks
The Liquid Cooling forum here is the place to ask that sort of question. The answer will depend on what you want to spend, but I can tell you no-one will recommend a prebuilt kit over separate parts: they don't perform as well for the cost, tend to have other downsides and usually aren't compatible with other parts when/if you want to upgrade.
Watercooling has a steep learning curve, but isn't rocket science, so be prepared to read and ask lots of questions if you're unsure of why people recommend particular hardware. Also be aware that brand fanboyism in watercooling is probably as intense as Intel/AMD or AMD/nVidia disagreements, so be prepared for that. Ultimately the top performing waterblocks perform within a few degrees of each other, almost within margin of testing error, especially when you consider mounting inconsistencies, so unless you're obsessively chasing that last degree you can't go far wrong with any of the current "best" brand leaders, whatever anyone tries to claim. ;)
this is my 1st try with 520FSB stable with PL9.,cannot go higher than 530FSB always blue screen..
Hi, my chipset only hits so high temperature when I launch IBT ... the maximum burn temp under OCCT, boinc, or even with 4 copies of wow launched at the same time : 67-70°c
Thanks elektrosadist!! That was an awsome post with the picture love story. I am going to get the q9550 and basically follow in your foot steps.
What would be the best ram I could for this board that could be pushed to 1150-1200mhz w/ cas 5 or ~1000mhz w/ cas 4 or even cas 3.
update: so far I am thinking about getting the corsair dominator pc8500 2x2gb w/ a fan, what do you guys think?
Thanks Sparda! I am ordering parts today so it was nice to see your reply. Probably get the 4gb g.skill ddr1066. with the q6600, though i am tempted to spend the few extra dollars on one of the 45nm chips. Thx again for the benchmarks and everything- you have been most helpful :)
depends on for what u want to use the PC. If you only play and bench then i would buy a 2x1GB Kit. Thats enough even with vista. And you can reach higher frequencies.
If you encode a lot or stuff and need ram then buy 2x2gb or more. But expect lower 0C or performance results for benches.
Generally you don't go wrong if you buy memory which are already binned to 1200 MHz. This is best nowadays cause nearly noone uses micron chips anymore. So unless you find some (there still out there, cellshock fe.) its better to buy ram with high stock speed. And the 2x2gb combos are all Powerchips or sumthin else and not micron chips.
I mean ram is so cheap, you get mushkin 1150 for 60€ or OCZ 1150 or even 1200 also for 60€. So you can't really do much wrong with these.
Did you change the thermal paste and put a fan on the NB heatsink? 67-70°c is a tad hot. Mine hovering around 33°c-40°c on water.
If 1200mhz is your target ; that 2x2gb dominator pc8500 cant reach it. People end up between 1120-1170mhz depend on luck when picking one. Mine end up 1130mhz.
If 1200mhz is your target with 2x2gb; go for ram that nearly binned with that speed aka ddr1150/pc9200 ; otherwise go 2x1gb.
I just went to the local shop and bought these here:
http://www.tweakpc.de/hardware/tests...hyperx/s02.php
Kick ass. They got Micron on them i just plugged em in, 2,3v 1200mhz no problemo sir. And for only 54,99€
I have that cooler in my UD3R and it fits nicely, even with the 2nd fan added. no interference from the heatsinks around the CPU. However with that cooler make sure you have the fans pointing the right way because you need to unscrew the whole thing from the motherboard if you need to switch a fan, and that means taking out the whole mobo if you can't get at the underside of it with it in the case. Also there's a set of screws that actually turn the wrong way (turn left to tighten, not right)--you'll see why when you put the thing together.
That is what I am think at first when I got the board because they hardly put any sensor on nb for middle range board.
But the temperature scale nearly the same as a normal nb temperature when I put a waterblock; around 33°c-40°c. The "system temp" in ET6 hovering above 43°c before I put the waterblock.
pierrandre got a high "system temp" but it not on ET6 but I bet the temperature also taken from the same sensor chip.
Did anything could ever reach that level other than nb or cpu or Vreg area ?
:) Thanks for replying about the CM Hyper 212 cpu cooler. Yes I do know the screws tighted counter clockwise. Dunno why CM did that. I have the CM Hyper 212 with a E8400 cpu & the Gigabyte P35-DS3L mobo. I'm hoping to buy a Yorkfield 9550 when prices drop and also buy either the EP45-UD3P or EP45-UD3R.
UD3P/R/_ folks,
I had 4 x 1GB of CORSAIR XMS2 DOMINATOR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
which was specced for 4-4-4-12 but would not run at 800mhz (400 FSB) even with just 2 sticks and even with timings relaxed to 7-7-7-32
I thought this was good memory because it's run at 800 before on my old Asus P5W DH (and it's got tall heat spreaders on it, cool) but after 2 weeks tweaking everything I've isolated my OC probs to this memory
Sooooooooooooo
I got 2 x 2 GB of G.Skill (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 and replaced the Corsair with it and I can get 435FSB / 870mhz no problem, I could probably go higher but I am looking for a decent OC on air, not an extreme moonshot.
I just ordered another 4GB of the G.Skill and will report how the board works with all 4 slots filled.
Question: is it better to run the mem at 1:1 meaning 435 FSB with 870mhz memory or should I try to max out the mem at other than 1:1, say 5:6 or 5:8 or one of the other permissible divider settings, even if that is no longer "synchronous" (1:1)?
thanks
So its OCZ FlexII or the PI Ram they offer 1150 mhz you should be able to hit 1200.
I bought some of the last new Cellshocks Kits available. And i even bought 2GB from someone also with Micron (Mushkin XP 8500 @ 5-4-4-12 1066MHZ). I'm hoping i can pump these :banana::banana::banana::banana:es up.
Maybe i will try then also a 4GB combo with 4 stick but i dunno. I really don't do anything with my pc except for tweaking it so i mostly do 2GB cause of the performance.
E8400 4GHz (500x8), memory 4x1GB 5:6 DDR2-1200 with a simple BIOS setting.

this is my 2nd EP45-UD3R board, both of my boards will do 4x1GB DDR2-1200 very easily.
i have tried 500 FSB and with 4x1GB DDR2-1200 on a few Asus P5Q-D's and a Gigabyte EX38-DS4 boards and they could not seem to do it.
