Should be all the info you need. I've programmed the chip several times.

All done and TPower is back online
Dude seriously, did anybody ask you? didnt think so if you doubt KETS abilities dont do it, if you dont have the board, why are you here?
seriously all you've done is thread crap every post in this thread and cause crap nobady cares about. dont flash if you dont want the risk, even a "good" bios can cause corruption when flashing.
many MANY could be in these bios, again with the thread crapping.
agreed, at high fsb even with dry ice, i have had this board give me the 96 error and had to hotflash so it very well may have some issues, still dont know why it does it, thank god for spare bios chips.
GUY'S what alot of you are failing to see here is that KET HIMSELF is providing for some a great favor that he does not need to do. HE is attempting to fix some peoples prolems and all you guys do is crap on him about it! That is rediculous. IF you do not want the service dont come to the thread if you have doubts DONT FLASH.
You need to set the NB GTL to .64 with a quad for FSBs over 400 or so.
FYI if anybody gets a "dead" TPower, put the TPower BIOS on a floppy (a USB stick might work too) and rename the BIOS AMIBOOT.ROM, the floppy\USB doesn't need to be bootable. Turn the PC on and the file will be read, after a bit the system will shut off, DO NOT REMOVE THE FLOPPY\USB, continue to wait and after a few more moments things should be revived.
USB Key or CD-Rom does not work.
try a floppy, maybe try making the usb stick bootable, KET where did you find this out? is this the bios revive thingie?
funny, the bios service man is 80m from my home away :D next street to me :D 7 euros i pay fpor my new bios on the chip, puhhhhh
maybe i should buy a second chip to have one here
www.jumperz.de
this is the shop, i can see his house from my window:D
Right On, Brother!
Well folks, my TPower is gone. Someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I waved goodbye.
i try other rams now white mushkins. they wont get over 1100 too :( is it possible, that any controler or something like that on the board dont wanna go ram over 1100mhz?
edit
FFS as Phil has already said, I'm attempting to fix things, its more than Biostar are doing. I warn of any BIOS code I haven't tested but if somebody chooses to use it still and runs into problems thats their fault for not heeding the warning.
Bottom line: Stop :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing and just wait for a final version BIOS I have tested if you don't want to try a beta. Next you will be saying its irresponsible of manufacturers letting users flash to beta BIOS versions, they will tell you the same thing I have if you choose to use a beta
I will be installing the Biostar today, as my 780i is finally gone!!! Being the second Intel board I will have messed around on in a while, I think I will wait for a tested bios rather than cause more problems than I may already cuase myself. :D
On behalf of the others posting here about a "beta" nios, please do not use it if you do not want. You will rag on KET now, and once his finished bios is done, you will use it and not say thank you!
So I advise, if you do not like what is going on in this thread, just ignore it, use the bios when its done, or do not. Either way those in this thread are here because we want to be, not because KET hypnotized us into thinking we could magically overclock our CPUs to 6GHZ on air with his bios. We all know enthusiast products get released before the best drivers/bioses are released and then they get worked on.
That is what is happening here, the bios is being worked on.
yeah biostar has done nothing, I've emailed them over and over and every response is well if you dont like it, sell it. so at least ket is trying. I dont see any of you trying any improvements. on a further update, I FINALLY got may ram to get into windows at 1150mhz prollumn is now they perform at a lower level than at 1066mhz! WTF!!!
yipieh board boot with 1:1 550fsb, i changed the mch gtl to 59 and now it runs? is it normal?
Thats exactly what Im doing. I really cant stand this board. I cant stand Biostar even more. I emailed their US costumer service. They gave me a one sentence responce basicly saying "email our Tiawan department". I did that a few days ago and still no responce. I overpayed for a budget board with no software support. There has not been a new bios releace in 3 months, not so much as a beta. There is NO help coming from Biostar. Ket is your only chance. He is doing what we PAYED Biostar to do. Thanks for listening to my rant.
i could not resist any longer on weighing in on the biostar board...i made this thread about the Biostar Tpower I45 board!
i thought it pointed towards the GOOD points of the board...NO board really comes out as a "PERFECT" board!..i had good results and i showed the bios settings to get there...AND...not every memory kit is going to work the way it did on a previous board...all you new users need to understand that as a fact of life!
as for modded bioses or beta's, one has to approach them with a very cautious, skeptic eye...they are what they are; full of pitfalls, failures and generally, zero results in performance!
i am disappointed to see Ket releasing modded bioses or beta's without testing them first or not having another user test them for him before posting them up.
for all the new users, let this be your warning/lesson to approach modded bioses with a skeptical eye!...even officially released bioses can go wrong...case in point: gigabyte's X48T-DQ6 (DDR3) board...gigabyte released a bad official bios and it killed relentless amount of boards...gigabyte did the right thing and replaced the boards..i doubt Ket can do that!
this board is a good budget board but it will never be a perfect fit for everyone!
Peace!
the thing is, he warns of them not being tested and said to download and flash at your own risk therefore not guranteeing anything and saying they are not tested, there are only 2-4 people in this thread who can not seem to get that through their heads.
 Exactly. I think anyone else who comes in here and starts whining should just be shown the front door to the P5Q series BIOS thread and let them read through the 40+ pages where pretty much everybody has had great success with the modded BIOS versions. The small percentage of people who did have issues in that thread were simply due to the flash going wrong, which sometimes happens with official BIOSes so I can hardly be blamed for that, and the one set of BIOS files that did have issues, were promptly removed.
your expression of what is right or fair does not relieve Ket of the responsibility, when he mods a bios, that he should thoroughly test it before posting up for general use!
i hold him culpable as you would hold a motherboard company culpable for releasing a "bad" bios that kills boards!
wow, just wow. i just cant believe some people.
Look, I dont know how to repair a bios after a bad flash (I really need to learn how). Therefore I wouldn't flash to any bios offical, beta, or modded without hearing some feedback from other users without being prepared for any concequences. The link Ket posted clearly said beta.
While you all want to point blame to the end user not listening to the "beta" and "not tested" by what Ket... I already said I don't hold him responsible for what has happened to my board at all.
But on the flipside the reason for him GETTING a board was so that he could modify and test these bioses to be released. But at this point all he is doing is modifying them and letting US test them for him which to me is ass backwards.
No, thats true he should have at least flashed it before uploading the bios, but we all make mistakes. He needs multiple people to test the bios. I don't think that he has the recources of Biostar, I know they made some money with this board. Ive had bad results with the same bios for a P5Q that other peole with an e8400 had good luck with. I hope you dont have any problems in fixing the board. Good luck
ket, is it possible for you to make some changes to the vcore settings?
the steps for cpu vcore around +- 0 are a little big normally ist -0,050v to +0,025v, but nothing between this settings :( maybe you can make steps like :
+ 0,010v
+- 0,000v
- 0,010v
- 0,025v
Its incredible how people seem to think I have unlimited resources and testing facilities regardless of me saying I do NOT have endless amounts of BIOS modding tools at my disposal. I have also said the modding is done during my spare time, I am not paid, and if I was, no doubt I would be working for a manufacturer and be able to use all of their tools and testing equipment, but again, I don't.
I also find it completely infathomable how people hold me responsible for "dead" boards. Warnings have clearly been given, go to any manufacturer and they advise against BIOS updates unless absolutely necessary (something I also do - stop being so knuckle-headed and go read the P5Q mBIOS thread), manufacturers are also known to release bad BIOSes, just go look at Gigabyte and Asus, not to mention theres always the risk of the flash simply going wrong through no fault of anyones, but I suppose you would blame the manufacturer for a bad BIOS flash as well even though theres nothing wrong with the BIOS itself  With an AMI BIOS you can easily recover from a bad flash, as I detailed earlier in this thread just put a TPower BIOS on a floppy and rename it AMIBOOT.ROM, then let it be to do its thing.
At this rate I just won't bother donating anymore time to BIOS modding on this board at all. All of you who seem to think its so easy to do, go try it for yourselves.
ok, means no :D thx
even a good working bios can make your board dead if somethings interrupt your system.
it happens to me before even in DOS mode or windows. so dont blame ket.
he's not paid to modified bios, he just want to help us.
if you dont want to take that risk dont go in this thread and dont download his modded bios.
keep up the good work ket!
Listen up ket .... All we are saying is TEST waht you makw!!! Quit using suckers for guinea pigs... People gave you the damn board which you are using a factory bios in...
So yes if you are NOT going to test your work then quit posting it!!! you should be kicked from here to get you stopped...
WZ
Leave Britney Spears alone ! and Ket
This thread is getting dumber by the moment.
If youre stupid enough to flash a bios in your mobo thats not tested how the hell do you get off blaming the guy that made it.
i guess for you a few others who take on that responsibility of flashing with a untested modded bios must have big b*lls.
what about the person who flashes with an official bios that is corrupted from the get-go by the motherboard maker?...that actually happened to gigabyte with their X48T (ddr3)..they released the 3rd or 4th bios version which killed MANY boards...gigabyte stepped up to the plate and replaced the boards..can Ket do that?
me and others put "TRUST" in the distributor of the bios that they have at least tested it before distributing it...so...Ket has an obligation to at least flash his board or pass it to one "selected" tester to confirm it flashes without killing the board!..it really is common sense to perform that quality control check!...i understand how Ket got caught up in the excitement of finessing/improving the biostar official 710 bios since he got the board for zero outlay!..he just skipped a step that is really mandated if you take on modding a bios and then distribute it to the users of the board.
i think Ket should just say he is sorry for not testing it beforehand and then, all of us can move on!
OK, we get it. He should have tested it first.
Now from his side, he did release it with an "At your own risk" disclaimer.
I would personally like him to continue his work on this just out of pure curiosity. If he stumbles upon something that makes this killer board even better, it will benefit everyone.
I have been in this business for a lot of years. BIOS recovery, hot-flashing, and even reprogramming a chip is all old news to me.
Ket, once you get something, let me know. I'll help test it if you'd like. No risk or liability on you if it kills my BIOS. Unlike some, I understand the risks of flashing to a BIOS labeled BETA.
hey everybody i have changed my P5q on Tpower so i have one cuestio i can get more than 421 FSB on Q6600
delete wrong thread
Now dont be surprised if KET does not release ANY bios because of the flaming that has been going on, I would'nt! That would mean that everyone who put $ down is out of luck because of a few that didnt whining and crying about bullcrap, ket was just doing us a favor thats it, and most appreciated it, but the few that did not were straight up relentless, therefore KET himself has not even posted in here for over a week, Good job guys, you got what you wanted, now you can go flame somewhere else.
if it's a recent batch i wouldn't be too optimistic.
this board has produced some large patches of mixed results. i just sold off a QX6850 cos i barely got 400 fsb stable.
oh and it doesn't help that recent batch 65nm quads suck. they need a lot more voltage than their little brothers.
I've stayed out of this up till now. As this has no effect on me either way I think I can be fairly objective about what took place.
Releasing a modded BIOS with the warning "use at your own risk" is something that should always be mentioned. However, that warning should be used to cover something that might crop up that wasn't found in testing. To release a BIOS that wasn't even flashed to a board shows a complete lack of responsibility. Saying it was classified as Beta is no excuse. This particular BIOS didn't come close to being Alpha.
To the users that flashed this BIOS. Regardless what I wrote above everyone of you need to bear the blame for bricking your board. As has already been written in this thread any type of BIOS flashing carries some risk. To flash the board with a modded BIOS that has not been proven to work is unthinkable if you have no means to recover from something going wrong. I'm not sure what you guys were thinking when doing this.
Everyone needs to own up to the part they played in this fiasco. If there is still interest in a modded BIOS post up something that shows some promise and is known to work at least as well as the Biostar provided ones. The first users who are going to test the BIOS need to have a backup plan in case of problems. If the BIOS work is not going to continue forward the board should be returned to the sender and everyone go their separate ways.
For the users looking for some kind of miracle I don't think that will happen. After using this board for a while now the few things I have found that could use some work will require Biostar to make those changes. And a couple of them are a hardware limitation that can't be corrected with BIOS rework.
I now return you to your regular scheduled programming. :)
I agree
ok i give up, again. i have had this board since the beginning and while it does ok with fsb, the shortcomings with memory (latency, performance, overclocking) and bios features (not enough tweaking options, granularity of all voltage settings except vtt) and lack of interest from biostar have done the trick. i have tried 5 different kits of ram, g.skil 4gb ddr2 1000, ocz 2gb ddr2 1100 (4 different kits now) tracer 2gb 1066, g.skill 2gb hz and g.skill 4gb 1100 pi. none would clock over 1000, most would not clock over 960. i have been thru this thread many times, tried all settings, vdimms, straps, timings. since intel 975 ( my first ddr2 board a few years ago) i have never had a board that would not run ram at its rated speed. even my pos msi 750i board can oc ram better. so back to dfi until x58, when i will try the foxconn or the evga. good luck here guys.
I had better luck with my msi 780i myself. I really dont like this board. I dont know how you stuck it out for so long.
I just got some cellshock 1066mhz d9gmh ram, and am chugging right along at 1100mhz, not easily aquired mind you took me like 5 hours of tweaking. finally I decided to use the 1333 strap and not 1:1 but the next one down, timings auto, rcomp to 4 pl auto, nbv auto fsbv auton and a milt 4.22ghz@4.2XXv e8500
I no longer have my own I45 so no comment on the whole BIOS status/testing/brick issue thing...
If for some reason Ket decides not to pursue some actual testing of modded TPower BIOS and sells the board, I think it fair that he either forward any funds recovered back to those that got it for him based on what they contributed (or percentage thereof), or he can forward said funds to me and I will do it for him. I am not attacking Ket nor defending him as he is a grown man and do as he pleases.
I am NOT trying to fan the flames - just making sure folks know where I stand on the whole matter in an honest effort to be fair to everyone involved and have nothing further to say about it.
...and now back to tweaking my rig...
thehinge1,
Thanks for the message. I chip in because I feel it is for a good cause. I sincerely hope Ket would ignore the flame and prove all the doubters wrong.
Hm...so i guess this is canceled? :(
Wait a go WZ.
I am not sure, I'll pm KET about it and be his BETA tester if need be, because I will not complain if my board gets bricked, I'll simply recover the bios rom or switch chips as I like to have 2 chips if my board has a removable chip, just in case.
Well I guess the fun is over now living on the edge of technology. Wasn't it fun to know that your are pushing the technology beyond what a manufacturer did. Sure there are always set backs but it the one who hangs in there and believes he can get there who ends up wining the game. I guess what I'm saying the cause is worth it taking a board and making it better is a good thing !
Is it still running? :)
I really would love to have P4 support on my TPower :D
