Pics are more than welcome! That poor little 8800GT should have been sammiched/dwarfed by the other 2 cards! :ROTF:
nice!
I dig the eye candy method!
wow! great cards there! & pics as well!
Thanks BlueAqua a compliment coming from a guy that did this: :bows:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_0510.jpg
means a lot to me, my project seams a walk in the park and was a lot easier reading threads like yours
Awesome pictures you've got there :D Is it possible that you can pm me a link to the original pictures from this shot.
NCIX FTW!!! :ROTF: I got my card from the same place. Prices slightly better than NewEgg and no taxes.
Looking forward to you installing that EK block.
My new shop will open soon. I won't accept anything but BlueAqua bucks. I have a Microcenter in my basement. :)
I felt obligated to stick that 8800gt in there, it was feeling left out.
I need to get some new lighting to highlight the pictures better. Time to work on that, but hopefully everyone will see the pictures improving throughout this thread. That's a side goal anyways.
Thanks! This 4870 X2 is a beast!
You have a terrific build, a build that's really interesting to watch it develop. Don't hesitate to ask me a question about anything. I learned so much when I did the phase/water build, it was a huge challenge.
Thanks. I sent you a full image, let me know if you want the raw image.
Yeah I am really impressed with NCIX. Considering I ordered it on Friday and got it Monday is just crazy. I think I'll shop there more often, plus I don't mind supporting a store with a great guy like Linus working for them. I appreciate his involvement in this forum.
I was going to install the block, but I got busy with other things and messing with my new htpc board. Here
Thanks man for sending me that picture :) That very nice
And today I mount the 4870 X2 Ek Waterblock.
Naked 4870 X2:

This poor video card looks like it's going to get mounted by the block.

I should have more pictures of it mounted shortly.
Mounted and tested to be fully operational.
I had no issues with mounting this block. The pcb is still nice and straight.

If you can get it done straight I think I'll be able to as well, I think I will order my nickel block in the next few days.... I don't have my 4870x2 yet though :D
that block is just sexy!
Wow it's so shiny #___#
Nice work fitting the block - looks nice
looking good BA.
That block is scweet just as it is. I like that look. Check out these washers. You can get them at Home Depot. I used the #4's for my last set of EK Blocks. :2cents:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...washers005.jpg
Pictures look really nice
Mind sharing what camera and lens you are using?
Thanks. For some reason the pictures were not coming out just right. I had the white balance off, doh.
I'm using a Canon 30d with a Canon 28-135mm IS kit lens.
I went to Home Depot and bought some washers. I thought they would work great, they're fiber washers but the inner diameter was just a tad too small. Back to Home Depot I go tomorrow.
Here are the ones I bought:

A nice little background for my new phone:

The Ek block went on straight as an arrow:

Awesome, love the pictures and overall build/black case looks really good.
New washer update! It's a lame update but I think it adds some value. ;)

The black washers look 1000x better than the big honkin green ones, those would have drove you nuts everytime you just glanced into the case.
Thanks to Shoggy and Aqua Computer I now present you the Aqua Computer Double Impact HD. ;)
I took a few pictures and couldn't decide which ones I liked best, so I'll just include them all.

MurderMod INCOMING!
Nice pics, keep em coming!
Thats one nice looking block :yepp: now lets open her up and get some naked shots ;)
Whoa! It took a while to read through this but theres some exceptional pictures...and I loved the Supercar diversion half-way through ;)
I was gonna comment on the GX2 HSF masking the waterblock but you've passed the credit onto someone else. Its a sweet idea!! The MountainMods case is a work of art dude- hats off to ya for the attention to detail.
Im glad you switched the washers on the 'X2. The green didnt work at all.
In the Formula you have a great-lookin mobo to work with. Its tempting to pick one up based on looks alone. Design has come so far in the last few years- adds a whole new area of finesse to case modding. Sure- the case is the focal point but its so much better when the hardware inside has had some thought put into it.
Are you gonna be watercooling the SB on the FormulaII? Because of the heatpipes- will they work upside down?
Will keep an eye on this thread ;) Its going places!!
K
I need to test that block before you drop her in place!!!
Seeing that EK 9800GX2 block almost makes me wish I had one to use that on! So sexy in comparison to the others imo.
Thanks, I appreciate your support. I'll keep providing pictures as long as everyone still enjoys them.
I might take some shots of the internals, but I'll have to wine and dine her like R3 does with his Ek Supreme to get her top off. :)
Thanks Kenny! I appreciate you dropping by as posting. The Maximus II Formula is a great looking board and will do everything I need it to, while looking good at the same time. I'm hoping the waterblock on the nb part of the heatsink will dissipate enough of the heat to keep the sb cool enough. That will be something I'll have to test when it's up and running.
Keep your eyes posted for some great updates this coming weekend. I think I should have everything and hopefully complete the build fairly quickly.
You got it. How about a GTZ too? Are you all ready for cpu block testing now?
I do have an extra 9800gx2... :)
Thanks though, it really turned out great and looks very slick. I keep looking for a deal on a 2nd gx2 block.
We want naked shots of the Cuplex HD! :D
Heeeeeey...me first! As a mater of fact I need to borrow your Greyhound too. I got a couple of cats out back that are just too fast for me. :D
On the serious side, that new AC block should compliment the new build very well. According to the review here it is the variant to have in the Cuplex family.
Hey guys :)
Love the pics of the HD block BA. I am trying to find time to get the time to read up on my D80, but I just cant seem to find the time.
Looks like everything is coming together nicely. This thing is gonna be top notch for sure.
I got my replacement Bitspower rotaries, I just need to find someone in Canada that carries the other fittings I need. I should have gone direct from BP when I had the chance
Well, I had a few min on my habds at work and thought I should poke my head in your build log and see what is new:up:
TTyall l8r :)
TT
turtletrax!!!!
Good to see you're doing alright...don't be a stranger and pop your head on in often!
Oh TURTLETRAX!! ! Where have you been? I have an announcement for you!
Something has just arrived.... ;)
We demand PICS!!!!!!!!

wow, thats hilarious
WOW.. that just makes it more tempting..
LOL!
You tease BA :p:. Open the box dammit!!
Lovely pics Aqua. What cam you're using?
 I know, it's torture. I had to open the box outside that way my drool would water my yard. :)
Canon 30D. My first D-SLR and I'm loving it.
How about this picture?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2303.png
I want some murderMod Tapping lube!!
Nope nevermind, just read the warning.
I am so looking forward to this! More pics!!!:D
I haven't had much time with the MurderMod, but I've savored every second with it so far. I should have more pictures and more of an explanation later.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2319.png
WOW, now that looks sexy.
I am so jealous of all your computers .etc
May i ask what is your job?
Wow, i want to be like you when i'm older with all those super duper computers.
What are you going to do with them all?
I cant wait to see the parts that you are going to put into the murderbox :)
Keep up the good work!
nice shell for your project BA
and that is an awesome shot there!
:D
HAHA! That bottle of tapping lube is hilarious :p: (I thought it was a photoshop at first)
Nice build/s so far dude  keep it up :)
Thanks so much! Sometimes having all these computers isn't the greatest considering what I've spent on them. I truly enjoy the hobby but at times feel a bit addicted to it. I have a tendency to plan the next build even before I'm done with the current build.
I love your enthusiasm, and if you keep it up I'm sure you can have some nice machines like I think I do. I've been building these a while now and it's taken some time to learn what I have. Learning has been the best part, and the friends I've picked up along the way. The actual machines are almost a bi-product of the hobby.
I have a small lan at my house, a few computers downstairs, an htpc and some laptops. When I have time I get a few friends together and we'll play a few games. Some of my friends don't have the opportunity to have nice computers so I like to indulge them, plus it's fun for me.
The murderMod TJ07 is my favorite thing now. I'm going to really cherish this build and make it just how I want it. I hope you like the results.
Thanks! For every thirty pictures I take I get at least one good one. :)
Many more will fill this thread.
Thanks .Logic! That bottle was really funny, I completely lost it when I first saw it. It was just one of the many surprises that Charles sent with the murderMod.
Please don't ask how I came to that warning.
Oh my; that may have been a bad choice of words... :wasntme:
BlueAqua: I'm really pleased to see your murderMod TJ07 arrived so quickly and most importantly, undamaged. After getting to know you these past months, I know you're going to do an amazing job with the build Mate. Take your time; enjoy; kick a$$. :rocker:
Hey guys!!!
Got a few more seconds at my local B&M store and thought I should pop in and see what is new :)
Amazing pics BA. Simply amazing! Looks like this build is gonna rock them all. I cannot wait to see it in its glory ;)
Just to let you know my ISP based email is now gone. If you need to leave me an email use my Hotmail account.
Well, glad to see your Murdermod got to you safely. I was silently praying that it got to you undamaged
Peace!
Man that sig looks awesome there BA - congrats
We need more pics...don't make us show up at BlueAqua Central with torches and pitch forks!
Enjoying this thread. That EK block is gorgeous. Great pics ... can't wait to see more of this beautiful case and build to match, I'm sure.
Oh I can't wait for you to get started on this.
Seems you are in a league of your own along with, Charles and the others :)
Thanks Charles! I don't know if I laughed or smiled more since we first started talking. I'm sure I did a lot at the same time but I am truly enjoying this experience. The more I play with this case the more I notice the little details that make it so special. It's obvious that you put a lot of your time in this to make it perfect.
The gloves you sent me were very funny, but yet, so effective. I feel like a computer surgeon when I have them on.
Hy Five!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2352.png
Thanks for such generous praise. I just build for fun and love the build. :)

So so good :slobber:
Just downright sexy!!! Excellent photos BA!
is that a powder coated optical drive I see or just painted?
Charles, you make one hell of a product!
You know, I like the black screws on the EK that much better. While it is only a small feature, a build like this requires no detail be overlooked. Again...nice...very nice! :woot:
OH-MA-GOODNESS!
That case is so damn sexy I coul...
...No let's not go there. I think you get the idea though ;)
Nice job
Quick question: Any problems with the GPU block :p:
Um....
This makes me want to sell my computer and get a murdermod!
If only I want lotto!
Awesome as always  what else you except of murdermod :D
BA, how did you mount the rad at the bottom?
:) Thanks!
The optical drive is powder coated to perfection. :) It's a little dusty in the pictures but it's really nice.
Thanks again!
Thanks andyc. :) I think you'll like what you'll see. This case is quite special in so many ways.
Thanks ShoNuff. I aim to please. :)
I didn't have any problems with the gpu block, although I did mount and remount a few times, but mostly due to cosmetic changes. Otherwise it really went on perfect. I hope some block manufactures could start including black screws too.
My thoughts exactly. That's why I have an extra TJ07 just sitting there now.
Charles and MurderMod have set the bar high. I like the challenge of building this up to the standards he has set. I'm sure enjoying the process.
The rad is not mounted yet.. But it will be mounted soon. I'm using the Hammond boxes that Charles send. It all came with the MurderMod TJ07. The boxes will mount to the case with countersunk screws and then double sided tape to the rad. I think it'll work well.
One of the largest hurdles of this build has been the pump placement. I have been thinking about it time and time again. The Ek D5 Top makes it just slightly more challenging to find the perfect mount. I also wanted it to be somewhat sound proofed because I dislike the pump vibration noise.
This is what I came up with. What do you think?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2412.png
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2414.png
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2415.png
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2417.png
Nice looking EK pump top!
Can't see that pump making much noise except if it rattles in the bracket, but that really depends on how tight the bracket is.
It's a rubber foam type material I found on the bottom of a tile grout tool. I just went to my local hardware store and started brainstorming. I still could do another 3-4 more pumps with the extra material I have. I like it because it's really solid, but soft enough to absorb the vibrations.
@pump position:
Nicet Blueaqua! But how does it look from the side? You might wanna check that if it's a clear side panel and place it with a straight angle for the looks, if it's not an issue leave it like that I like it
A little touch of murder heaven...
Just some more pictures of how I need the pump positioned. I think it'll work.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2421.png
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2423.png
I also fired up the faceplate. DAMN it looks gooooood!!!!!!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...a/IMG_2427.png
May I ask how you'll integrate the Aquaero? It looked like the faceplate only has an opening for the optical drive. Great build by the way!
wow.. looks awesome.
D5 looks like it's suffocating in there!
I tried making the lightbox today and it came out great!
It will be mounted internally directly below the optical drive. I never used the buttons on the front anyways since it's all controllable with software.
Yeah it's tight.. Maybe I'll switch it up.
Let's see your lightbox! Post a pic. ;)
Nice work,
Going to be VERY tight down there :) (Sounds wrong at the same time lmao)
Man BlueAqua, this sweet. I love the paint jobs and the pump idea was clever. I wish I had some of your skills. That murdermod logo looks awesome. I could go on forever at how awesome this build is looking. Great job on the pics also.
