I think you're missing the point here. What Blind's compare shows is that core MHz's really boosts the GT1. It boosts in that way that surpassing GT2 isn't totally unthinkable at all. He never meant to say that with single card GT1 > GT2.

Stop being so anti ddr3 :D. I think with the right tune and chip, the ddr3 board can shine more..these compares were only for comparing same clocks that kinc and sham ran just to see some differences between the two boards using same card clocks, tweaks, etc for the gt1 vs gt2 comparison. Still really want to see another 5118mhz with 1175-1200 core speed, so hipros and shams results will be something to watch for. But just looking at jasons scores with about same card clocks as 27run who is only other one running it at that level and knowing that both platforms are closer now, it makes sense. It's not like he doesn't know how to tweak the setup either.
At 465X11/750-775 vs 465X11/590mhz it makes it clearer for me at least and running it myself was worth the effort..
I won't lie, the xfire setup is strong and easy to overclock. It was a trip using these cards as it been some time since x850. Not sure why they can't make overclocking the cards easier in XFIRE though. 27K should not be difficult with adequate cooling for 06 and the right chip. Imagine what a quad doing 5.3-5.4ghz couls do lol.
For me, still unfinished business with the SLI setup and I have to focus on that 100%. Was gonna try and take yours and sham record with SLI kinc,bug or not :D
Now maybe we can stop talking about game tests and scores in this thread and get back to some 06 OC'ing.

That must be expensive to machine. The F shape is nice, doesn't seem like the mass is directly over the core, but their is still mass all around it. So who's got the pots coming?

Been working on original concept for this unit since october of 2006 :D.
This unit is all about SPEED in every sense. Every design aspect of the unit is there for a reason. It has fast pulldown, fast temp recovery, very fast action from pours, the ability to run 3dmark game tests at different temperatures with quad at very high speeds. The base is what this unit is all about. There is more to it than just the lettering It is massive and provides awesome control. It is not the kind of unit that you run 3dmark2006 with full of LN2 and just sit back and watch. You are in full control every second of the way :D. It is very reactive. An LN2 benchers dream IMO.

Nice to compare these pots to a history of pots that Sampsa showed recently to give an indication how you guys have progressed over the years. Amazing what the homebrew guy can do.

In design terms and comparing to a motorbike these are like the Ducati Desmodici RR rather than F1, though I guess that would not fit on the base :p:

Ohh... I think I know what you mean by "you are in full control"... I had a tough time in Singapore with pouring LN2 for our asian 3D record run in July using Xu Gang's D-ICE pot as the Dragon-pot Sham had, had its hold-down plate screwed... still according to Sham, I did a decent job @ keeping temps around -95c... but I surely learned dat one has to be not too fast yet not too slow to maintain da temps, specially during those CPU tests.
So when you say its "LN2 bencher's dream". Its da Bottom-LINE for guys like me. Also, considering its characteristics I now really feel its named aptly!! :D:up:

Team Japan has always gotten credit from me on every container I have ever made :D. Anyone who has ever built a container made from solid copper should give credits to team japan as those guys are the pioneers ;).

Well i think the pot is xtremely cool and i have no doubt that it performes like you say..however i have to admit that i was expecting a total orginal design :p: :D

^Internals are nothing like the Max Neo. Yeah the outside shape is the same, but their are only so many shapes copper comes in. I don't think it would be worth using with dry ice either.

Congratz on the new 2006 score with the blitz extreme Shamino, breathing down my back! That score/cpu speed is looking killer.
Was really looking forward to you re-running that setup as were alot of other peeps...check out the gt1/gt2 now at 140mhz more on cpu at 5250mhz and nearly same card clocks as kinc/sham run ;).

Looks like you got the ln2 DOWN now and prolly 27k will go down real soon for you no doubt!:

yea, i didnt know how it scales until I played with it more, though its still different from sli, the cpu speed only gave me boosts in cpu score not so much in gt unlike sli while i had to rely on card clocks. Mobo is pretty much strained with oced overvolt xfire its much tougher to do 5.3G on it in full array.
heyif u compare our scores its very coincidental that graphics power is almost identical as you can see in GTs, but the cpu score just blows in the ati setup.

Yes..... DDR2 mobo.... Testing ATI on air for the time been and I MUST confess they're doing WELL.....Mobos?......Well let's just say that on Blitz I had a "bit" better 2k1 and on another mobo, WAY better 2k3, 2k5, 2k6 with 160PCI-E.... :D ;)

Upping my pci-e to 133mhz on my p5n-e sli (650i) helped me overclock my core more than 30mhz than 100mhz on pci-e.

how did it go kingpin? i had gtx last time that just didnt work the next time after a bench, there's just no display think was the bridge chip

Have no clue man. One session it was flying, next day I go to post/boot/bench I get this lovely grid pattern upon entering windows and the card can't run any benches anymore, just d3d errors :down:
To it's credit this card has taken a ridiculous ammount of abuse.

I had a card do the same. Then wouldn't boot at all. I threw in a PCI card and booted to windows. I shut down and reinstalled the card on the second slot. It booted fine. I went back to the first and had to reinstall drivers. It worked fine for awhile until I smoked the core with a homemade dice tube zip tied to it. :(

Just what I was thinking. I got a similar pattern once on a video card a few years ago and it was due to damaged memory chips.

Only once have I been able to fix a card once it is blown like that.

Take a hair dryer or a heat gun and cook around the memory, let it cool down and try it again.

Here is my MSI NX8800 Ultra which could do 700/1200 with default cooling:

I tried to heat it with heat gun and actually managed to get some of the moisture out under the memory chips but no help. Maybe ultra sound washing machine would help :P

I had a similiar thing happen to my X1900XTX while it was just idleing in windows while I had dinner... Cleaned it with surgical spirits and replaced stock HS and it ran fine! Ran in my system until about 2 weeks ago when I got this 2900. I thought I killed it with condesation another time too....but no, just can't finish it off!

Try surgical spirits, it's always worth a shot.
