there you have it guys; will they be able to deliver within the stated 14 days?
P5B!!!!

What are the extra pin slot for? We need new psus?
Those are the power slots Intel has been using for quite a while now, there isnt'much new about them.
Indeed, its a standard EPS12 connector. I didnt know intel used them on desktop boards, because the only place I've seen one was on my Xeon board.Quote:

hi, it is the MS-7238
There really are a ton of boards. There seems to be more boards coming out for connie than there have been in the last 2 years for intel put together!!!
Is that pin convertyer necessary? Kind of like a 20-24 pin converter?
I think Asus P5WDG2-WS has been available?
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...y_Code=imb_775
ASUS is making a new rev of the P5WD2-E and P5WDG2-WS to support conroe.
Anywhere to get a guaranteed 304 badaxe?
OPB that board is indeed available, but it doesn't support Conroe ;) Asus made a new version called the P5WDG2-WS Pro ;) And the pro version is not available yet ;) And yes they are making a new revision of the P5WD2-E. Rev 1.03G with 8 phase power regulators. But i don't know about the P5WDG2-WS, but i don't think that one will support Conroe, it just gonna be replaced by the Pro i guess.

DFI Infinity 975X/G should be available in europe within few weeks.
The end-user price will be as high 230€+ (incl. 22% tax), even Infinity series is targeted to value / mainstream markets
Let the hunt for rev. 1.03 P5WD2-E begin :D

IMO not unless the new rev of the P5WD2-E gets copper heatsinks with heatpipes too. ;)Quote:

i'd say best bang for the buck would be the p5b if you're not into crossfire. slap some aftermarket heatsinks on the northbridge and mosfets and you're ready to go
P965 chipset is supports Conroe but the problem with mobo they dont have VR11 ?
Edit: Best bang for the buck 975 mobo...
Can't wait until a couple weeks when people start reviewing them.
yeah, it would be nice to see some 965 reviews; seeing you can preorder them already that shouldn't be taking too long
Yes indeed, I am realy waiting for some reviews between 975X and P965. But my guess is that the 975X is better. Because all the conroe premium boards are based on the 975X...
and additionally, I don't think the best OC'ers weren't able to get a 965 Board... which only lead to one conclusion: 965 isn't faster
I don't think that the fact that 965 can't do Crossfire is the only reason why highclockers left it out...
in fact, for SuperPi you don't need CF ^^
Soory I took so long but here is a pic... It's a 965 chips...

Thx, but's a P965 Platinum like i thought :) But i guess this is an early ES :) The name is printed between the PCIe x4 and the PCIe x1 :)
FLMJIGGY, maybe a noob question but is there a place where i can find detailed pics of all those new boards
ugh, sig pics.
I'm adblocking every one.
Am I the only one looking to buy the Gigabyte DS4?
Fantastic layout, features, and hopefully performance/OC'ability.
I'm about to buy a Conroe 6700 ES but I'm really hoping there is another board I can buy besides the Bad Axe. Are any of the Asus or MSI Conroe-compatible boards coming out within the next 1-2 weeks? I noticed coolaler has a MSI 975 Platinum 2.B board that seems like quite a beauty but they don't seem to yet be available. I'd rather not buy a Bad Axe and then sell it in 1 month when better boards are released. Thanks.
I don't think it's ever a noob question when you don't know!Quote:

I have a few more but i dont remember where I got them from and I dont want to post them all here and mess his nice page!!!
I am doubtful that we will see too many before the July 23rd release. I would think the MSI and DFI are fairly good possibilities to show up in that time period though. I'd hold out as long as you don't have that Conroe in your hands :)Quote:

Ok, from what I am understanding is an later revision to the
Asus P5WD2-E Prem. does in fact support Conroe.
I need an 975x to get crossfire going so for me its essential to look for an nice
solid 975x/conroe board.
I am grabbing an P5WD2-E with latest rev. and will post any and all findings.

No, only if you are planning to use 2 PCIe GPU's without their own power connector... And even then that molex is only there to make it more stable... But no you don't have to use it :)

how can you tell if the P5WD2-E prem. is the newest revision from the box? i'm going to check them out at work tomorrow. they intel 975x rev. 304 so i'm hoping they have the newest asus ones
btw does anyone know if mp-05 will fit on that board? the mosfets look kind of close, dont' know how low they're though
Look at the board itself, if it has 8 phase power it should conroe compitable, and it should be rev 1.03GQuote:

Why can't the warning labels say what the company really means?
"Don't :banana::banana::banana: with these pins, you will break them" sounds a lot cooler then "prone to damage"
Oh, and the board looks cool. I just don't know how I feel about the stacked SATA ports, they are not as rigid as the ones on the board, and I've seen far to many of those L-legs get snapped off by bending the SATA cable.
nice, i like the layout, making it easier to keep it clean
This DFi is nice, but active cooling on the Southbridge ? I imagine what will be on the northbridge.. noisy board !
also the back I/O look to be VERY empty...
Isn't this the second DPWM board? Wish Asus would have a 975x board with one...
Wheras the DFI Infinity 975X is cooled by a basic passive heatsink on the northbridge and a grey ceramic plate on the southbridge. Worlds apart.
Thx for the pics Metroid :) Looks like it's gonna be a nice board. But i'm gonna buy an intel chipset based board. New P5WD2-E revision or something like that :)
Er....I was originally thinking DFI LP 590....but active on SB?
I hope to god I can replace that with a passive cooler...I only have 1 jingting, and it's going on the NB.
That's really gay.
Love how people are slamming it without knowing anything about it. Your jingting comes with a fan (nevermind a weak one), who is to say this fan is any louder?Quote:

CAn the intel Badaxe take SLI as well? or just Crossfire?
It can physically support SLI however nvidia blocks SLI from running on non-nvidia chipsets. There are some hacked drivers out there however they tend to be older drivers (ie. I havn't seen any that support the 79xx/76xx/73xx series)Quote:

Thx, updated the availability :)
And some boards are online at several (European) hardware stores. At least I can preorder some of them like the Asus P5B - P5B Deluxe - P5W DH Deluxe. Also the MSI P965 boards... But I am not sure if that counts for the rest of the world :) And most of the boards are not yet on the manufacturers site...
n00b question:
I want to either get the Nforce 590, Intel 975X or the RD600. I'm assuming u can't run SLI on the RD600, can't run crossfire on the Nforce 590, and the 975x you can run both? Or how does that work? Thanks
U got the first two right, no CF on NForce, no SLI on RD600, and with the 975x its certified for CF and not SLI but (correct me if i'm wrong) theres a mod that'll let you run SLI on it
975x = crossfire native (hacked sli, too, I believe. Poor support tho)
590 = sli only
In theory all three chipsets can do CF and SLi, but it's the driver that don't let them do it. Check Coolaler's thread were he is testing the RD600 board. He is running CF and SLI with hacked drivers :) With the same hacked drivers you van run SLI on 975X. ANd you could use the same trick to let CF work on an ATi chipset. But like I said, it's all in the driver...
what about just running a single card? that doesn't matter right
also i heard something about motherboards allowing for full 16x per card on each pci-e slot
will all conroe boards have that?
No indeed, it doesn't matter when you are running single card. And what do you mean with the second question? If you mean when you have 2 PCIe 16x and you plug in 2 graphic cards that both will run at 16x and not 8x. Well that is not possible with an intel chipset because those have not enough PCIe lanes... But the upcoming nForce 590 SLi IE does provide enough PCIe lanes. So when running SLI on a nForce 590 SLi IE both cards will run at 16x ;)Quote:

Well, the availability is kinda hard to tell, but normally the boards based on the P965 chipset should be here soon. The other 965 variants will follow soon :)
As for the nForce 590 SLi IE... Should be expect somewhere in august, just like the ATi RD600. And I believe that RD600 doesn't support 2x 16x PCIe but I'm not sure of that.
does using 16x on each card cause a huge speed increase? have there been any tests? because maybe ill wait then...Quote:

Get the ASRock if you want, but be prepared for many problems (at least with my expeirence of their company), i've had three of their boards (all different models), 2 didnt post, and the 3rd (my current board) has many problems, i have to wipe the HD once a month cuz it refuses to load windows for some reason, cant run certain games or programs cuz of driver problems and when i update the driver and restart, it wont load windows, random crashes..... but my expeirence, if u get it, hopefully u have a better one
For Asus P5WDG2-WS/Pro & P5WD2-E Prem. you will definitely need an
REV 1.03G for Conroe.

I mean other than the graphics card support. (being sli or CF)
do the 590 and RD600 perform a lot better in gaming? im assuming not.
