You read my mind man. It's all about the 1MB L2 cache. This looks like a great cpu for single stage. that 12 multi! ***CORRECTION 11 MULTI*** .09 for $3XX! I think the 3700+ is a no brainer.Quote:

12x multi on a 3700+ Diego? am I missing something?
No you are not missing something, but if you are right about the 11x multi then Monarch is all wrong. what is the deal? http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...gory_Code=NA_2Quote:

Trans, thats the description for the 754 3700+.
For example, look at the description of the HT bus.
"1600 MHz bi-directional".
That correlates to HT 4x, something AMD hasn't produced in months. (For desktops, at least).
It makes sense that the 3700+ is a 2.2 GHz, 1 MB chipolata.
lol figures, I just called monarch and they basically blogged some A64 table from Toms Hardware. ok so 3700+ is 11 multi with 1mb and a 4000 has the 12 multi?
uh oh I wonder how many accidentally ordered the s754 verson of the 3700+ by mistake
no, that link is not for a 754 3700+, but the specs are 754. it's a 939 3700+ except monarch messed up on the description. If you ordered already thinking it's 2.4 then you might be a bit disappointed.Quote:

from monarch Manufacturer Part Number: ADA3700DAA5BOX
Monarch messed up everything! Someone send them a link to this thread! I called them and they are "looking into it".
Alvin. How nice of you to join us today. I hope you pick up a nice chip so we can see some of that phase change action in full effect.
Nah it is the 939 version wrong description though.Quote:

That is what it shows on my invoice. Monarch is good peoples, they will make sure to get me the right part or send a replacement overnight.
would you still consider monarch good if they actually ship it on May 20th?
Update: Monarch is now accepting pre-orders for retail versions of REVISION E AMD CPUS!!!
Yup Yup. I have a fx-53 to hold me over.Quote:

I think in all actually it will ship within 2 weeks. If not I got something to hold me over and to get the oh so nice headshots in CS:S and play some WoW. Heh
So, how bout fx57? When it will be available?
my guess is it will come out Q3 or Q4 this year like the FX-55
I just check out the reviews of the 3500 and 3800 venices again, they were being tested on phase change and watercooled, but looks like realistically they can only do about 2.7~2.9 on air, and I'm not that impressed with the memory bandwidth I saw from them running at 2.9~3G. :(
For those(and myself) who has already gotten a decent winnie with good memory controller that can do 2.6~2.7G with higher FSB reliably....I'm starting to question what kind of gain I would get from upgrading to the venice. Looking at THIS benchmark of that venice running at 320 x9 (2880) with tighter timing, my 2.7G winnie @337 with loser timing still wiped it!!
clock for clock...the SD with 1MB cache is making much more sense to me and that's the only way I can justify doing an upgrade. I think I'm going to cancel my 3200 Venice pre-orded and plunge down the extra dough for the 3700 SD, I don't think I'm going to use neither 11x nor 10x, I'll mroe than likely settle on 33? x9. too bad the 3500 SD is being capped at 512K otherwise I would of jump on it. For those who were building a new rig, or have a dud winnie, or simply switching from Intel, the Venice probably will do it. :D
I'm not sure I want to order from anyone who can't even get the product description right.... :eek:Quote:

so is this you trying to justify not buying one? OMG 2 chips were tested and they didnt do so well HURRY EVERY ONE CANCEL YOUR ORDERS :p: cmon now just because two review havnt captured the true feeling of it dosnt mean they suck and if the reviewers would have used good GSKILL ram i bet it would have done alot better just wait and see if your not sure wait for results before you jump to conclusionsQuote:

My winny isnt stable with ram at its rated speed so Venice hopefully will let me run my ram at what it was rated and then more :D
A lot of people that want Venice have also put off upgrading. its not like everyone has $160-$400 in thier pockets to wip out at any time
soon enof we will see how well they perform if anyone is not sure just wait a nether week or so more and more will start poping up
Yeah, the reality is there are a lot of people like me who have entire computers except for a CPU. I'm buying Venice or San Diego (right now I have 3700+ on order with Sparco) no matter what. It wouldn't make sense to go down to Winchester b/c of superior memory controller and SSE3 support. So, I am stuck. If I don't buy Venice or San Diego, all these parts will sit for like 3 months until dual-core Toledo, and um I'm not going to wait that long. Hell no.Quote:
