Heh, finally without HT and those useless cores... :D
yeah...latency sucks...i think the ram slots are too far from the cpu? LOL
ln2 all out..so i can't do better...drats
are you doing stage4 don_dan?
I already posted a score last week, but my E8400 is weak and Dopelex' CPU is better, that's why I didn't post any more scores. I have a slightly better score, but it doesn't matter. fuzz3l is already using the E8600 so I didn't try with my chip.
PS: Just got myself another RAM kit, OCZ FTW. :D
for re?
i'll set up re tonight...maybe the stt will work...
re killed my hyperx ..lol
Yes. :yepp:
Some Platinum 12800 7-7-6-24 @ 1.9V, hoping for D9GTR but might be D9JNL. I'll know when I receive them. I'm still not sure what's causing the issue with high Vdimm on my board, and testing three kits hasn't yielded enough data yet.
I'd like to jump in the socket 775 32M stage if I can...
We need 3 guys again though so it doesn't help if just I get a score... :p:
What CPU do you have to do 32M Honda?
I have an E8400, E8500, and E8600.
Nice MaxMEM though still I think your effeciency for the clocks is low...
US is finally in the rankings. :D
i have an e8500 and e8600...
haven't really worked this RE.....gtl and stuff... hopefully i can do 630 on air....
yeah efficiency is bad...not sure if its board..but massman has almost same results...
I called computurd and stevero for the maxmem stage. I couldnt get steve but I was able to get paul on this. He has been busy as a new father and has been out MIA for good reasons. But I gave him the basics and he is going to try to submit.
what other stages are we in on? I jsut looked at stage 3 and do you see the sandy way at the top? that is crazy! If we are going to do anything on stage 3 it needs to be sandy igp board. that is crazy its like 5k over the previous gen.
is this average of the top 3 scores?
splave its been rough man. I dont know what happened but while you guys were at MOA we were sitting on our asses. Yeah that it. its me, honda and linuxfan. I just installed a e6600 on a p5k3 dlx and installing windows right now for stage 4.
I took a little vacation from ocing after dec contest went so bad for me. I just needed a break. paul has a baby and stevero is working a lot. It seems everyone has their own thing going on and its been quiet here. Dr Dan has been doing all he can to get us in shape but its tough when we have everyone spread out. Are you guys back yet? If you are back try to get in here and get ripping. without you and brian and the rest of the heavy shredders we are kinda screwed. Russia is kicking our asses. and countries I didnt know existed are kicking our ass. I think president Obama needs to see this thread and send us some reinforcements. USA is not what it used to be. its pathetic. Its also my fault. I shoulda been getting everyone I know in on this. It wasnt till tonight that I called steve and paul. I have been trying to get Dr Kim in here too since he has all the hardware and lives less than a mile from me but he has been so busy with his work. with his help we couldve had stage1 for sure.
I need to get my ass in gear.
okay just installed windows. gonna give 32m a run quick for stage 4. who is in on stage 4? pm me.
If possible I'll be in on stage 4... If so I"ll get a good tweaked score with 600FSB+ hopefully I"ll get the REX in by this weekend and have time. If the REX doesn't arrive then I'll try a Giga board which might get close to 600FSB.
we got at least one for nf4..from classic platforms...
we don't have h67 mobo lol...sheeeet
i think chew* can make it happen ...
Fugger is playing with h67...last time he posted..
i got an re for stage 4..
i'll test air tonight...
chew has his hands tied. he took all his hdwr to the asus event and its all getting shipped back from Cali
so its up to us. maybe splave can help out in the meantime. I have my p5k3 going and the e6600 all installed for stage 4. I should prob go to bed and bring the dewar to work and get some ln2 tomorrow?
get Fugger in this thread. I havent seen him in here in a while. PM him.
h67 incoming 2500k and 2600k... not sure when the deadline is though. thanks to anonymous supporter
Sounds cool. Should be a fun platform for mild cooling.
Honda, Splave has an E86 to test and I"ll do the E8400 for stage 4 if you can bench your E8500....
Good luck, hope to see over 600FSB 32M from all of our chips.
Yes definitely can get over 2000 points but 2000mhz ram isn't going to happen in this stage because we're limited to 2:6 ram dividers.... ;)
Guys, I don't really think we need LN2 for stage 4 guys unless it helps the CPU get higher FSB... It may be more beneficial to get the NB super cooled... We're talking about E8xxx CPUs running under 4ghz here....
I'll probably run it on SS anyway because its easy for me..
If the REX comes in time I could get LN2 and use the NB-1 pot for higher FSB, we'll just have to see if it works out this weekend.
e8500 it is...currently cleaning my re ..its so pretty :D
just finished setting it up..but i need a better nb heatsink...nb is @ 50c @ 1.6v
Speed there looks very promising Honda I hope I can keep up with you guys!
I'm getting a 2600K system with a Giga UD3P board for a bit of testing. Wonder if it'll do 5.5ghz?
Tripple channel only in MaxxMEM guys....
Stage is over so gotta focus on S775 32M and SB '01 now. Fun stuff. :D
Gotcha. I need to rerun this bench because I probably didn't push my ram hard enough... Gotta have a good CPU with a strong uncore...
Going to test a GTX 570 also soon, should be interesting to compare to the 480... :yepp:
I guess SteveRo, Honda, and I are going to push '01? :D
The REX is scheduled to arrive tomorrow! Thanks to Systemviper for shipping it out to me even while he has so much snow! :D
The 2600K and P67 is also scheduled to arrive tomorrow!
Going to be a busy weekend for sure!
Hope you guys can back me up in the US stages, we need to knock these two stages out!
i have a pair of 285s for sli...i'll test them next week...i got my sandy bird woot
Sounds good..... just make sure you give yourself enough time to get it up to speed before the stage ends!
I'm thinking my highest '01 will either be with the 480 or the 570, my 285 is horrible.
Too bad I don't have a 295... Worked out a trade but the other guy never came through with the card.
Getting prepped for a busy weekend... :yepp:
I'm so stoked for you that is beautiful!
Just take one at a time. Dont get them all going and get spread thin. You want to just take your time on each one. so no onboard video on that board? its a beautiful board but I wished you had Igp. since the stage 3 is dominated by sandy igp. the gains over h55 are like 5K points. I want to know what gigabytes equivalent of the h55-ud2h is. that board was like a hundred bux and clocked like a 300 dollar board. I'm all about the wolf in sheeps clothing. I cant wait to see the Linuxfan aka "The ALabama SLammer" tear it up!
good luck
Splave are you benching tonight? Get in the thread and lets get everyone pumped up!
Godamn why did I sell my Rampage extreme. That board is a piece of fine sculpture.
frickin priceless. Linuxfan you I cant tell you enough how jealous I am. You are holding some beautiful hardware.
Dont do anything stupid! :)
im @ 11'3x
im trying with different xxx...
cooling nb helps ...
going to hit it now, running p5e3...gtx3 or some hypers?
hypers...work great
what kinda NB you given it for 625 honda?
620 original fusion waterblock...1.63v stable...54c nb loaded
625 enzotech waterblock 1.65v 25c nb loaded...
Gave us a little bump in the ref clock challenge.........
rather dissapointed that my cellshocks took a dive........I used to do 445 ht benchable on this board with them :shakes:
http://chew.ln2cooling.com/qdig-file...med_445fsb.jpg
nice work brian...
i can't find anymore d9gtr or d9gts....
Im learning how much I suck at 775 very quickly lol Im booting 625x6...but not exact in round all the way back down even at 600... boom headshot
oh :banana::banana::banana:. should I even bother with the e6600 on the p5k3 dlx or is it a waste? i dont have any xtreme cooling but I could easily strap my dice container on and do ice water runs.
lemme know. os is installed for stge 4. how is alabama doing?

done with sp32m ....good luck guys...
switching to igp now...aircooled ftw
Good work Honda thanks for taking that setup for a spin!
Good luck Splave getting good FSB on your board...
I guess I'll just start out with the SS hooked up to the E8400 tomorrow on the REX and the Fusion NB waterblock plugged into my triple rad since it sounds like its important for FSB...
I'm going to hit this new Sandy Bridge setup again in the morning because I'm still trying to get it up to speed.
I hit 5.1ghz and got a 14.8x pifast and I think 7.3x Superpi1M on air at 1.50V but when I went to do Wprime32M it blue screened then I've had big problems getting it back to those clocks because of this crazy dual BIOS thing Gigabyte has unfortunately. The F6a BIOS works great but when it resets to the F2 backup BIOS all the time it crashes and I can't get the F6a to run at the right settings....
I'm hoping I can get 5.1ghz 3dm01 at least from this random chip. Going to try 2 cores and the -40oC SS unit and hopefully I can work past that dual BIOS thing again and it will not CB or CBB on me...
If it does I'll take a last shot tomorrow before hitting the REX with the aircooler outside to drop the temps a bit.
SB is really weird. Super efficient but the only setting you change basically for an overclock is the CPU Vcore and you bump the multi for core clock...
BTW this chip didn't even like 102mhz Bclk, did 101mhz ok.
I'm disappointed in SB because from my POV it makes these CPUs easy for anybody to overclock so the dudes who picked up a cherry CPU get nice speeds and they don't need to do extensive testing or research to find how to get the CPU up there, nor do they need extreme cooling methods...
Ah well, its great news for Gamers because the price and performance is amazing compared to the other stuff out there and last get i7s and it overclocks on water better than any other i7 CPU out there.
Also like TA said, its beautiful. I'm digging the black PCB motherboard for sure. :D
@Zeneffect: YGPM.
Like I mentioned before, the E6600 is good for hardware points... It'd be worth it to bench it in all the 2D stuff.
I don't see an 11 minute 32M run for the E6600 thats under 4ghz, so it may not be possible. You can always try though.
man even dinos hates the bios reverts..lol
Yeah wish I could disable, unplug, or update the 2nd chip. Its a PITA.
I have a nice NB waterblock that'll fit the REX but it will not mount without me taking off the entire board's heatsinks... Should I just put some new thermalpaste on the Fusion and roll with that?
yes i only gained 5mhz with cold nb lol
i hope your e8400 is a monster with the x48chip...
i think my e8500 is the one holding me back...i'll thy the e8600 on monday...
any suggestion which os for stage 3?
thanks ... i got one ssd just right for win7
...change of plans..no more air cooling...going water cooling on this baby :D
thanks... not sure if my nb or cpu is limiting me to around 625...
who else is submitting stage3 scores? henybody?
Im going to try non hypers but my NB on stock cooling is probably whats crashing pi right at loop2 every time
stage 3
http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...marks?new=true
i hope people will submit 03 scores...hehehe
switching to p68 now....stage 5....
upgraded my nb cooling and same wall....set titty twister to lighter and seems to be passing 595 now lol
cpu ll overide enabled.
max 1.7 vcore.
max 2.1 pll.
thats about all there is to sandy.
if lower than 0c might want to tone down ram clocks.....
Froze my ram the other day, figured what the heck froze them for another 24/7, back to life now, least i was able to put up some decent ht clocks now.
Thanks Brian.
No matter what settings this 2600K ain't going over 5.11ghz. :(
Ordered an Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard and another new 2600K chip. Time to test another Sandy Bridge...
Time to change your user title to "LGA1155 addicted" :)
Sucks to hear your stuck at 5.1ghz Linux. I have the Asus P67 Pro and its been a solid board to bench so far. Hope your next chip is better.:)
Yeah I guess I am addicted to Sandy now. :p:
Me too but we'll see... If not I'm going to keep going through 'em...
I'm going to go through as many as it takes to get 5.5ghz and hopefully more...
Edit: Just saw that the dude Stepnoz got a 5.7ghz SB too..... They are becoming more commonplace then...
Change that statement, I'm going to keep binning these CPUs until I get 5.65ghz+, I think its a realistic goal.
Today we get SB scores from me, another 32M from NameGT, and SteveRo.
Too bad we're all below 5.5... May we all find better chips. :D
Nice work with the clocks you guys got!
Actually, a lower Vpll might be worth a try.
Did you guys play with Vccsa as well?
nice 32m times all around guys :D
Increasing Vcore and enabling "cpu pll override" got me to 5.5ghz. With cpu pll override disabled I was stuck at 5.1ghz. No other voltage adjustment helped to increase cpu clocks and that includes PLL(mines set to 1.7v) but Vccsa seems to help with ram clocking. It just comes down to the quality of the chip.
time to join the party. sandy parts inbound.
Vccsa is System Agent voltage, at least in Easytune.
SoF was playing with it a bit and it helped him go from 54x103.5 to 55x100+ ( booting 55 multi ), memory at 2133 divider. It's depending a lot on memory frequency it seems, according to him at Vccsa >1.08V it would boot, while at 1.15V it wouldn't boot at all, stability was best somewhere in between. At 0.95V ( stock, right? ) he encountered some strange boot loops.
Just thought it might help one of you guys! :)
I also picked up two new chips from microcenter yesterday -
2600K - L042B208
2500K - L041C123
Also picked up an asus p8p67 pro just to have a 2nd mobo if needed
Good luck with your new chips!
And please submit your batch info to Massman's SB Batch and Serial Numbers thread at the HWBot forum. :)
Edit: Heh Linuxfan, I see you did that already! ^^
I have the new 2600k under the megahalems on the P8P67, had time to update to the latest bios then had to come to work.
Using the mouse in an unfamilier bios - will take a little time - if I get stuck I'll either post for help or go back to the ud5.
Ud5 was running fine by the way.
I have high expectations - this is the same batch as flesheatinvirus -
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=252
Got the same L042B208 chip .. mounting it on a EVO ASUS .. will see how this goes ;)
It's a great batch..
Splave, don't forget to post up your 32M score for the comp!!! I just got mine up today and got 12m 16s because I couldn't get my Bclk high. Anyway the way the scores are now we have a chance at third and the best guy of our three(you or Honda) can win some prizes....
You have like 6hrs to submit till its over so keep that in mind! ;)
My 2nd chip was tested today and maxed out at 5.2ghz. Didn't like Bclk either.
Time to try another....
Steve, nice work 112K '01 with your 5870... :D
I got a 109K with my GTX 570 and 5.188ghz chip...
Only 1 more submission for the US to be in stage 4 and 5 rankings!
still trying for 54 multi but its not looking good for this chip - 2600K - L042B208
i can bench 01 at 53 with this chip but must go higher!
has anyone tried using turbo boost - setting everything to 54?
Hey guys, did you have the "File .../results.txt is too big!" error when trying to display run details in 3dm01?
Are you using an Asus P67 board?
Click ORB submission, then click the detail button, it's a known issue.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=265477
Try new BIOS in Asus board maybe get another multi running or Bclk?
ok add that to the list.
1st on the list - probably not until tomorrow -
1. Aquamark with 5870 (hopefully 1000/1300 or better) and SB at 5.3+
Should be 400K+ score, a new PR for me. :)
then -
2. Go after the 4core pcm05 WR with SB at 5.3. :D
At 5.2 I was only ~400 points short! (Areca 1880 4GB, 13xR0 Acard9010)
I have verified that I can run pcm05 at 5.3/ud5 but no bclock.
Not sure which is the fastest array yet: 13xR0 was optimum for 1366.
15x might be best for SB's higher clock and efficiency?
http://hwbot.org/rankings/benchmark/..._2005/rankings
New BIOS for Asus P8P67 Pro let me go 2 multis higher on a 2600k D2 ES. Definitely recommended so far, further testing tomorrow.
I want to play.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138289
Just to clarify: I could boot at x51 and x53 all the same on old and new BIOS, the difference is in stability: x53 is now stable on the same settings. This improvement may have nothing to do with "no post at high multi" problem.
http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/1...ary22nd201.jpg
Nice work guys!
Congrats SteveRo for setting a new 4core PCMark 05 WR!
Good stuff guys, we're at 17400 points again!
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/267...ary23rd201.jpg
-17c tonight, F3 stepping CCB8F AMD Athlon X2 5600+ and a corsair h70 waiting...
Are the newer SB CPUs still getting higher clocks or are people getting 5.6ghz+ still using old batches? Have another new one coming in.
my 2500K is L041B and capped at 5........not sure if thats newer but.
