Strange situation...
I'm fine linked and synced to 1800 MHz (P1&P2 enabled).
System is Prime stable for >2 hours, reboots and cold boots like a charm.
FSB -> 2043, mem = 1800 unlinked, nb -> 1.5v vtt -> 1.3v reboot.
System is again prime and occt stable for ~2 hours, gaming really great.
Shut down system, attempt cold boot, no go.
WTF!!!
Have to fiddle with crash free 2 or three times before system will boot, then again stable.
Back to linked and synced, boots fine..
Was on bios 0703. Flashed to 0704, no change..
Any thoughts??
Well I always get hard times with linked and syncronised ram/memory. 2:1 is though like pmp said even with insane voltages...
Anyways, is 0704 working good for any of you?
Like I said I woke up today and my pc was frozen. 0703 still the best BIOS for me, I just hope next BIOS is based on 0703 (like 0603 was based on 0511)
I cant take out of my head what could war support mean...
Anyways, I have an issue with my GFX
I have 2 8800GT SC editions and I used Precision to overclock them. I select unlinked and I overclock my shaders from 1620mhz to let say 1630, however when I run 3dMark06 I still get 1620 (according to my logitech G15 and the on-screen option enabled). No matter what # I select, shaders stay in 1620mhz, WHY???
Also, when I Oc my core and memory, I get slower result! WHAT??? Stock result is around 18850, when I OC my graphics cards, score goes down to 18500 lol!
I think I will just use RivaTuner
That's normal. The clocks are generated from the same crystal, and there are specific steps in which you can clock the shaders & the GPU Core & the memory.
Check this article/guide
P.S. And yes, use RivaTuner ;)
Jeeze, I finally flash to 0703 yesterday and now there is 0704? In anycase I spent some quality time with 0703 late last night and thismorning and don't really notice much difference yet. I seem to have very similar performance (in regards to overclock clockspeed and FSB), but I also haven't have any issues either. Well besides some weird BIOS behavior, well in the "Extreme Tweaker" tab the screen does alot of flickering when I make any changes to BIOS settings (almost like its refreshing the settings or something like that)? Granted its not a problem but it is different than 0511.
By the way guys against my better judgment I used "Asus Updater" (the Windows based flashing utility) to go from 0511 to 0703 and although it worked it took me alot of time to get the board to reboot. For a while it was just cycling through messages on the LCD Poster (but wasn't booting). I will definately use AWDFLASH next time so thanks a bunch for posting the file Zowner, much apprecaited! I realize you can get it from Asus's website but for whatever reason their site is extremly slow and sometimes won't even load?
Slim142 - As Zowner mentioned there are some specific ways to clock the shader via RivaTuner but you can also adjust the clock ratio between the ROP clock and Shader clock via BIOS. Granted there is not always a need for this but in the case of my GTX my shader clocks were able to handle higher clocks than I could get with the default ROP/Shader ratio in BIOS. Basically the ROP clocks are tied to the shader clocks like Zowner mentioned but its quite easy to modify this if your comfortable messing about wiht the cards BIOS. If you want any specific help feel free to ask.
EDIT: I should have checked the above link as BenchZone does a far better job of articulating exactly what I just said, so please disregard the above paragraph and read Zowner article, lol! You did a great job explaining that stuff on your site, very easy to understand and it actually makes sense now, lol!
HI,
I have flashed my Bios to 0704 an it works fine with the same Settings as the 0703 Bios
0704 is best BIOS for me so far ... i am stable at 1600 FSB with linked mems ... CPU is 3800MHz (9.5x) at 1.375V, NB 1.44, PLL auto, VTT 1.32V. GTLs Auto ... its real first success with this SIIEx ...
nuclearjock - your problem must be in different temps, if is system warmed will need less voltages and currents (GTL lanes are very sensitive) then in complete cold state ... with higher temp are current characteristic of mosfets(coils, and PWM egulators) different.
Have the last few bios's helped with one core failing P95? I'll have to try one out. I gave up awhile ago with 0607 and just settled with one core failing after about 2 hours, the rest were stable for 24 hours.
Thanks BenchZ
Yes I used to have that with 060x series and 0701 I believe, even though was annoying, it didnt stop me from testing them. It was super slow though!Quote:

OMG Roger, you were on the brink of an RMA. Never use ASUS update ever AGAIN!!!Quote:

Dont worry, your intention to help is what counts :up:Quote:

Be happy for that, I couldnt get 0704 to work with my settings! I cant use the new NVMM and the war support  :(
Thats nice to hear... keep up the testing
Was there a 0607?
OBR - I'm sorry if you already mentioned it but what CPU do you currenlty have installed along with 0704 and the decent results (finally, glad to hear it)!
Does anybody have the Network Teaming enabled under the nvidia control panel? When I enable teaming, I loose all connection and lan connection. When I disable teaming, my connection is restored. Does anybody have had issues with the network teaming feature or know of any solutions?
I'm liking 0704 I have found a new high stable linked and synced. 1710 crashed lowered to 1702 and got prime stable for 2 hours and surprisingly without having to relax the timings. I am very happy with this considering I'm using high density ram.
Bios 0704

Wow, I'm very happy with bios 704.
2 days uptime & it's a first for this computer, not one crash gaming omg...
I really have nothing to say  I'm just amazed it really works.
:up::up::up:
NOW I ENVY YOU SPONGE BOB! :p:
I only get 11200 in reading! well, my speed and timings are the reason...
Bios 0704 is now on the Asus FTP.
I'm still having cores fail. Whats weird is with 0704 when I bump core voltage to 1.45 i hear a funny whining noise coming from cpu area.... probably not a good thing. I guess I'll just go back to stock settings for awhile.
That's great, and those numbers are looking good. I have hit a wall at 460FSB, but the numbers are worse than yours down to the 1T timing on the memory perhaps. I am currently overclocking 4GB of 1600MHz ram, I am amazed it is OK at these speeds and timings at stock voltage! I am still waiting for some 1800MHz 4GB Dominator memory to arrive, hopefully it will do even better.
Any of you tried memtest 86+ v2.1 ?
Booted from floppy.
I have prime 95 blend stabile, with mem @ 1600, but when run memtest i get thousands of errors in test 6 :(
Download memtest here :

Tyke, whats your stock voltage for vdimm? and what does your BIOS really gives out for vdimm?
You have an amazing kit right there my friend...
I think Im going to push my PC a little more... I dont like 11k xD
