eva, you really don't want to stop ah ??
my poor tracer's....:D
a fine voltage for daily usage.
fast, fast, more aggressive e fine delay ad hoc

With my P35-T2R not liking my QX, Im thinking of switching to this board... Can somebody please list me the max voltage for the ff:
vcore
vdimm
nb
sbPLL
cpuVTT
Thanks..
well, seeing as I seem to be one of the only people running the q6600 on this board, here is a nice little screenie of my max clock at x8 multi. 1 more fsb clock and the whole thing goes to hell ;)

yeah, i got mine running. :D
just bought a cheap 512mb ddr-800 stick.
it booted successfully, i upped the ram voltage and now my kingstons pc9200 are running without problems. :)
Just thought I would post this, as it may just be me. I flashed to the 12/18 bios that was on DFI's website (but is not there anymore) 2 days ago. I thought everything was OK, but I ended up flashing back to the shipping bios. The one change of the 12/18 was "video card compatability". As I am running a new 8800GTS 512 and was playing around with my Areca 1210 in the second pci-e 16X slot, I thought I would give it a try. Since flashing, my rig has black screened and frozen up while playing COD4 3 times. All settings were identical between the 11/28 and 12/18 setups. I flashed back and just finished a marathon session. No problems.
So, was there an issue with it? Did DFI pull it or am I just a little blind (entirely possible as well)?

I stuck one in this morning. Same settings require less voltage all around on this board compared to the P35.

The 12/18 is still there as a Beta. I wasn't sure why it was posted as official to begin with. Might be your RAID didn't like the changes. I've been using for at least a week and has been solid as a rock for me.
I was running an L738A Q6600 on mine with nearly identical results. I think the max FSB I was running was 469 though. I need better cooling before I play with a quad on this board again. The single 120mm rad that is hanging off the back of the case was very warm to the touch after about an hour or so of P95. Time to get another TC 120.3 I guess. I am sure this will go higher with some better cooling.
It was definately a video-related lock up. Very strange indeed. None the less, all is well with the 11/28.
Thanks... Yummy voltages:D
I actually just got back from the store and they agreed to take my P35 back and give me a credit for this board.... When I checked the availability it said "in stock" but when you click the real time stock status it says " in stock soon" lol.... WTF
I really think that a bios update will fix some oc headroom on this board, it seems really odd to me that my system is prime stable at 469 and wont post at 470 (or 471,472,473,474,475,476).
I am considering bumping my multi to x9 and going for clockspeed later tonight, depends on if i have time after building 2 more computers this afternoon.
hmmz this board seems nice I hope I wont regret it, that I choose the Maximus over this board. Havent test my maximus tho.
Took me awhile but finally got my board stable at 3.4 which requires 1.45vcore and quite alot of nb and vtt voltages
Once I lower the nb and vtt voltages during prime, the screen just goes black
I look at the monitor and the screen light is on and the mb post code is at FF
not quite sure what is wrong here..
also my tracers are suppose to be rated 1066 but it doesnt want to boot at those spds with 2.23 volts
Do i just have bad luck with this board or is something really wrong?
i have a limitation on my qx9650...it won't work reliably over 460 fsb...so...i am down to 400 fsb using 11 multi (4400 mhz) since 4500 mhz required to much vcore for my comfrot zone to be 24/7...right now, i can get away with 1.52v actual vcore to complete wPrime 1024M bench...for an extra 100 mhz i need to pump another 0.05v into the core...the return is not worthwhile for just another 100 mhz.
THANK YOU, EVA for the bios settings!...i will try to use some of them.
i hope you won't take this negatively...but...i really want to know what you can push that E6850 to for an overclock...i'm really not interested in memory performance since the conroe and kentsfield showed up on scene...it has made it unnecessary to try to punch out high system memory bandwidth when the cpu has a huge L2 presence!
i am really interested in more (cpu) horsepower performance over memory bandwidth performance...memory bandwidth is really passe now, not like it was when we only used a single core processor with hyperthreading on the 875x chipset.
i can do 4.2 easy on air startin @ 4,3 gettin hot my cpu maxes out @ 580 fsb
does anybody know when the boards will be on stock here in EU, no matter where I searched for it, all stores are just waiting for it :( but I need new motherboard. Any info would be greatly appreciated :)
Im not sure they will be anywhere for a while...
Newegg completely removed the board from its site and the rumor was in the past that after the first shipment (to mobopro/ncix/newegg) that there werent going to be any more until 2008 jan or feb.
Thats why I bought mine early for the high price at mobopro. ;)
But who knows, maybe EU is just getting a delayed shipment, not sure how things usually work for you guys...
There were only 1000 boards shipped to Europe IIRC
Most went to North America...
I can wait until E8400 is released, hopefully until then some have them in stock again. And in the EU the price is very good for a DFI board, around ~215 €
it got iffy when i started to get above 4200 mhz...i had to work REALLY HARD at finding the bios settings to make it stable up to 4400/4500 mhz...once i got over the hump and understood about adjusting the cpu vtt and gtl ref settings, it was easier...but...the memory settings is a whole other thing...it is a shame that DFI didn't throw in a newb guide for all those settings...LOL:D
NOW...on the IP35 Pro board it was failrly easy to get to 4400 mhz...that bios is like child's play compared to the DFI bios....at my age, scholars tell me to follow the "KISS" theorem...LOL;)
