I'm having a hard time keeping the RAM ratio correct...I'm gonna need your help! :)
:(
I think I may have screwed up royally!!! So I was chaning the BIOS and the PC just froze (in BIOS). it then rebooted by itself and I smelled something burning....:(
Now, it just keeps recycling power back and forth after 3 secs, and it wont even reach POST (nothing appears on the screen)...just recycles power!!
I tried to remove the battery and reset the BIOS jumper, but nothing...
is there a way to recover, or you guys think I blew the mobo up? could the RAM be blown???
i doubt you did anything wrong...something was defective...possibly the board, ram or VC...the board you are using now can it use the ram or VC to check them for proper operation???
if i were a betting person, i would bet that the board is fried...meaning bios chip or some small part...my foxconn board burned up on me while on the bench...the mosfet on that board burned a hole right through the middle..it was quite spectacular fire; flames and smoke!
:banana::banana::banana::banana:ty deal.Quote:

Has this been mentioned here previously?

One DOA P5B Deluxe Wifi-AP here.
It does power up but it doesn't POST. CPU fan spins as long as the system is powered but the monitor doesn't receive a signal.
CPU (E6600), VGA (old ATi pci card / X1900XT) and RAM (TeamGroup DDDR667 D9GMH) can't really be blamed as they still work fine on the DS4.
what about the mentioned BIOS 0709 as in http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=2837&p=1 ? Any1 seen it already?
Yeah...probably! I have the same symptoms!:mad:Quote:

Feel for you guys with the problems :(
I thought i have monster problems, as PC's give me jip all the time. But so far, considering how bad I usually get it, things are going fine. and deep down I always wanted what I got this morning:
GOT AIR? - lol (I'm so happy!)

I've always been mighty frightened of upping northbridge voltage. well, I guess now i have a reason to be!
Congrats! I can't get mine up to 400x9, as I get failed Orthos and random restarts. I haven't tried upping all the voltages yet...What are your Vcore, Vdimm, Vfsb, Vnb and Vsb? What about memory timings?Quote:

my board basically did something when I was changing it from teh manual 1.6v I think to auto, and before I could pres F10 to save and exit, it froze...upon reset, I smelled something and it would just start the fans for 3 secs and then reboot, continuing this cycle......burnt FET :(
Question here guys, having trouble with the Ram on a P5B Deluxe.
Cant I set the mem divider lower than 1:1? Cant underclock the mem at all?

Quick question to the Wi-fi version users: how many of you guys actually took the wifi board out??
Not me - I actually use it.

Memory is 4-4-4-12 (4GB DDR2-800mhz GeIL). They'll do so much more though with ease.
Temps are 40°c CPU and 31°c MOBO.
