Has anyone else that uses this board experienced issues with the network ports/NICs failing?
I've had several occasions that both of my network ports begin failing both in Windows and Linux. In Windows, I receive an error about it being unable to start the device. In Ubuntu, it simply doesn't recognize it correctly whenever I start experiencing this problem. However, I've found out that if I reset my BIOS, both NICs begin working again in both OSes. It's a strange issue, but apparently it must be hardware related since the issue persists even across different systems.
I spent about 5 hours trying to get to the bottom of the issue, but I finally went back to the solution I knew would solve the problem, which was resetting the BIOS settings. I tried formatting and installing Windows several times and also using about 4 different drivers, but nothing gave. I tried disabling the quick boot option and that didn't do anything either.
I'm using the latest BIOS, and it's worth mentioning that even while experiencing this issue, the Smart Lan option in the BIOS successfully detected a network connection without any errors. I can't think of anything other than some sort of glitch in the board itself. Has anyone else had similar experiences?
On top of these network issues, I've experienced some weird issues with the boot priority settings where the correct device is not booted. For an example, even though my first boot device is a hard drive and my primary hard drive is selected as my Samsung drive, it tries to boot to an external usb western digital drive instead. I have to unplug my external drive sometimes to get it to boot.
I thought about RMAing the board because these weird issues really get annoying when they appear. However, the board does seem fine in other areas. I can overclock my processor and memory a little more with this board than I could with my P5W DH Deluxe and whenever the system is up and running, there are no problems what so ever.
The system is prime stable and runs very smoothly. However, if I unplug my system for a little while to do some cleaning, when I boot back up my network ports sometimes will not work until I reset my BIOS. The problem doesn't occur every time I cut the power, but that seems to be a pretty decent diagnosis for the cause of the problem, since I've cut the power every time I've experience this issue.
Anyone got any suggestions? Should I do an RMA? Is there something I should try?
Thanks
Well this is nothing from other world but as i changed rad and block now I can linx at ~1.4vcore at normal ambient temps 22 to 24C, before i had to hit 10C AC to the rad directly to pass
either way temps are high but system holds it before it was a < 1sec BSOD :)
this new setup is giving me nice surprises never seen chip hold a 80C temp lol

I had some trouble with the NIC about a year ago, but it has been good since then. I would get a hold a Giga, and see what they say. If it is a hassle for you, then yes go for the RMA.
Can't get 4.5 stable, but did some benching at 4.72
I wish I could get MSN to work:shrug: Anyway, I will get on Yahoo tomorrow, and we will figure it out. Thanks brother.
I can bench at this so far http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1177368
tell me about waiting all parts take 2+ weeks to arrive here, some get on customs and they tax me 60% over value + shipping, some delays 3 weeks, i cant RMA, if i make a mistake i have to order again and again all that story...and all this with the great help of my friends here in the forum, if it wasnt for them i would get nothing here.
Best of lucks mate try to make msn work of use WEB MSN
I hope I don't incur the same costs as you andre'. It's been 1.5 weeks since I gave money away for a friend to buy me a USB3P and I'm getting really itchy feet! Hopefully he'll be able to send as a gift and It'll remain nice and cheap. Looking forward to seeing what NoGuru can do underwater too :)
Any setting templates from either of you? Similar to the UD3P?
Hey mate...a better and improved UD3P rev 1.0 seems for me...yesterday was the only day i have to turn it off cauz i was stupid and change a ref value from ET6 so i crapped out all...but mobo does not boot loop anymore it auto recovers fast...
now it gets hard to get CL6 PL8 i have the Gskills ECO 1600 CL7 and im blend stable at 7-8-6-24 on PL8 turbo 4500 (500x9)
im looking for a better kit
i have Gskills choices
2000 CL6 / 2133 CL7 / 2400 Cl9
and Corsair GT 2000 CL8
i think i'll grab the 2000 CL6 if they can do 2000 CL7 at least with my stable 4500 will be awesome
OT...all you SSD experts,
I'm trying to pick up a 64GB SSD. What should I only keep on the SSD other than OS and Programs for top notch performance? What should be moved to a separate drive or drives (as in what directories moved)? Thanks!!
I dont bother with tweaks anymore I basically use it like a normal drive and let windows handle the trimming.
How are you guys ?
For those on the GIGA EP45T USB3P there's a new beta bios courtesy of Stasio

New feautures unknown i asked stasio but he also dont know...
Cheers all

Yo those are some amazing results sergio..... I'm see where i'm soon, to see if im going to jump onto that board , even if it sale sell my Nec 20 inch :( lolQuote:

1: reload with Intel rapid storage drivers and put driver on usb stick
2:let windows run all tweak on drives
3: if you have money get a second ssd just to run D:/downloads " torrents " a and D:/Games/ folders , then you have 2 ssd
4: use other jm633 controller to run storage drives
5: watch that baby moveeeee
@ Andre, Hoss and Real7...Thanks for the SSD tips. Not sure if I'll stay on XP or move to 7 for trim support when I get the SSD. But I do know that I should only put OS and Programs on SSD and keep data on separate drives(s). Now just waiting for Crucial to have more of those refurb deals! Thanks again !
Niiiiice :D
Tried the beta bios?
Just noticed your audio hardware - nice spec, you into production or just love your music?
