Thanks for the reply. I'm not exactly sure what revision I have - where do I check? I assume it's a later one, as my MCH goes up to 1.85v IIRC.
Also, what about my question of what you think I would gain by going to the modded GO BIOS? Do you think that would help the most to tighten up the ram timings? As it sits right now, I know it is only Orthos stable for 30+ minutes. I don't normally OC it, but I need to make sure it's totally stable there before I leave it OC'ed to 3.6 GHz +.
hi t_ski i don't think bios 2004 will gain you much, i had issues with 2301 bios when the vcore bios would not stick so thats why i use the modded 2004 , i think you'll be 100% stable with 3.6 but the p5w needs more vcore than some of the newer boards to be stable at 3600 so i'd up the vcore only and then test
OK, thanks for the info.
How do I know for sure which revision board I have?
its printed on the board by the ram slots 102g 104g etc
Rich
I have a question for lawrywild, what's so different about the P5W-DH-ASUS-Deluxe-2004-G0-45nm-Edition bios that you created for this motherboard ????
Your answer is already in this thread. Just go and do some reading, I'm tired of answering the same question. (In future, anyone asking this question will be ignored).
I Just flashed the bios to 2302 and speedstep still doesent work!!!
@dragons_nl and Snake_Eyes:
Are you aware of something called a search function?
Specifically that button on the upper right side of this page labeled
Search this Thread?
Why don't you use that?
Sheesh. Really. Is it our fault you are too lazy for searching and r e a d i n g? :down:Quote:
You think i go read 253 pages of this tread ?
I'm still using 1503, its been running smooth for a long time but i have some sound problems in vista with games, i read in other forums that updating my bios would do the trick.
My question is what is the most stable bios out of all of these that would maintain my 3.2 gigahertz overclock of my core 2 duo 6400 and also be stable with no bugs? Or hopefully allow me to push to a higher overclock if possible. I'm using OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB DDR800 PC6400 ram. It wont boot even if i go one megahertz past 400, so yeah. Can anyone please lend a helping hand?
EDIT: just tried the 2004 mod bios, booted up ran load setup defaults, did not clear cmos though, but still runs great. I went into bios set up my overclock options and it runs awesome, all i gotta do now is run it with games and see if it solved the problem, vista needs a lot of work.
What is memory remap feature and what is better for OCing disabled or enabled. what is dram throttling too? do i need it? and what about the CPU thermal control what would that do if i disabled it. sorry for all the questions guys its just i always wondered if i really needed these options or not and what they did.
Google search of this site for "dh modified 2004 bios"
http://www.google.com/search?as_q=dh...ghts=&safe=off
yeah you right i can use the search funktion.
But its to diffecult to search what you want for a answer.
And i see nobody with Kingston Memory so if i search i dont find something thats give my a answer to my questions..
My ASUS died yesterday after shutting down the PC using the PSU switch (i shut down using Ubuntu 7.10 but the PC was still poweron for some reason then i decided to use the back switch)...
So... i tried to use the ASUS recover bios utility with the CD and also using a pendrive and nothing happened :( so i guess i am one of the owners with the EPROM chip screw, no? )
The system now doesn't post at all and even the 8600GT bios doesn´t appear. The PWON led also turns off after 15secs but the systems is still pwon... no idea..
My mobo is rev1.04 and i hope the store give me the same one at least, is there a higher revision ?
For sure its the mobo or i should doubt about the E6400? i don't thinks so, should i?
PD: I tried everying: ClearCMOS, CLEARCMOS after having the baterry out for 45minutes, unplugging every power cable.... :'(
Hi all,
I'm not sure if this question has been answer or not, i try to search and can't find any solution on this.
Let's me cut to the point, I have 2 SATA drives Maxtor 200GB SATAII and Maxtor 160GB SATAII, I would like to use those 2 drives as an individual drive (JBOD) on ICH controller with AHCI mode (if possible). I tried many configuration.
Let's me break it all down to you
Config 1: 160GB connect to the red port and 200GB connect to SATA 3 black port and IDE DVD burner to black PATA port --> none of the drive show in the BIOS (Jmicron disabled, IDE set to AHCI).
Config 2: 160GB connect to the red port and 200GB connect to to SATA 2 black port (the one close the CPU) and IDE DVD burner disconnected --> only 160GB show in the BIOS (same setting as Config 1).
If any of you have a solution for this, please share, I would really appreciated.
Thanks
Tommy
there was this memory utility i was using that allowed me to customize my settings in windows, i forgot the name and cant find it when i google it, anybody know what it could be called? its not memset, its something else. more comprehensive.
How do i find out what revision my mobo is?
OK, then mine is 1.02g, too. Lawrywild, if you get a chance you may add to the first post where the board revision is located at, for future reference.
I'm going to be upgrading my HDD's (hopefully this week). When I get everything backed up I think I'll play around with it a bit more to see what I can do. I did have some trouble getting my 2GBHKs to run 4-4-3-5 @ 2.1v, so maybe I can work that out. Any suggestions?
Same question I just asked, and got a reply here:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=6308

I see now a temp of 46 idle @ 3,6
Second Answer, about GPU fan to 100% in Vista..
Try Exper Tool.
