I am in 100% agreement with you man. I've said it before and i stand by it, prime fails because it gets hotter than everything else. Priming for extended periods of time gets to be wasteful because after an initial stability check, it pretty much becomes temp limited. I've seen 1-2 degrees make the difference between priming for 10 minutes and priming for over an hour.
I notice when i prime past stability point and get too hot, stuff fails, even FireFox locks up for a few seconds and i have to go play with task manager. Without prime, but at the same speed, it's like 10c cooler, i imagine if it were loading at that temp (say 33c) it would be totally stable there. Only the heat generated from priming makes things fail :)
