I had it running at 375 for a bit but did not like my temps (:banana::banana::banana:ty HSF till i can get my watercooler) so I backed down.
So It is obviously not a crap board... maybe you have a bad one... or some other bad component holding you back.. who knows.. but blanketly saying that the DQ6 sucks cause you can't OC with your setup is pretty lame.

You don't have to buy anything. Just be more accurate when you are crapping about the board. Did you test your components in other board?
Well I did test 2 boards (DS3 and DH), 3 memory sets and 4 diferent CPUs. Results are about the same OCs in both boards. What the hell is wrong with the board?
NOTHING! Its a CPU limit. Live with that.
anyone already tried the F5c Bios for DS3???'
regards
And where you can get that?Quote:

Same for me.

Its already been speculated by practically everyone that the 965s have issues with x9 multi/4MB cache chips. Sure, the extra cache can limit the OC compared to lesser cache chips.Quote:

Considering you couldn't even get a 6600 to boot at 310, I'd say the only one here with issues is you.
The fact that 6600s and 6700s seem to hit the same approximate FSBs tells me that we're a really good board away from getting better clocks with the Conroes. This is why I've bought the DS3. I'm not sinking over 220-240 US for an Anus or 975 board so I can resell it when I buy the 590SLI or RD600 boards that come out in a month or two.
Nowhere did I trash the board. I don't even have my 6600 yet. You barge into the thread and claim that 310 is a CPU limitation on a Conroe? 2.8 GHz? Yeah, right.
Current Conroe boards suck. All of them, not just the Gigabyte. I consider the DS3 the lesser of many evils.
I told you I tested the CPU on a 975 board. Asus DH has a 975 chipste. God!
Would not boot beyond those values either. I dont get what is wrong with you... I told you another CPU would boot 350.. Might even boot more as I will do more testing today.

Anyone try F5c for DS3 yet? Does gigabyte have a change log for it?
And by the way, has anybody experienced problems when trying to overclock with the hard drive on IDE? NON SATA! i'm thinknig that could have been the only thing keeping my MAX POSSIBLE FSB to 404.. no matter how much vcore/vdimm/mch/etc....... really confusing.. trying to contemplate rebuyin this board as there is no way im paying 260$ for that asus if it's just as bad with IDE channels. has anybody got 450+FSB with an IDE hard drive??? AND YES, IM ON A REGULAR PCI graphics card!!!!!!!! and CL 4-3-4-10 ddr2-800 mushkin..so obviously it wasnt RAM possible p965 bug, or did i overlook something? i pretty much tried everything..open to suggestions..
So which of these pics are you actually booting at these speeds?Quote:

For what it's worth, I've got a DQ6 and an E6300 that I can run at 3.5GHz - 500MHz FSB - 24h on CPU tests and it won't fail, but my RAM (Crucial DDR2 667MHz stuff) isn't up to >980MHz or so, no matter the voltage. This is using the f3g beta BIOS, stock MCH/FSB voltage.
I'm the guy who is talking about a 310FSB and how the DQ6 sucks!
And i have HIGH END hardware: DQ6 with F4c beta bios/OCZ Gamextreme 700W PSU/Two WD Raptors ADFD 16mb cache/Plextor 716SA with latest 1.10 firmware/Creative X-Fi Xtrememusic/Conroe E6600 B2 retail week 24/Thermalright Ultra-90 with two Evercool 92mm fans in push/pull + Arctic Silver 5/ATI X550.
I've got 5 Vantec copper ramsinks on the NB cooler and one on the Southbrodge, i have Microcool heatsinks on any MOSFET's or chips i spotted on the mobo, i have SEVEN Coolermaster 80mm fans in my case...an Aopen H700A tower case.
My memory is G.SKILL DDR2 6400 with 4-4-4-12 timings, 2GB and was made 0605. Now...how can this setup be considered crap or the hardware holding me back???????
I have tried every possible bios option and followed other people's settings to try and acheive the overclocks they are getting.
I also tried lowering the multi to 6x and upping the FSB to 400, no boot..had to clear CMOS, i tried 360 and the same thing happens.
So it's NOT the CPU that is being limited as a 6x multi would give you 2.4GHz which is stock speed for an E6600.
The memory is rated to run 400MHZ (DDR2 800), i've tested the memory at it's rated 800MHz speed...it's fine.
It's the either the bios or the motherboard, end of. I know people are getting great overclocks, the point is trying to find out WHY it won't reach what others have done and fellow forum members trying to help...not :banana::banana::banana::banana:slap each other.
