Congrats Sergio on the newborn...Enjoy!
Congrats Sergio on the newborn...Enjoy!
I have now owned my EP45-UD3P for a year and three months. And I'm still gosh-darn happy with this board.
Since I've owned it, I've gone from three individual drives, to two drives in RAID-1, to three drives in RAID-5. I've gone from a Q6600 G0 to a Q9450 C1. I've gone from a Radeon 4850 to a 4890, and added another pair of RAM to match the first pair. And now, recently bumped my Q9450 to QX9770 speeds., with Vcore still set to Auto (I've tweaked the memory settings a little, but mainly because I want the timings to match what I want rather than what the board does on Auto). And it's been rock solid the whole time.
I plan on owning this board at least one more year, and probably two. It's too good of a board for me to get rid of, both for performance and stability. If it had right-angle SATA connectors, it'd go from 99% perfect to 100%, but I can't have everything. :)
One note: I recently was reading NewEgg's reviews --it seems like the rev. 1.6 users have had more troubles with their boards than the Rev. 1 and 1.1 users (I believe mine's a 1.1). Any truth to this?
Big congrats Andressergio :)
Another nice little surprise is that bios FE is out already for 1.6 boards :)
Changelog says 'improved memory compatibility' - will give it a shot tonight.
I actually sent a mail to gigabyte 3-4 days ago to ask if the bios memory compatibility updates for the 1.0/1.1 boards also applied to the 1.6 - perhaps this is what they came up with or maybe it's just a coincidence. (perhaps it'll be a nice consolation for no USB3 in europe)
p.s. @ lonewolf - it appears some may be having issues, and I admit that my board has some quirks but I've benched a lot higher than I expected with my 1.6. The FEa bios did have 'fix CPU VRM10 problems' so perhaps there is a niggle thats causing issues but I don't think it's affected me a great deal.
I'm in the dark here since trying 500x8.5 on my UD3P ver.1.1 with Q9550 and pair of OCZ Reaper PC29200 4gb kit with no luck. Prime95 hangs wtihin 5 approx. 5 minutes. But below 500x8.5, those combo works like a charm.
Here's my dailiy highest clock, 495x8.5, Prime95 stable (sorry for the tiny screenshoot)
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...8/Fsb495-1.png
What should I do for the reach of 500x8.5 up?
hello guys1 this is my first post as ive been waiting for over a month to get it so i can post here, anyways I have a ep45t-udl3r and a q9650 and would like to get it stable at 4.0 I think iam at 3.85 but get randon freezes now and then I was wondering if u can have a look at my bios template and see were I might be wrong, any help will be greatly appreciated thanx Dragon
Iam running 8 gig ram as well if you need any other info please tell me sorry for the long post but can someone please tell me how to make my bios template smaller

a realy big thankyou for your help, I will try this out and post back as to how it goes, Ive beem waiting s o long to get so I can post here, so Iam very greatfull for your help
my pleasure.good luck
ok did what you said but on the cpu pll you said tho go from 1.55 to 1.57... well my next option from 1.55 is 1.65...is that alright or too high, inawhile i will run a few stress tests etc, but please let meknow what i should do with the cpu pll thanx
UD3P v1.6 new BIOS (FE) Improve memory compatibility hit yesterday
http://www.giga-byte.com/Support/Mot...ver=#anchor_os
i was just getting ready to ask about the FD bios for v1.6 im thinking it might be whats keeping me from getting a higher OC. 3.83ghz is about the max i can get stable and i know this board(older versions) along with the Q9550 EO can get higher. i was gonna ask if i should role back to FB bios and try that. but i think i will do some reading on the FE bios first... has anyone tried this yet?
looks like you and I in the same boat......I just tried it and I still gotta work with it more...Im wondering if its these 1200 Tridents holding me back. Although I checked in at 4.050 with memory at 1267 relaxed timings to 6-6-6-18. I could always drop the memory some but I just wanted to see what I could do at 1200 or better,
edit.....on a Q9550 also at 3.833 24/7 without any problem at all
edit....speaking of that I just might go back to FB myself, honestly dont know why I changed it lol
guess I will play with this later on ( this is on FE)
I'm also starting to think that FB might still be the best one. The only annoying thing about it is the lack of quickboot option and is left disabled. This hides the board info from CPU-Z and messes with the experience index I also had to re-authorise W7 and reinstall the futuremark software due to sysinfo errors.
So far FE has not proved to be any better than FD but I've still got a few things to try before I consider going back.
Still waiting for the dam backplate for my apogee XT which has been sitting here for a fair while. They never advertised the fact they don't ship the 775 backplate to europe, so I had to contact some german store who then ship on their behalf. Honestly, purchasing hardware for the past year has been such hard work 90% of the time, with either delivery/stock/rma issues!
I'll get there in the end!
Its funny that you mention that because FB was totally fine for me, it was FD that hid the mobo from CPUZ and messed with the WEI.........very interesting! FD also makes the readings in CPUID Hardware Monitor read weird (LLC enabled and the +12v either reads .070 or it totally dissapears, and also removes it completely from OCCT)
ok here is my bios setup as to what radaja told me to do ,Since changing a few things Ive had no freezes or random reboots. Now Iam at 3.9 and want to take it to 4.0 for 24/7 use, does it look right with the settings now so i can do that?or are there other changes that should be made, I realy want to thank you guys for any help that may be given as Iam still old school p4 days lolCode:******Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T.)******

have you tried upping the fsb to 445 and see what happens?if it boots up into windows
try running prime95 and see what happens.
hello, I want to overclock my system and be stable at 467 x 9 .... tell me how to set my voltages?
thank you very much
http://www.pctunerup.com/up/results/...4032010020.jpg
@DTV DRAGON
when you get prime95 start with small fft's to find your optimal vcore.
if it runs ok for 1-2 hrs then try dropping the vcore until prime95 fails.
then upp the vcore 1-2 notches from the vcore that failed.then run blend
and see if you can do 1-2 hrs.then you can start lowering other voltages
tofind what you setup needs for 9x445@4005 ok ?
@Raffaele2521,your going to have to lets us know more info, like what cpu and what ram your usingQuote:
