With the P5Q Deluxe...
I have it overclocked.
Is it normal behavior for the PC to turn off and back on again if the reset button is pressed?
I know if the PC is turned on from a full off state the normal behavior when overclocked is the PC to turn on and back off then on again.
But with RESET button pressed the PC turns off then on again... normal?
anyone help please?
Err, not quite following your question, but yes, that's what reset is supposed to do.

yeah it will do that to me also if i happen to not pass the overcloking set on the boards it also happens if you had your pc on for a while but it crashes and you want to restarted why pressing the button is normal behavier dont worry its just making sure if you want to change the clocks or not mate...
i can't get stable at 450mhz FSB... help, any suggestions???
im completely stable at 9x400 (3.6ghz) 8 hours of OCCT, and 20xPass standard intelburn test , but when i do 8x450 it doesn't even load into windows (or it crashes shortly after booting).. any suggestions would help

What cpu have you got?? also try at the lowest memory and then try ocing it dont try both at onces if there is something i learned about overcloking is that the futher you go with the ram the less stable your system will get, also what ram you got? and dont go higher on the vPLL mate
Hey guys help me to get a 5 Ghz validation.
Validated settings in the signature is 100% stable (Linpack, Prime, F@H), but i can't boot windows @ 550+ FSB.
Here is my BIOS settings for 520 fsb:
Vmch 1.28, VTT 1.3, PLL 1.52, Vmem 2.00, Static read control Disabled, DRAM Read training Disabled, MEM OC Charger Enabled, Strap 333, Ai clock twister Moderate.
But even 1.5 @ Vmch and VTT doesn't help me to boot @ 550 FSB. Maybe I should tweak GTL?
Dude you are way to pushy and am very optimistic when it comes to ocing i like to go to the extreme even if is just for a screen shot but 5ghz?? i dont thing youll be able to..:rofl: what cooling are you running anyway ?? hope watercooling dude you def need to set the gtl both of them and set the vcore higher but i wouldn't recommended but lets not be a hypocrite if you wanna get near that you need more that 1.55v core, maybe; 1.60+ PLL, 1.5v FSBv, dont worry if you just wanna get stable enough for cpu id or something dont touch the NB GTL or the ram setting and try to underclock the ram as much as possible so ... 1:1 matey

dude try to set the GTL's but am affraid there isnt a rule for all cpus you'll have to try and it will take you time i manage to hit 5 Ghz on older 65 nm cpu on my older p5wdg2 ws professional which was a pretty good board i was using 1.65 vcores which is a lot anyway use watercooling and with luck you'll achive 5 + lol

i cannot run with 8gb ram, but my system was working perfectly with 6gb ram...

Is the CPU stable small FFT ? with which program did you test stability ?

Clock Twister - set to Light or Lighter.
Anothing thing to try is loosening the subtimings.
I found my Mushkin 8 GB was picky sometimes, so i'd loosen all the subtimings by one value.
I imagine there's only a few of them that affect it, but i haven't bothered to figure out which ones exactly.
All i know is that worked for me in some cases.
whats the differences having the PCIe freq on 101 ? ruther than 100?? i always thought to leave the PCIe frequency alone....
As I mentioned in the Maximus II thread, I'm having a lot more luck with CPU o/c on this board than the MIIF. Can't really get very stable above 450x8 with my Q6600, but on this board I've had a lot more success. The pic is with 459x8 and memory at ~1150

I'm currently testing 460x8 with memory on 1226MHz, PL8, Moderate. So far so good after nearly 2 hours of blend, but I still don't feel I have the CPU GTLs tuned properly. (I do have the NB GTL down to a tee with x0.62). So far 0/2 is 0.660 and 1/3 is set to 0.655 with 1.32vtt. Has anyone else got their CPU GTLs tuned for Q6600? I would like to know roughly what to head for as I'm used to the +/-mv on the MIIF :)
Sorry to double post, but managed to crack >4.1GHz 32m stable for a brief suicidal run :)

I always used 101, and never had any issue with it, some had the same experience with 100Mhz. This is an old trick we applied since... I don't even remember lol, for me anyway since OC'ing socket 478... this to avoid the PCI-E starts going bezerk when upping the FSB and to loose stability... all my P45 boards top at 103-110 PCI-E with my videocards... otherwise it won't postQuote:

Between 100 and 101 range you are right. But to clarify leaving it on AUTO eg auto overclocks it and might result in unstability... if it works for you at 101 okay , if it's 100 okay too...
Would you be so kind to test how high you can set it with your videocard... I had loads of issues posting with GTX cards over 105 with the P5Q Dlx (though I sold the board and last bios series was 15xx )
