G.Skill PIs FTW!
Failing that you could get some Tridents which will do over 1200 as well.
The ripjaws are another option, but with rather naff 6-6-6-18 timings.
I think most manufacturer's have quit the DDR2 PC9600 game, which leaves us with very little choice.
Finally got my account activated. So hi, I have an EP45-UD3P. Had an E8400 but just sold it. Was a nice chip, this was on air, http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=958902
Now just waiting on my E8700 for some air cooled action.
weird, board passes orthos blend at 480fsb yet if i was to play tf2 for a while, quit the match then suddenly start up a new server it will crash to desktop and come up with an error about memory unable to be read. imo thats an mch error, happens at 450fsb too just not as often. only certain fix is to lower fsb to 425. i guess the mch cant handle the stress of the high temps caused by gaming combined with having to load a tf2 map.
Just ran HDTACH on my raid 5 configuration. A mixed match of sata drives I had laying around.
I set this up as my OS drive.
Thoughts?

happened at 425 fsb too, but this time got an actual bluescreen and reboot. this problem only happens when loading a tf2 map after tf2 has already been running for a while. even at 480fsb it passes all known stability tests and plays all other games for hours, even other source engine games. has there been a tf2 update recently which causes memory errors in certain situations?
BAM, man i love my UD3P
just took 8th spot and still trying....

Yes they do! What kind of speeds were you able to get them stable at? Did you buy from memoryc?
I can't seem to get over 1250 without getting errors in MT5 - GTLs & Skews make little difference along with voltages so although I'm still getting some nice DDR2 speeds in comparison to my old 4GB kits, I hoped for something between 1250-1290 for benching purposes (like I had for my reapers). I guess an even bigger amount of NB volts might be needed, but I don't want to damage anything.
For now I'm testing with the 2.50A divider at 1233MHz (493x9) which I think will make a nice 24/7 setting without pushing voltages on anything and will allow me to run semi-passive for a nearly silent system - just what I need for my music :)
as i mentioned before even 485x7 passes 1024k orthos, 480x7 passes 1 and a half hours orthos blend and 490x7 locks up 2 minutes into 1024k orthos. all of my best 3dmark benching runs on stock cooling were recently done at 475x7.5 no problem. and i have been running crysis and all the other orange box games for hours at 480x7 no problem.im starting to think this issue has something to do with one of tf2,s recent updates.
yes i am using the ud3lr so im definitaly surprised its actually bench stable at 485fsb 1.3 vtt 1.24 mch 2.2 vdimm
Hi bro, yea great to hear from you, i have bee nplaying with as many chips and i can get my hands on to get more hwbot points. That UD3P is just killer but once i getover 550 it gets very wak. I think i might be able to push it more with the Q9550 but i am taking a break and gonna slap in a E6500K, that should be fun....
Everywhere i look you are right there, so it should be a fun few months, i look forward to talking more
R we all talking about the same G.Skill PIs, I know the older gray ones were really good, but theyve been replaced by the newer version.

Also has anyone experienced problems with PCIE slot or RAM slots not working properly on the UD3R or UD3P. I just got RMAs back (RAM and GTX280) and unless they sent me broken RAM and a broken GTX280 soemthings up with my board.
I went thru 4 EP45-UD3Rs. I was having issues running dual channel. There seems to be a weird grounding issue causing it, unless with mine it was that. i got a new case and it works fine now.
Looks like a nice read speed on HDTach there. Is the Sandra test for disk write speeds? If so, that's very nice too! How many drives are you using and what type/size/brand?
If this offers the speed benefits of RAID0 and the safety or RAID5, I might just jump onto RAID5 again myself!
Thanks for the tip Jor3lbr, what kind of 'buggy' do you mean, just p95 instability? What speeds do they start to play up at?Quote:
2:50 strap is bugged after a certain mem speed and will give you errors. Skews will play a big role here.
For benching a good 2x1Gb will always be better then 2x2Gb mate no matter how good the 4gb kit is.
The only reason I ask is because I'm reasonably stable at 489x9/1233 PL8 settings but it fails around the 640k fft test.
Hows the stabiliy and Vdroop a regulation with these board been since the first Bios guys... have they got any better since F1 or do they still have a fair amount of vdroop I ask because im thinking for switching away from my
M2F and going with a EP45-UD3P or R.
Also would there be anything else id need to know from all your experiances.
LMK
After coming from the MIIF I would say the LLC does stabilise vcore just as well on the UD3P. The UD3P does undervolt by about 0.3v (for me) while the vcore on both the MIIF's I had were spot on. Memory is also undervolted by about 0.2v on the UD3P.
