Same here! My EP45T-UD3P will go to eBay today!
Looks like another set of records are going to be broken then Jor3lbr! :D
I had a quick look around but don't see any available yet - has anyone else?
Got my PI's today so I'm gonna be busy finding their limits then hope to push some better times out of my Quad before I settle back to 24/7 usage and actually start using my PC!
let's just hope it BOOTS decently instead of this finicky nonsense with the cheaper ones when an oc goes bad or "it's not in the mood"...jesus :(:(:(
what's the onus on 24/7 100% Quad usage????
What other than encoding and the Prime/other ones is gonna give a quad 100% load for 24 hours straight??? I'd be happy with an hour or two...
only IMO though:clap::clap::clap::welcome::welcome:
WOW i want it :D:D:D
I like to have as much performance to hand as possible. I use a variety of audio plugins to do live music over 20 split channels of 24/96 audio (where possible (and with many more 'pseudo channels')). Although most plugins aren't really multi-core friendly, the host will assign plugins to different cores, thus balancing the overall load on each core. More CPU speed means lower audio latency, so for me, having 4 cores at this kind of speed is very useful, particularly if you don't want audio crackles whilst maintaining the best possible quality (and no I'm not talking soundblaster cr*p here).
I see... Thanks:)
gotcha...thanks :up::up::up:
Sure, just got my EP45T-UD3P installed last night, lol!
Yeah and I'm working on a EP45C-UD3R right now with DDR3 installed. Figures!
I think you will love an X3380 mate im very happy with it, my Q9650 was an awesome clocker but jeeeze this one is beauuuuutiful :D
see here some start tests..

You know the very very large fft's you find in the custom fft selection page? sizes like 14k, 16k, 24k etc that are not run in the standard blend test (on prime95 either). Well i started testing with them and orthos freezes every time from size 12228 upwards. So i asked some friends at a tracker froum who are also into oc;ing to test with these huge fft's also and their systems all failed aswell almost instantly(3 people). So im guessing this isnt a bug in orthos and we all just have unstable overclocks? This is on same settings that passed ~26hrs standard blend. Any ideas?
Well, gave my Q9550 a shot, I just increased Multipler, and Core, didn't touch anything voltages. I am using DDR 800 Ram, so I keep it at that speed. Running a thermaltake $10 cooler. The CL-P0497

Thoughts? Should I push harder? What are high temps?
70°C is about 5 above what most consider safe temperatures on 45nm quads and even with your cheap cooler and the vcore displayed on cpu-z, I would expect better temps (unless EIST/C1E is enabled). You say you haven't touched voltages... does that mean you've left them on auto? If so I would try to set them up the best you can as these are the probable cause of your high temperatures.
If you read through some of this thread I'm sure you'll find some settings templates you could work with.
After some tinkering with my new PI's I'm now 4.5/1200 stable, and it's all peachy. The most I've managed to get these up to are 1270 stable, but I hoped for a bit more so I could do some ~1300 benching. Are there any hints jor3lbr / andressergio or others could provide for these sticks? I've tried various ddr voltages and dram ref's but I still fail MT5 when going beyond 1270. Loosening timings to 5-6-5-15 or looser just wouldn't post. Did dram skews help any of you? I guess I could always see how far 4-4-4-10 could take me, but I imagine 1080 would be out of reach for benching purposes.
If I can get these stable beyond 1270, then I will try for 530x8.5 / DDR1272. I got a minute or so of prime out of it, but know the memory isn't stable - the main reason for trying for this is because the system seems so much snappier at this fsb/multi than at 500x9!
Maybe for a duallie on IBT :p:
regardless of dual or quad, tCase and coretemps are very different
I believe the chip shuts down in the 90 C's range.
Agreed that 80 C's would be my high range.
Anyone know a good method of getting a higher OC without Over clocking my DDR 800 Ram?
For me 75-76 (CPU READ) its still ok but obove that even tough it wont harm the chip i wont run it for long
I just dont use IBT or LINX i prefeer BLEND as it wont heat CPU as much and has been tested for lots of us that can pass linx and not blend...its much better stress for a long time than a shoot of 8mins heat inmo

Anyone running F12 BIOS on their GA-EP45-UD3R? I had a bad overclock the other day and my BIOS was reset back to F3 from F9. So I need to update BIOS and since I have them all I was wondering do I go to F9, F11 or F12? Thanks!
GA-EP45-UD3R - bios F12:
Download official site:
http://www.gigabyte.us/Support/Mothe...2916#anchor_os
Detailed info:
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/...-ep45-ud3r.htm
* -USB Storage Speed improvements
* -Enhanced memory compatibilities
* -Q-Flash version 2.14
* -Enhanced IDE CD-and DVD-ROM Compatibility
* -Fix Mushkin and G. Skill PC1066 4 GB kit in the yellow slots
After re-flash of F12 using the DOS-mode flash utility from a bootable USB flash drive, everything working normally (for my WinXP 32-bit system).
Guys
Anyone can link me or send to my mail a good and old Easy Tune 6 B08 version ? newer ones are crap and my CD one the B08.1113.1 has a bug...

Cheers and Thanks :up:
