On a serious note tho I would'nt want my chip running that high 24/7, everyone is different. Regardless on how long you plan to keep it having your cpu hot enough to cook your breakfast on is a problem in my book.

I wish I could have ambient at 72(c) 24/7. Yesterday, it was 82 in here with the A/C on full. Funny, though: system temps increase by only 5(c) with a 10(c) difference.

I don't think I have seen much 12000 read speed in Everest(if at all). In fact most recently the highest I have seen stable is the mid 10,000. I think Zucker at 530 or so FSB had 11000 in write and copy but read was less. I have a 780i board can get 12000 linked/sync on DDR2 4-3-3 with mid 400FSB, but no where close on Maximus, only about 11000 with same RAM. I haven't flashed to a Rampage bios, yet. I didn't have the time to start stabilizing the rig, upto now :)
Which bios for the Rampage seems to yield the best results for a Q6600 G0? I'm not really that much into the highest FSB, The northbridge is too hot for that.
I might want to do something about that later.
With the current bios, Maximus 907, there's a long time that passes before the boot sequence gets past the IDE detection. Is there a Rampage bios specifically that might fix this?

HDPC: The only suggestion I can think of from the given template is that you can increase the CPU PLL Voltage to 1.56 ~ 1.60 to see if that helps.
If that doesn't help, increase the NB Voltage from 1.55 to 1.59.
400*9 should be faily easy to acheive becouse it's neither a high CPU clock speed OC nor high FSB OC. You shouldn't need more volts than what I suggested and the other ones you've already set.
Everything else looks fairly relaxed.
I agrees with Grnfinger. 0308 is just slightly faster than 0403 under Everest benchmarks but at the cost of instability and compatibility for some people. I have been getting many DET RAM hang error and can't get rams to OC near 1200mhz prior to 0403 RF bioses. After I flashed to RF0403, there is no more werid DET RAM hang error for me and 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix Tracers in A2/B2 slots are able to OC up to 1240mhz with only 2.14 Vdimm in bios.Quote:

I water cool a SE and regular version. For 3.5 you could probably get by cheaper with a high end air cooler, but if you want water cooling go for it. Heater cores tend to be fairly thick and have more air flow head loss typically needing a bit higher flow fans which increase noise. At the same time their surface area kind of balances it out. Finding conversion pieces for heater core inlet/outlet tubing is kind of troublesome as well. Show us a pic if you want or ask in the water cooling section.

It currently has four internal 80mm fans, 2 at the rear and two at the front, all running full-bore. They are actually the ones that originally came with the case!
Looks like you have room up top for the rad. I'd seriously consider adding a fan over the NB/Power heatsink if you go water as well.
haven't been here in quite some time... just wondering if anybody has hit the 4.0 (Q6600) mark with stability? i'll post up the same old 3.915 that i've had for awhile but never seems to make it to the main page lol.
