But try with one stick first and see if you can get into the bios and change settings.

When I'm going to change to rampage BIOS it says "ID is incompatible" and doesn't flash... How did you guys flash it then??

Yeah, I checked that thread. Now one problem has arisen, how do you make a slash or a backslash in ms dos? But I guess that's not a question for this thread... I have googled on all possible combinations of words without success, everyone seems to know how to make all kinds of signs, but no one will bother doing a tut on how to write these signs. o.O :s

As a Maximus I can get 3.8GHz or even more, that is if I want to hit my chip with about 1.5V's and up. It's tempature would be fine, it's the chip melting inside that worries me.
There looks to be two camps to me on OC'ing a Q6600.
Camp 1 is only going to go a tad above recomended voltage settings, and just see what their chip will give them. That keeps them at 1.4v's or lower max. I believe intel suggests not going over 1.35v?
Camp 2 thinks with proper cooling, voltage isn't a problem, and will go close to 1.6v's.

I wan't to believe camp 2 real bad, juce my chip to 1.5v's +, and run like the wind. On the other hand, my default 1.224v Q6600 is probably a pritty darn good chip. I really wouldn't want to do any permanent damage to it...
I don't mind however, making it squeal a bit though. :p:
I also wonder about the Maximus burning up its power chips too, if I were to run my Q6600 at close to 1.6v's.
I am currently trying to decide what my normal voltage should be. I would rather just have one 24/7 setting, but am starting to consider using the 2 slots for saved BIOS settings more. I could make one for just surfing, and the other as fast as I dare go on my voltage. Under bios 907 I did take this chip up to 3.9GHz for a short 45 minute Prime95 run. It did run error free too. :up:
Hey Talonman, although I now use a Maximus Rampage, a Rampage Formula and 2 9450s in lew of my Maximus Formula/ Q6600 combo, I did use the former at 1.5 actual for 4 months 24/7 and have a Q6600 G0 on air running 24/7 @ 1.5 vcore. The latter has been going about 6 months. About a year ago there was a thread asking who was running what at 1.5 and above 24/7. There were at least 3 pages of replies. It might be worth a new thread. Given your low temps I'd go 1.5 24/7 without hesitation if you were folding or doing something equally constructive. Running the high clock and voltage doesn't seem worth while if you have nothing utilizing 100% of the cpu while doing so. In that case I'd have 2 profiles saved. One for gaming/ benching. One for surfing and e-mail. My 2 cents. :)

I've gone to 1.56 for daily use for periods of 1~3 months and back to 1.48v for the rest and over a period of 10 months I periodically go back to my 4GHz @ 1.56 for messing around or testing RAM and such for days and weeks sometimes so YES, 2 profiles work great for this. I do feel benching 24/7 over 1.5 is gonna show some wear after a point way much sooner then regular personal use. Mine are on at least 8~14hrs a day at most days. But I do leave for days so it gets plenty of rest.

I started working on a 3.6GHz setting, that I intend to use for just web surfing. I will save the 3.8GHz + for games only.
My lapped Q6600 GO (L726B397) with a default vcore of 1.224v's, only requires 1.392v's to make 3.6GHz stable.
It did pass the OCCT mixed test for 1 hour error free, and have Primed it successfully for 4 hours. This shot is only a run of 1.5 hours, but just wanted to post a picture to keep things honest. ;)
I only get about 42C max temp on my CPU @ 1.392 volts.

Here is a 9x425 setting as well 6.5 hours prime blend stable, this is on a MAximus rampage hack but the settings will play nice with a Maximus Bios

I have had my DRAM Command Rate set as 2T. I just tried the 1T setting and it booted with no issues. :)
Now I get with Everest Memory benchmark:

I just booted my E6600 B2 out today and got me a shiny new Q9300. I came to the conclusion that an extra 100 Euros (155 USD) aren't worth the extra 0.5 multiplier points...
However, what about the issues of AFAIK all current boards with quads, they seem to hit the ceiling at around 450-46 MHz FSB.
My Q9300 is a SLAWE C1 stepping, and I got 3.3 GHz stable without any issues with the old CPU's settings. My RAM works up to FSB 500/DDR2-1000.
What is to be taken special care of in Quads, considering the electric differences of the two dice under the hood?
Any specific forum treads about it, perhaps with special regards to the Maximus/Rampage boards?

NO, I haven't. I am still curious on how the 2x 2g kit of OCZ FLEX II perform on this mobo myself. Is the Corsair kit a 2x 2g or x1g kit? If at least a 2x 1g kit, I would predictat least comparable if not a little more head room or w/ less vdimm or maybe slightly relaxed trfc in auto. OCZ is defaulting to 50 or 55 trfc in AUTO for BIOS that donot allow loosening below 42. Others may do so as well.
Corsair kit is 2x 2G (4Gkit) it's not cheap so I'm not sure it is worth the upgrade. It would be neat to go to the 1333FSB Quad Core at some point and 4G of this memory but not
sure if it would make a huge difference
