How about this idea...... Jon's "new rig" goes on loonym's account here., I join you with some/all of my rigs, and the rest of the team make their choices. We supply Jon's soft key to those who wish to pile on to the score. We drive Jon's score to an astronomical level, way above DDT's, then we all chase that score. Something like 150 mill, BOINC points?

Even though "her" name is Jon's rig, do we have Loonym's soft key from WCG? You know we can get it. I did it for Scott. I'm willing to go after Jon's key. LMK.

I gotta ask you all....

Build cost estimate for a crunching version of this rig, you know the stuff...... processors that will get to 4.0, enough ram to do it justice but no more and the quality/speed needed just to crunch 100k

No worries about a case I will go upmarket and use plywood instead of cardboard ;) (It would live in a server rack really)

EDIT: I'd throw a rig on Jon's account and be happy I could!!

Dropping from 4200 pulled temps from mid 60's to mid 50's..

Memory: 6x2 gig PC3-10700 or better: maybe $500 and up..
PSU: minimum with as small vid card is a 1000W top unit: $380-$550
HS: TRUE's or better;$150.00
Case: At this point in time just the Mountain Mods will work..varies

I had borrowed 2-5970's for the weekend but one wouldn't work.
Finally ran out of time and tossed in my EVGA 260GTX..
Besides, on this board it SHOULD have a EVGA vid card.:up:

This MB deserves 4x EVGA GTX 480. Then we are looking at a setup that can break a few WR ;)

Even if they only consume 200 watts at load, it would be a little hard me thinks ;). That's an extra 600 watts :p:. He'd have to rewire to get everything loaded on a single circuit...

Yeah nobody needs 4 x GTX 480 unless you want to use it for GPGPU, but maybe some smart PR-agents in EVGA could borrow a few GTX 480 to you for benching?.

The CPU-score of your setup + 4 x GTX 480 should break a few WR. It will get the EVGA GPU and MB on the top of the list. Were are those smart PR-people when you need them?

My gut feeling is that Fermi cards are in such limited quantity that to even borrow one I'd have to go to the CEO of EVGA and get out my kneepads!:rofl:

I know a single GTX275 is about 20k / day for me. 4*GTX295 = 8*GTX275 = 8*20k = 160k ppd? Rough estimate!
