Ok, I've tried everything to get the 1333 strap to work, but every attempt results in a no POST situation.
shift jumper, load BIOS defaults, the only thing I changed was vcore to 1.5 to make sure CPU is stable at 333fsb, vMCH to 1.65, and default fsb to 1333.
no POST.
tried lowering memory, maxing vMCH etc with no change in results.
I've run 370fsb at 1066 strap, memory has done 450mhz cas 4....wth is going on here!?!?!?
Help appreciated...
What BIOS version are you using? I believe that you must be on version 1351 or higher in order for the 1333 FSB to work, at all. I am on 1378 and the 1333 FSB has worked on 1351 and 1378 for me. Both BIOS versions tested and OC'able.Quote:

That's what it is doing on IDT based boards, not sure if it applies to ICS also.
BIOS 1378...
The only thing that enables me to make it work is to use only two DIMMs (4 wont POST).
I've tried every mem option, speed, timings, voltage. With 2 DIMMs, it boots at 333fsb with 0% burn in.

his 393 fsb on e6600 means 9x393 = 3537mhz
your 400 fsb on e6300 means 7x400 = 2800mhz
I wish I could keep 3.5ghz prime stable :(

so how does it compares to his 3,6 on e66?
on his place I rather go on strap 1066 and 45-50% than 1333 and 18% as I was told by my friedn who got bad axe that on same mhz and strap 1333 he got little less performance than on strap 1066. same thing is on asus p5w dlx (wifi) and 4:5 fsb/mem multiplier, spi got much better result on 9*400 4:5 than on 401/402 4:5.
Niemiec, not sure why you would think it's a poor result. Don't believe this thread is about the highest clocks. Believe the man is looking for info on booting the 1333 boot strap. Maybe reread and repost some help.
Just got this board.. what bios should I flash to it? :) Will be testing it with E6300 and E6400 on 1333 FSB strap (hopefully it works).
use the latest bios - 1378.
1333 strap works fine on my rev. 305 IDT based board.
this easy pencil mod http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=117697 is worth doing. w/ 1333 strap i can hit 456 stable.

As far as what BIOS anything over 1304 has done me well. Havent really noticed much difference in anything over that. My biggest gains have been Vmch voltage and doing major BIOS changes in the correct order.
Which for me was to do any voltage or strap changes in recover mode, then turn off the machine, switch jumper then roboot. Often, if done any other way, caused headaches.

Seems Intel pulled the 1378 bios.... latest version now shows to be 1351, anybody know what's up with that?
1378 is the best bios so far. Rock solid. I wonder why it was plulled. Currently running a 6600 at 3.3 with default volts at 633 memory with 4-4-4-12

Thank you very much new_b I use this program already, seems that the little programs cause such a big troubles :mad: But the really problem it was a wrong situation in the CPU position.In my opinion, the problem it was the contact between CPU and MB, because i pulled the CPU out and then I put it back in the socket.After that I never so many problems.It remain one: sometime the computer wont boot :slapass: the fan work but no post.Why?It's stable in all tests today but tomorow morning , wont boot, i must to restart .What about S3 in Power management? I try with this, S1, but after one or two days it start again.

I know it adds about 10-12C, but I could be much relax if I could see REAL temperature.
IDCC shows -34C idle and -12C Orthos small FFTs under Vapo LS with my E6700, that looks about right. Rev 305 board. It was a bit high on stock air, but one leg of the Intel HSF turned out to be not seated properly.Quote:
