OK freaky stuff ! I got my PQI working and how ? I changed the CAS to 3. Now it does 289 MHz with 2.7 volts 3-3-3
And how much was the membandwidth performance sacrifice?
Well CAS latency has zero affect on Athlon64's luckily so it is not an issue. Bandwidth in Sandra is 7500. I also did 300 MHz but 3-4-4 sucked.
My OCZ3700EB did 237 MHz on this board as well.
Yea CAS isnt as important as it used to be. BTW Nice clocks Sheik :toast:Quote:

Just got a new MachII GT and it's letting me get a bit more top end from 3500+. But cant tak full advantage of it because now the old Ballistix is holding me back. I'm gona have to get some ram that can do at least 280. PQI might be the ticket.
Thanks :toast:
Well I hope to get my FX55 in the Mach2 soon as well so it is looking like 2.9 GHz 1:1 (PQI failed SuperPI at 295 MHZ) but I would have prefered 300 - 310 MHz x10 which seems the average FX55 + Mach2 OC. I love this RAM :)
What do you think about that gskill stuff ?
Well it was a toss up between the GSkill and the PQI, but as neither are available locally and I had to import, the PQI won as my regular supplier did not stock the GSkill otherwise I might have gone with it. My PQI is doing exactly what I wanted though so I have no complaints.
Good to hear. I can get the PQI from a store close to me.
Thats an awesome oc with EB, considering its not rated highly for this board. i cant get passed 220mhz.. im changing to some tccd ram.. ocz 3200 rev2Quote:

Well I read a review the other day of this MSI (can't remember where) but they used OCZ3700EB and got 240 - 250 MHz. Some sticks of EB are definitely better than others. Both my sticks max out at 260 MHz in single channel.Quote:

Huh ? Stock timings for EB are 3-3-2-6 not so ?Quote:

All of the three rigs don't do their work properly - even with tons of various hardware being used (by me in order to find a solution). I swapped RAM, HDDs, PSUs and just about anything else you can imagine.
One of the boards made it into BIOS twice, once into Windows and died
Another one was doing fine for 1 day - and after that it was BSODing all over the place
The other one was simply DOA
And (just about last week) I ordered one for myself, which was a mess too.
This is so frustrating - I tried just about anything....(and I was using only really nice components - like the OCZ 420W PSU for example)
I was the one proposing to use the MSI instead of the ASUS to them, since those customers like to overclock and are willing to buy RAM and other stuff (from me :D ). Now I'm sitting here with those three ducks in front of me and have to figure out a solution.
It seems as if the people who are getting a decent one might be happy with em, but this is definitely the last time I ever proposed to someone to buy an MSI-Motherboard. Their Quality Department must be sleeping or taking some pills :stick:
Anyway, just my 2 cents
I have no problems whatsoever, only problem I have is that I have a not-so-good cpu stepping I'm afraid, 0441 TPAW, it does 2.7ghz PiFast @ 1.74v @ highly unstable :D
The board doesn't give me any headaches :)
