RMA / customer support service in Australia is... painful at best, when u do get it :(

is anyone with a sossy rig, that resides in the USA, willing to help me out?
My proposal:
I send you my -quite likely- bad stick of DDR2-400 ECC+REG, you plug it into ur sossy mobo, confirm/dismiss whether it is truly DOA & then possibly RMA to Kingston

I have no other way to test it. :(
& RMA is *that* painful here..

The sad thing is you aren't exaggerating at all. I've had a mobo away for warranty for 3-5 months, and I've been waiting on an HDD for something like 2-3 months.

Obviously there's no such thing as the "Quick Boot" option ... unless that IS the quick boot :shocked:

At least with most server boots, they'll actually find problems with your hardware, as opposed to a desktop where it assumes hardware is fine until proven otherwise.

And yeah, who re-boots their PCs? My desktop and server stay on 24/7 and only get restarted for updates or driver changes (or when the nVidia drivers decide to crap out on my desktop. Although that hasn't happened much recently).

I did mine in a Lian Li PC62.. Nice EATX mid tower and that can be had for $100.00 but no PSU included.
remember you need a 24 pin and 8 pin and you don't get that on cheap PSU's.

Why do they need the extra power from a 24-pin and 8-pin? I mean they're only pulling what, ~100 watts from the wall, so are they really needing an 8-pin EPS? 24-pin ATX doesn't matter, since even cheap PSUs come with 'em standard, but most PSUs don't start using 8-pin EPS cables until about the 450-500 watt range, which isn't really that efficient for the PSU (PSUs tend to hit their max efficiency around the 50-75% load range).

I have mine on a 610w PCP+C so I guess it's very innefficient..:rofl:
