got the ds3p (luckily with heatpipe) yesterday and well I think it is a quite good board but I think I need a better chip to really test it out - my E2140 is stuck around FSB 380 - doesn't like it higher, even with 7er multi :/

Yup, looks like the new boards are rev. 1.x instead of 1.0
Hmm, either that was just a preproduction picture or it's true.
Either way, it's 6 phase on the ds3p, like the later gen p965-ds3 boards, which also didn't have cooled mosfets. Look at all the boards without cooling for the mosfets. For instance, my p5b vanilla and dfi p965-s don't have cooling, and the mosfets never got that hot. Maybe it's just the way it's implemented. I mean, from the start, those mosfets are supposed to dissipate heat to the pcb, instead of above the package
The "old" DS3P also had no cooling on the mosfets. But I think it has lost its beauty.

I hope this will not result in lower overclockcapacity (Don't think so, since the p35 is an energy efficient chipset)
thanks for that, I'll have a look on it this evening.
I wasn't sure if Everest showed the vdimm voltage (because I had one that was 2.1) but when I tried to go higher (expected 2.3) it seemed that it showed me something different but not vdimm.
nevertheless vdimm didn't seem to be a problem so far as my gskill was already running 575 with 5-5-5-15 with no errors.
My DS4 does exactly the same as yours with the E2140. I think we've really hit the proverbial fsb wall there, unfortunately.
On another subject, I'm having some audio interference with the HDA that can't seem to get solved and I'm getting worried it's symptomatic of grounding problems. I've checked if the backplate was touching anything, checked the mobo risers and even tried it with washers on. Now i'm getting instability and last night i had something in the case crackle loudly
Later i'm gonna take the mobo out of the P180 and swap components to see if i can trace this.. :/
New official F2 bios for the P35C-S3:

In regards the new revision to the P35-DQ6....this heatpipe design is the same as was seen at Computex in June, same heatpipes used to the X38-DQ6.
Personally i think it's not good and will give less thermal dissipation. It's cutting down and already solid design.
It's the NB heatsink that seems to have been alered the most, one of the MOSFET heatsinks have also been modified, dunno why they did this.
it's kingston hyperx pc11000 rated at 1375mhz @ cl7.
how can i attached picture here? sorry very noob..
but i attached the pictures to my local forum... (mod plz remove the links if it's not allowed).

does anybody have P35-S3? what max FSB can it reach?
ıf there is someone has a p35c ds3r and using vista ultimate 32 like me, please tell me if your system freezes while shutting down. I reformatted twice but it is still the same. If I restart, there is no problem but when ı want to shut down, it freezes while shutting down. ıt simply doesn't turn off the computer.
DQ6 easy to do 5.0 hrs Orthos lge ffts with 2x2Gb Corsair PC6400, only the beginning with this combo, more to come. ;)

DANG!! I am having issues with 4 x 1GB PC2-6400 OCZ memory!!! Forget my earlier post. If I use 2 x 1GB my system is stable. Once I use all 4 sticks, I get a very unstable system. I am not OCing, the memory is set to SPD and the system is set to "standard" performance. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thank you.
In speedfan it's the first vcore the real that it's going into the CPU??
P35-DS3P hitting hard fsb wall past 385fsb.
Other mem dividers except 3.0 ie 2:3 are not working
Any ideas
