Testing now, hopefully can bring some stability to my system at 3.7ghz

I got my P35-DS4 today, since my P5K-E died.
It was w/ F7 BIOS and I flashed it w/ newer F11.
In BIOS there are now "loadline calibration". Is that for vdroop? It should be enabled?
miahallen, tnx. I'll compare changes w/ multimeter soon...
Well so far at 3.8ghz with 1.48v on bios 1.47v under load. prime ran for 7 hrs last night with no issues, could not do that with prior bios at 3.6ghz. will try 3.9ghz tonight load temps are 64-67c max.
more to follow
OK, I did some measuring on my new DS4. BIOS is F11 (F7 didn't have "loadline calibration").
I thought that Loadline Calibration is for Vdroop, but I was wrong:
http://ceemic.pri.ee/c2d/loadline.JPG
...so it's for making real Vcore similar to BIOS value.
Is ~0,015V Vdroop big? Need Vdroop mod? Hmm, haven't even noticed, there is any Vdroop mod for DS4/DQ6:rolleyes:
I have a problem . When I power up 4 the 1st time my computer it turns on, then off and then back on when overclocked. This only happens when i turn it and there is no power at all in it (over night i stop the power to it completly like turn off the power source). And after that it goes perfectly stable. My system configuration is :
Q6600 @ 3600mhz (9x400 1.4v)
TRUE 120 cooler
Gigabyte P35-DS4 F11 bios rev2.0
Adata Vitesta 2GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 @ 2.0v
Gainward 8800GT 512MB
2x320GB Seagate RAID 0 for win and aplications, games
1x500GB Seagate for data storage
Samsung SH-203B + LG GH20NS10 + Benq 1650 optical drives
Sirtec 560w modular PSU
Antec 900 case.
Should I worry? Someone told me that the MB is verifying something about FSB strap and is nothing to worry about. I tested with Prime 95 for stability about 11 hours and passed succesfully.
10x ... I was worried that my mobo is defective ... almost thought about ordering another one ... :)
shouldn't be normal, my P965-DS4 was fine OCed, and my P35-DS4 was fine too until it no longer recognises increases in FSB and sometimes even boots up at 166*9, its set to be RMAed
Can i ask which sata channel is best for setting up a raid0, yellow, orange or purple? :)
I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I'm going to buy a Gigabyte P35-DS3 v2.0 very soon and I'd like to know something
Does this board offer any memory dividers? I don't mean multipliers.. For example, say I want to run the FSB at 500 and keep the RAM at 400. is this possible?
i currently do similar things with my P5W-DH, but I've come to a point where it's 425FSB limit is just not enough for me.
So, does this board offer a 6:5, 5:4, 4:3, etc FSB:RAM divider?
Thanks in advance.
Yes there are dividers. Im not sure which dividers there are, because in the BIOS they are just numbers like "2, 2.4, 2.5, 3, 3.2, 3.33, and 4".
I have a question as well. I have a P35-DS3R Rev 2.0 on F6. Are there any guides for what the voltages are in the BIOS? There is a "DDR2 Overvoltage" option where i can pick +0.1V, +0.2V and stuff...but none where i can pick a specific voltage like 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, etc.
Anybody know?
lowest is 1:1?
so there is no way i can get memory lower than fsb?
Hi guys, just bougth Wolfdale E8400.So far 4.15GHz stable.
Anybody else with new 45nm CPU?
is the loadline calibration only for the ds4?
As does DQ6 now.
hi, I have this combination E8400+Gigabyte P35-DQ6 rev. 1.0 but I have problem with performance in all programs... for exampe super PI 1M ... 30-34 s
On my previos CPU E6750 I´ve had 19s ...
I dont know where is the problem, but I think in BIOS...I am using F7e from you... but it didnt help.
The cpu cooler is installed correctly and RM clock didn´t confirm cpu throotling.
The temperature of both cores is constantly 35°C in idle and burn. (measured in core temp 0.96.1)
The OS is new and the task manager shows my 0% to 4 % load after loading, therefore I can´t see the problem in viruses or spyware...
Do you have the same problem or no?
Edit: CPU ID: 00010676 PATCH ID:0606
Anyone with DS3R and 4x1gigs of Ballistix pc8500?? IF so what is your bandwidth with lavalys everest write and read benchmark test. Also state your computer speed and mem timings
Looking for help with memory settings on a DS3R with 2x1gb pc2-8500 crucial ballistix
When i set Voltage for memory in bios to +0.4v, I only get 2.06-8v from sensors.
I have also raised the MCH voltage to +0.2v
If I revert to stock settings, with everything set to auto, and set the memory divider to 1:1, no errors. It also sets the memory voltage to 2v
Also in CPUZ, this is what is shown for the EPP, isnt it off? should it be 2.2v?
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y62.../pc8500EPP.jpg
Any other suggestions? Iam on the latest F11 Bios. And I am wondering if I need to RMA this board soon.
Thanks in advance
X.T.R.E.M.E_ICE,my E8400(VID 1.1125V)voltage set in bios
4.0GHz 1.35000v stable air
4.1GHz 1.39375v stable air
4.2GHz 1.44275v stable air
Mtex64,I have the same mobo and so far no problem at all.
So far, after 2 days of testing my conclusion is that I already rich the limit of 4.2GHz,with my memory(PC6400) and HSP(Zalman). With new memory(PC8500) and Thermalright-Ultra120Ex,can rich up to 4.5 GHz.Beyond this, only water or phase cooling can achive higher speed.
My super PI 1M is 11.266 sec with 4.2 GHz
Very good overclocking Guide for E8400 is HERE
So, any1 here figured out if the software (Cpu-z, SpeedFan, everest..) shows correct voltage with P35-DS3 at Vcore and Vdimm.
I was wondering if I set 1.4v in Bios and it shows me 1.36 idle in Cpu-z, is it real vcore? And also with Vdimm..
I can get my q6600 up to 3.8 stable 12 hrs prime@423x9 but not 475x8. I can run the 2.50 divider and run my memory at higher speeds while using the 9x multi but I have to loose the timmings and my overall performance decrease on all my benchmarks. what gives?
If I run my memory 1:1 (846mhz) with 4-3-4-8 (rest on auto) timmings my scores are higher. I tried to run the 2.50 divider with 4-4-4-12 timmings and systems crashed. I believe the memory speed was 1056mhz.
Which timmings could I use at 1056mhz speeds to avoid crash but still somewhat tight timmings instead of the rated 5-5-5-15?
since 1056mhz still below rated memory speed for my modules.
Any help would be appreciated
Feel free to comment on other settings to adjust
hlo.
and this is my super PI at 4.5ghz, I dont know where is the problem.
E6750 on default has a better time : 19s

I have the same problem on my DS3R, putting +.4 in BIOS only gives me 2.06 +.3 gives me 1.9, cant get more than 2.18 out of this board even when set to +.7 the highest in bios. not easy trying to overclock D9 RAM with that voltage.
Gonna buy a new board, this is my 3rd DS3R already, have RMA'ed the other 2 already, strange thing is the other 2 didn't have this problem  , if i set +.4 in bios i would get 2.25 in windows. latest one is a revision 2.0 others were 1.0
Yes this is a Rev 2.0 board.
Should I try and RMA it?
What a joke.
I'm not buying a Gigabyte board in the future. The fact that EIST/C1E still doesn't work and C2Ds have been out for over a year and half just really pisses me off. I get a good 3-5C or so lower with temps during idle operation with it enabled. I'm not exactly happy with my CPU idling over 40C when my room is 75F... I bought a DQ6 months ago pretty confident it would be fixed, because I remember it not working on my DS3s.
delta, what is your whole set up??
Problem is exactly the same as i have.
MY setup is,
q6600
Cosair 520hx
crucial ballistix pc2-8500
evga 8800 gt
F11
Does this look off?
This is the EPP profile for my PC2-8500 Crucial Ballistix.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y62.../pc8500EPP.jpg
I know about how pc2-8500 is actually 6400 etc.
Im talking about the voltage. How for 533, its 2.0v, rather then 2.2v
Yea, I have disabled all power saving options (TM2, C1E, EIST) and no execute too.
Iīve thought that too, but RM clock didnīt confirm throotling.
Do you know some other tool, which can detect cpu throotling?
Both, Intel TAT and throotle watch donīt work.
Oh, and one more question about P35-DS3.. what's the most stable bios? I now have F12..
Delta can you do me a favor?
Can you post what the SPD or EPP profile for your ram is from CPU-Z?
Im kind of curious.
Mine shows for my Ballistix a Voltage for the EPP of 2.0v at 533mhz, i wonder if that has something to do with it?
Other then that, the only thing similar is that we have am evga 8800gt.
Im thinking there is a bad batch of Rev 2.0 boards.
both my EPP profiles list as 2.2v, 400mhz @4 4 4 12 2.2v and 500mhz 5 5 5 15 @ 2.2v mine are the 6400 version though
Darb i have no idea, it is interesting to see that they programmed 2.0v into the EPP, wonder what the difference is? if anything it will just mean your revision sticks need less voltage then others. how do yours clock? same like other D9's?
For the most part I have gotten errors when trying to manually clock them. I think is due to the voltage issue.
At 1066 I would get errors, but since my Vdimm was 2.06-8v i think that is why.
If i leave everything stock, set my divider to 1:1, and set voltages to auto. I do get 2.0v on vdimm
None the less I will find out whats going on soon since i have RMA'ed my board.
Good luck with the RMA, hope you get a good board this time.
what are your settings at the moment?
I am still trying to decide what board to go for, P5E or wait for the x48 boards?
also eye'ing out an e8400 aswell ;)
No settings right now, board is gone! hehe
Yea But its weird Delta, from numerous boards, you are the only one who has this same issue.
If i was to get another I have no idea what I would get.
Maybe i should phone my suppliers and chat to them about this issue with the board. It didn't bug me because i saw the one BIOS update lists a problem with setting voltages for Vdimm and the RAM i was previously using was running fine at 450mhz @2.0v with 5 5 5 12 timings, so i thought when the crucial's arrive i will update the bios, tried that but it hasn't resolved the issue.
Yea I hope it is just a bad batch, but none the less I would RMA it. I mean you are PAYING for a board to perform a certain way right?
I actually reside in canada, and I actually called Gigabyte tech support. Other then the fact that the guy was a total :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::b anana:, he wanted me to send MY motherboard AND my ram to test.
I basically told him that I would to be paying to support their testing needs and that in fact if they wanted it, they could reimburse me for those components. He responded with, "How else are we suppose to fix this issue?"
I told him that I would just RMA the board, with the local supplier, and that if for some reason that did not fix it, I would just switch brands.
Anyways, Definitely look into it. You are paying for it right? If it doesnt get fixed, ask for the supplier to trade for a different brand. In my mind, you should get what you pay for. I am lucky enough that the supplier I deal with is usually kind enough to understand this.
I have been through the trouble of dismantling my PC four times already to take back to the suppliers( its a :banana::banana::banana::banana: getting it out with the watercooling), I know exactly what they will do, they will set the board up pop in some generic RAM boot it up and say see its fine, then i will tell them to up the RAM voltage as crucial ram needs 2.2v, which they will do, then tell me that the BIOS and speedfan aren't reporting the REAL voltages "its just an estimate" (they told me before that my constant rebooting upon starting up with the old board is because my processor is to cold, useless technicians)
Then i will tell them to get a DMM and measure the voltage (cant tell them i know where to measure cause then they will say i messed it up measuring incorrectly) which will mean i have to leave the board there with them for 2 weeks minimun, before i get another swap out (this is from the South African supplier of gigabyte)
I would rather go and buy a new board then get them to RMA this one and give it to my bro when the new one comes back.
yea that sucks.
I would do the same as well. But Luckily my supplier is fairly understanding.
Any suggestions for what board you would move to?
Maybe P5k-e?
Yea I tried F7-F11
F9,10 have memory address issues, but my voltage issue was still there
Also F8 has a PWM cpu fan issue.
I highly doubt this issue was bios related with the numerous versions I tried, and others really havent had this issue.
Anyone with an e8400 or an e8500 running on a DS4 Rev 2 board??
Need to see some Max FSB on this board...post um if you got um:up:
Do you know if there is a software that can read pci express bus frequency?
Sorry if this has been answered but I searched the thread first and did not find the info.
Has Gigabyte added the option to change command rate on these boards with the latest bios'?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks, guys, setfsb shows it!
Hello !
Anyone know if Gigabyte will release a bios for P35 motheboards to select half multipliers for Intel E8xxx processors ?
I have a P35 DS4 rev 1.0
Thanks !!!
Hello.
Anyone know if the next bios version of P35 DS4 will have half multipliers for Wolfdale ?
Hello everyone. This is my first post here.
I´ve a question to DQ6 users:
Do you use the PCI-E 12V connector?
I´m asking this because i can´t stable my quad at 3600 no matter the voltage i apply. OCCT tells me that oc is stable and i can run prime for 2h without errors but 3d marks crashes.
This is strange because i can do 3200 rock solid with 1.2375 on bios.
I´m using 7E bios.
I´m lost:(
Thanks
Hey guys i just had one quick question. I have a P35-DS3R with F6 BIOS. Ive got a E4500 and some Crucial Ballistix RAM. Now when i turn on my computer every once in a while i get a BSOD. The dump logs say it could be memory related.
Should i update to the latest BIOS? F11 i think..
where do you all download f7e bios for p35-dq6
what is fuss about new E mobos?
The download link is here, courtesy of stasio. :)
any news for new p35- ds3r bios
Hey everyone. I'm planning to build a machine with the GA-P35-DS3L m/b, and e8400 processor. Should I worry about only buying the recommended RAM from gigabyte's webpage? I was looking at some OCZ platinum that was on sale at newegg, but it's not listed in the "recommended" RAM.
Thank's Mysterfix,for mention my name.Btw,F7E for P35-DQ6 is available also :
HERE and HERE
Just want to ask,if somebody download bios from Gigabyte site F7D(released 01-02-08).Missing Fine CPU Clock Ratio.
Hope will receive from Taiwan latest beta bios soon.
BTK
F11 is available nowCode:any news for new p35- ds3r Rev.2.0 bios
HERE
2stasio: can you write me CPUID and patch ID?
I hope, Gigabyte will send you latest bios as soon as possible...
btw: I´ve downloaded the bios ver F7d, but it didn´t help me:(
Now I have back the F7E version
Iīve tried the cpu on Gigabyte P35c-Ds3r, the detection wasnīt good at 100% (comp boot at 6x333), but after I had disabled the c1e, tm2, EIST the cpu ran at 3ghz with good performance on this cheap motheboard.
for example ... superpi 1M = 15s
Also the cpu is good, and the motherboard p35-dq6 is good too...because Iīve tried E6750 in DQ6 a there was no problem ...
CPUID:0x10676Code:2stasio: can you write me CPUID and patch ID?
Patch ID:0606
Yeah, bios F7d is useless for Wolfdale.I realy didn't understand why they release this.
Send mail to Taiwan, but now is CNY there. As soon I get, will post link here.
