Really appreciate that guys, I was having thoughts of swapping out the pws to see if it would go away!
I only have a little Corsair VX450 in this on for now.
my board doesnt have the same dividers as the ud3p on various straps.
266 strap = 4:5, 2:3, 1:2
200 strap = 3:4, 3:5, 1:2
333 strap = 1:1, 5:6, 5:8, 1:2
400 strap = 1:1, 3:4, 3:5
which is the best for high everest bandwidth numbers and is 1333 memory 500 fsb on 3:4 divider 400 strap with a quad a pipe dream without active cooling on the nb?
my best everest bandwidth results so far right here:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=239757&page=3
edit: im also considering trying 266 strap 2:3 divider, is that divider+strap likely to be bugged or ok with my board?
just got a cheap quad today for a cool 200.00 a lot cheaper than it used to be
I gotta hand it to you guys, taking these quad chips to high fsb's a breeze on these ud3 boards..
I wanna thank you all for continuing to recomend this board, it is as good as you say it is.....

just wondering now whether to exchange this q9400 for a q9550 and pay the difference or keep it... but either way 4.0ghz=4 cores should be a piece of cake
update - this was done with ease
i love this board...sure beats the t2rsb plus for fsb

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!
in order to get this i had to run up a vtt of 1.46 and pll of 1.57, think i should back it down????? cause i already have been able to lower the cpu vcore from 1.44 down to 1.40 for 1.37 in Windows with the droop?????
i just want this cpu to last more than a few months.... that's al..
Thanks folks
Enable Load Line and that will cure some droop, unless you already have done that then cool. I think what voltages you have to use depends on the chipset fate dealt you. In other words if that is what it takes to keep it stable then stay at those settings.
You just have to keep everything cool and you will be fine. Check my post with my settings for 4.2GHz, I'm running this 24/7 have been for awhile now..
speaking of which, i just did a little minor tweaking and got 4.2 ghz stable so far, although photobucket and firefox crashed once - maynot be related but there you go.....
no bluescreens yet, just that first time when i forgot all about vtt
although this is a bit high, i personaly wouldn't run it at this around the clock, just for benchmarking, 4.0 is fine

I totally see where you're coming from. After a bit of a cleanup, and mounting the original heatsinks (except NB) and I've had a little more success, but I'm still fighting with temps, and can't really keep any lower than 71°C on the first core... the other three are about 6°C lower, with the 4th core (which runs at the 3rd lowest temp) being the weakest. 0.785 CPU ref (with 1.36vtt) seems to give me the best results, but at 0.760 the 4th core then becomes more stable, but the 1st and 3rd fail quicker. Changing vtt up or down a few notches and testing higheror lower refs also didn't seem to help much.
I reckon I've probably scorched this chip a bit, although it's own temps were reasonable, and rarely got into majorly dangerous zones, I did run very high pll & vtt a couple of times for benching/max fsb and CPU speed. Getting it stable at this speed is definitely not as easy as before. I've stuck with 1000/1000/0/50 in the drive/skew section, but I'm getting quite a few BSODs on shutdown, and sometimes within 2 minutes of booting as well...One of my HDDs are old so it may need replacing.
I'll post up my previously stable settings at 500x9, and wil be open to further advice, but I'm not holding a lot of hope in getting it back to the way it was and might have to back down to something like 4.4 now :( I guess that's still half-decent.
anyone here tried 266 strap 2:3? because im finding even 400 strap 3:4 isnt enough to push my memory, or maybe i just need more than 1.24 mch voltage to get more than 468fsb 1248 memory speed lol.
edit: unfortunately there is no 2:3 on the 400 strap for my board, just 1:1, 3:4 and 3:5 :(
no mate wont harm
im a year now on this settings still passing same tests...and also a vid 1,1875
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/5784/capturage.png
im just a little cautious with mch voltage because my last board(ga-p35-ds3p)somehow degraded very quickly with +0.2v mch, went from being capable of 1280 memory speed to incapable of 1000 in a matter of minutes. freak accident, temps or p35 chipset cant handle as much volts? i think the default mch voltage for that board was 1.2 while my current board definitaly defaults to 1.1v. anyone able to to do performance level 6 beyond 400fsb? im thinking of trying some benching with really tight timings, 8x425fsb 1133 4-4-4-12 pl6 200 strap 3:4. apparently defaults to pl6 at 333 fsb 200 strap 3:4 4-4-4-12 so just have to raise mch to 1.3v dram to 2.35 or 2.4v and just raise the fsb with setfsb correct? higher vtt than default 1.2 shouldnt be required at 425 fsb. i would use easytune6 but it raises fsb 11 at a time :/
If you put a good fan blowing on your nb you should have no problems. I ran 1.46v MCH with my q9650 for months, using the same exact settings Sergio is using. I took the blue gigabyte cover off and had a fan blowing on the nb hs.
Finally got my nb block switched over to this board and went back through my 4.5 settings to settle on these, for now. :)

Great overclock Hoss331. What DDR3 kit are u using?
Damn, those EP45T's really seem to play along nicely with quads too Hoss331, and that vcore is astounding! If I knew a little sooner I would have probably gone for one of these and avoided all the hassle I've had with getting a decent set of DDR2. Since mid-november I've been waiting on nearly £200 worth of refunds from a DOA kit and a pair of mislabelled dominator GTs
I backed down to 490x9 last night and CPU was stable with 1.40625 vcore (1.36 in CPU-z), so whatever damage I might have done, it doesn't seem too drastic. Just nudging up to 495x9 now, and I'm getting errors about 12 minutes into small ffts which I think is a good point to properly tune the refs and vtt as I've not been 100% on these.
I've gone about finding stability using my knowledge from the MIIF, which has got me a fair bit of success, but I would like to hear a summary of some of your methods in case I'm missing anything if anyone is willing to oblige?
So your GT's were not really GT's ?
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=8&subcat=817
Corsair are stupid (after my RMA anyhow), they shouldn't have made the GT's 1066 but 1200 at least, just as stupid as that new fast Voyager GT that claim is only bottlenecked by USB2.0, so why the hell not make it USB 3.0 now or wait a while.
No, I assume they were, but they were labelled 1.65v and scan had them rated at 2.1v. There's no info on Corsair's site but on their forums they stated 2.1v too. At the time, my MIIF vDimm only went as low as 1.8v and at 2.1v they threw out tons of errors. For a £120 4GB kit I expected a lot more performance and suport, particularly as these were supposed to be their 'flagship' category, but that appeared to only apply to the DDR3 range. Once again, I wa suckered in by the fancy looks & packaging. They might perform a lot better on this board, but I never got the chance, mind you, as I'm still waiting for a refund, I'm tempted to ask for the kit back to see if lower volts help more..
Here was what I reported on them at the time...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ight=dominator
I've just been testing how much mch I need for 495x9 and I'm down to 1.24v (and testing at 1.22). Once I went below 1.26v I had to raise MCH ref to 0.84 (using ET6) to pass 1024k fft. I know there's more testing needed, but it's helped me tune & learn a little more, plus it won't hurt temps!
I've been thinking of trying out a GA45T-UD3P and some ddr3 but hardly anyone is stocking them. You think Gigabyte may be coming out with a new revision or just dumping it?
I found a few v1.0 on ebay but if their going to put out a new one I should wait.
sure mate
