I would say, but this dfi board is so screwy! I am not sure what volts I'm actually, I have a multimeter, but don't know where I can check the line from.

my burn in process?Quote:
so can you explain teh burn in process a little to me?
Find the max fsb where you might get 2 errors or so per pass or less..and just let the sticks keep working with memtest all day and part of the night..
You don't want alot of errors..because that would defeat the purpose of the burn in.
At night I turn the computer off...next morning ..I try that fsb to see if its stable or not..if not..I will try to burn it in again that day...just keep repeating till it takes and then go up another level on Fsb..or if it never takes...just give up and say..ok I can do X fsb..because burning isn't working.
Then around 2 weeks later..check that erroring fsb..and see if it now works...Sometimes it does...sometimes it doesn't
bad news for me... i believe i got a DOA stick from newegg... :(
will have to RMA it unless i was a moron and didnt stick it all the way in the slot (which i know i did correctly...)
it would boot with both sticks, but when i tried to install windows, it would create memory errors... at stock speeds and timings.
TRANS am ...You using
Cpc on or off?
Tell us your settings for memory so we know what your using..
Thanks bro.....
next week its time for an neo2 .. no way for nf4 ... to expensive .. and no need for PCIe
friend has a problem :
Well today I got my hands on this babies and i'm a bit dissipointed. I can only do 240 at 2.5 - 4 - 4 -8 with 3.3V on dimm. I bought it from a guy who said he could do 240 2-2-2-5 at the same voltage. But he's an AMD guru therefor used different mobo as me. That's why i've opened another thread in here.
my settings:
CAS: 2.5
RAS precharge: 4
RAS TO CAS: 4
Precharge delay: 8
burst lenght: 8
memory acceleration: enable
Idle timer: INF
refresh rate: 64uSec
Mobo: Asus p4p800-e dlx
CPU: P4 2.6C
TwinMos AA4T, 44D
PSU: chieftec 420W
Tried both in single or dual mode, each stick seperatly.
What else to try?
Before this ram I had corsair 3200LL in who could do 250 2-2-2-5 in single mode with no problems, but only 240 in dual.

Looks like you guys are looking for the 512's now. So just an update if anyone is still looking for the 256's.
so are the none speed premiums showing up as utt also now? Im ordering a gig of some sort tonight so i might chance it with those. I just need a gig, im not going after the fsb here but if I get it then Im in luck....
good luck shroomy,Quote:

i think i got 2 crap sticks...
finally got to test them... er... one of them... one was just plain DOA...
the other wouldnt boot 200mhz 2-2-2-5 1T at 2.85v. and at stock everything, i got a BSOD... that MIGHT have been something else... but its not looking good for my sticks...
i think i may just return this stuff and get something else...
it takes at least 3.1 to get 2-2-2 out of these mem.
otherwise stick with 2.5-3-3
and cpc off does not kill performance on Intel like it does on amd, its much more minor, shut it off.
actually it will do 2-3-3-X fine at stock voltage and speed
with clockgen... my one non-DOA stick will NOT do 2-3-3-8 220mhz... at 3v. got a BSOD.
i also got a BSOD at stock speeds/timings/voltage once... so i think this stuff is going back. not sure yet wether i sould get replacement sticks, or get something else... :(

wow already 2K posts in this thread.
when these get back in stock at newegg, what chances are that they will be utt +BP pcb.
i heard in this thread that week 48 of speed premium will be 100% utt +BP PCB. am i mistaken?
Hey all!
Im a long time reader here and first time poster.
Ive been following this thread as well as the one from Eoc for quite awhile.
Seems to me that newegg is the only place selling them and the fact that they are literally sold out in a matter of minutes seems to amaze me.
The Eta is still 2-10 and I am anxiously awaiting their availability. I really want this ram pretty bad to replace my PdP Patriot EP Pc3200 ram.
Would it be stupid to just setlle for the TmIII instead of waiting for the Tmsp?
Also since the 256mb sticks are readily available [last time i check at least] should i just get 2 of those?
If i got 3 sticks i would lose dual channel, but i'd be getting a higher Fsb.
I have contacted [Alice] at TwinMos asking for another place to buy from. She says newegg is the only place that carries them. For now at least. She is going to Email me to see if i can order directly from the factory.
Keep posting! I love reading about this ram. Just makes me want it more and more!
Are u serious? Newegg is the only company selling them?Quote:

Buy single stics of TMII and check each one out..TMII is what im guessing The thread starter is saying he had? I nver could figure out which ones he was refering too..just said the cheap ones...LolQuote:

I bought a dual pack..one did 261 fsb..other did 240 with some errors at 3.3 v
That was TMII Modules
Yeah I read that at Eoc. Still no Email from TwinMos. I called them about 5 hours ago.
That was 261 at 2-2-2-11 right?
Its pretty sufficient enough for me. The Tmsp hits 275 at 2-2-2-5 right? Worthy enough to me for the extra $15 or so.
yeah it was 261 at 2 2 2 11 cpc on..
Check the vx/utt thread for the averages on the sticks...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...t=50699&page=1
Thing is u cant tell if they are speed or regular
It hard to tell if they are speed or regular..so much dam reading..like trans..he says his chips have no pb so im guessing that regular twinmos ..so that the tmii
Wow Amazing. Highest result is 275? How high does the ocz ddr booster go on the nf7? Looks like they start performing at 3.3v.
It's hard to believe. I've got another pair to make it 4 X 512MB. Put in my AS8 with 3.25v (read from DDM). I haven't done memtest but it's bencable at 250 FSB @ 2-2-2-5. This is totally amazing. All sticks from the same badge ~ 0503/44D.
Where did you order it from? I need a location besides newegg.
got em from local store here in Malaysia. They have a distributor here. A bit pricey compare to newegg ~ about $180 a pair.Quote:

I got 2 of those 512mb sticks yesterday, but they wont work with trcd set to 2, not even at stock speed! It runs fine in test 5 until about 99% of the test, then it caounts about 100 000 errors with the voltage set to 3,6v. I have tested 2 different BIOSes for my DFI nf3, but without any results. I have reseted the bios a several times to see if it was something wich "disturbed" it but no... Have anyone else experienced this kind of problem or know anything about it? (It is the UTT chips for sure)
Thanks
That is exactly the screenshot I've been looking for! Amazing doesn't begin to describe 2048 of memory running at 250fsb at those tight timings! Can someone try this on an A64 mobo and get 1T? Please post more benches and timing details. How does it affect game play? :slobber:Quote:

I also have those Twinmos Speed Premium 2x512mb. I can do 245 cl2.0 2-2-2-5 @3.17V memtest 5 errorfree. But I get lots of errors (about 193 per pass) with the default tests. Is that somethin to worry about? I also get about 14 errors at 100x10 cl2.0 2 2 5 @ 3.2V with a single 512mb stick ;/
i think not , i have a bunch of 4484 (week 48) and all use the same PCB's, which is KO-6633Quote:

yesterday a have 4 pairs of 512x2, which is : (all out of the box - no burn in - all in 3.8v)
1. 4464 = 263 mhz
2. 4464 = 263 mhz
3. 4484 = 255 mhz
4. 50x4 = 255 mhz
sadly i dont have a chance to test further on each pair - they all sold out just a couple of hours
the chip - print and give this to your local dealer/store - it might help

Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Got the auto-confirm from newegg about the availability. Tried to order 5 sticks. Kept going back to 1 till i realized i had bought the last stick. Jeez im gonna have to wait another few days. 2/15 to be exact, for another couple sticks.
Why is everybody still so excited about the TwinMos SP? I have a GB kit here and I'm having a lot of troubles with it, just like a lot of other dutch overclockers. A lot of dimms don't want to run 2-2-2-5 timings (just like ch5, it likes 2-3-2-5 better) no matter the voltage or don't get over 220 no matter the voltage. Are we having a bad batch in the Netherlands and Germany or something?
Got a question that I hope someone here may be able to answer.
I got 2x256 Twinmos SP from Bennah the other day and I memtested it error free upto 260mhz @ 2-2-2-6 1:1 and 1T @ 3.45Volts But it will not remain stable in windows. The only way I could get into windows was to run with the 166 divider.
Ben says he's tested these sticks on a P4 at 246 at only 3.1volts. So I am wondering if I am using the wrong bios. I'm currently using the 1.41b because I usually run TCCD.
would somebody else with a MSI K8N Neo2 please tell me which bios they are using for good results?
I would get a few and try out, but I had to remove my DDR booster and pop the TCCD back in to be able to get stable enough to post here :(
It's too much messing around to keep on hooking the booster up and then fiddle with a multi meter and then taking it all apart again.
1st rule:
never use a neo2 with a booster. (it will eventually die because the board uses crappy power components. huge flux in volts...etc.)
2nd rule:
never use a neo2 period.
3rd rule:
use a high cfm fan over the dimms and booster. heat is a huge factor when overclocking UTT and booster if using one must be kept cool at all times.
4th rule:
burn them in! not everyone is going to boot into 260 2-2-2 the first time. You should find the max mhz and max volts (try 3.2v first and work your way up .1v at a time, if you get more errors, or no gain in overclock, just roll the volts back to the last best stable setting) and then roll back a few mhz and loop memtest overnight while you sleep.
it's good to keep a log of memtest86 and all the settings you change in the bios. you can make an excel spread sheet and just keep track of your used settings. like volts, mhz, 1t/2t, vcore, chipset volts, drive strength, timings, etc....run test 5 to start out and loop a few times then roll on to some other tests, but usually test 5 is quick indication if it's stable or not.
make sure you are cooling the ram well while you do this. keep the case door open. then use your computer at the highest stable overclock and use your computer like you normally would for a week or so, then go back in a week or two and try to overlock them a bit more. in most cases they will reach higher a few more mhz. / also you will probably be able to oc the same speed but you will need less volts from burning in, this may contribute to higher speed since they are using less volts thus in turn will run cooler.
sorry for the long story, but i hope it might help some of you.
k, so the only option for Neo2 peoples is TCCD ?
Can I get a picture of someone who can confirm they have the BP PCB? ...because if there is no difference, I'm cancelling this order of SP and going with the TMII. :cool:Quote:

Damn that 2*512 kit is like 155 with shipping and tax for me. I have 2*256 BH5 now but I really want a gig. Will I deffinatly get UTT with the 1 gig kit or no?
Tip of the day: Would everyone with UTT see if they gain any MHz by going from Tras=10 to Tras=8 please
It may only be an AMD thing, or a clawhammer thing, or a nF3 thing, or a DFI thing... I'm not sure.
But I gain approx 4MHz by changing timings from 2-2-2-10-7-15 to 2-2-2-8-7-15.... now memtest STABLE at 260 with 3.2v bios setting :D
im experimenting in memtest UTT setting right now. i was always using 2-2-2-5Quote:

Well guys, I'm getting a new ultra d board and some more SP ram... hopefully, I'll have some good 260+ 2 2 2 action....Now I just gotta decide on what cpu....I'll let u guys know how it goes on an ultra-d and 3.6- 4 volts, and some good ole water action.hehe.
interesting on the 8-10 thing. 8 is tighter I thought it would have had the opposite effect but in reality I think I have the same thing with my VX. I get more errors running 244 in memtest at 10 tras then I do 8. Hmmm. Im running them on NF2 as well.
I always run with tras at 5, to my knowledge the A64 does like a tras as low as possible, not like the XP at 11 (or 10 as some users seem to think with the A64). If I'm incorrect I'd like to know ;)
Everything seems to be stable in windows when i run @ 2-2-2-6 @ 260fsb.
It's been primming for about 16mintues. How much longer should i prime before i could say it's 260 stable ?
rabbi_nz i think the reason for that MHz increase is something else ...
guys awsome news ... i found another stick that can do excactly like my good one
memtesting#5 for 2 hours at Dual channel at 259@2-2-5-2-8-15-2-2-1-1 1T ofcourse
bank interleave enabled with ONLY 3.2V on the DFI NF4 Ultra-D board...
whats the WR for 2x512 sticks :D ?
Klispe, I like to run 8hr-10hr.... then I KNOW my system is stable enough for daily use. 1-2hr prime stable can still cause errors in games, superpi, internet browsing etc after a while
Please share with us what you think the reason for the MHz increase is :DQuote:

have you tried putting it back from 8 to 10 and see how they clock?
a few other reasons that could change your OC could be a change in other timmings (Max asynch latency, read preamable,Trfc ...) they all seem to affect o/c ability (as well they affect bandwidth)
maybe they burned in and now they can do better ? :D
or they simply like 8 from 10 :D

I have changed nothing other than Tras from 10 to 8... maybe it is a socket 754 thing or maybe a clawhammer thing... I dont know, but 2 other guys actually tipped me off bout this so it is not limited to me. And it seems to improve stability on nF2 aswell.
They are actually programmed for SPD of 2-2-2-8 so it doesn't seem overly suprising to me.
Temps have risen for me too, but the only frequency to have dropped is at 3.1v... and it has REALLY DROPPED. I'm not sure if after a burnin these chips lose their lower voltage performance and gain top end or if it's just the additional heat.. but I have gone from ~248 MHz to ~240 when running 2-2-2-10 and ~242 with 2-2-2-8... strange.
I can actually do a loop or two at 267 2-2-2-8 3.3v but then I get quite a few errors... my temps are quite high (bout 30c+ case temps) so it likely the cause.... but all that will be remedied in the near future ;)
all my DIMMs are like those :DQuote:
