I am still trying to figure out why I can't run dual channel mode. I am on my 4th mobo and had upgraded my PSU. I think I need to pull everything out of the case and see what happens then.

Gigabyte needs to give you a life time free motherboard supply, I remember at the beginning of the year seeing you post about only being able to run single ch mem. If you are still running single ch on a giga board you are truly a loyal customer, someone from gigabyte needs to read this thread and see the issues you have had and make it right. I would have abandoned gigabyte long ago and joined zsamz in the "I hate gigabut" club. Honestly I would be extremely pissed off and never purchase another product from them.

its nothin new either the board works great or it has memory slot problems
piss poor quality control
but not bein able to run duallchannel is totally unacceptable

clo007 are they sending you the same board back ??

I like the board and its overclockability. I just wish i could get dual channel memory going. Funny thing is, I bought this one from a member here and he said he had no issue running dual channel mode, so I have no freaking clue why it would work for him but not for me.

I have not rma'd a board. I just buy new ones form people or I flat out returned to newegg twice now.



I am going to pull all my stuff out of my case this weekend and see if I can get dual channel running. I don't know if its a grounding issue, some sort of corrupted file somewhere or what not. The last time I talked to gigabyte about the board they were very unhelpful. I posted the email conversation far back in this thread on what they said.

I like the board but I want it to work to its full capacity. maybe I need to suck it up and go for a different manufacturer, but who? i was thinking Asus but I keep reading bad things about them too now.

For the q9550 it is one of the best boards around. You said maybe some sort of corrupted file, have you tried it on a fresh install? Not an image of an old install but a fresh install.

and as if most are honest if board functionin properly
u should rma 1 straight to gigabut
from the 3 boards i have touched only mine is perfect only issue with others is limited 4x1 clocking

What does install have to do with it? or am i missing something. Install shouldnt have anything to do with your boards not working with dual channel. Wont even POST with dual channel config right?

I've really hated my EP45C-UD3R....ever since I've moved from my old P5Q Deluxe I've hated pretty much every other board, but none was as bad as the EP45C! It has FSB holes all over the place and only a couple of the dividers work, and it's barely stable at pretty much any overclock.

However, I am still convinced that the Gigabyte series is worth trying so I've got myself an EP45T-UD3P. I certainly hope this works out for me as so far my 775 DDR3 adventures have been less than amazing :/

If this doesn't do it for me then I dunno what I'll do.

DDR2 versions > DDR3 if you read the thread only a couple of people got the DDR3 boards going, and all had a lot of problem to stabilize them.

i agree with Jor3lbr,you should have saved your self some trouble and just got the ddr2 variant,its about as solid as its gets.


clo007,man im so sorry to hear your still dealing with this issue.

Well I see people with the Ep45T extreme doing 500+ fsb clocks and leeghoofd seemed to do well with the UD3P

yea it can be done but the ddr2 board is the way to go.
ddr3 and p45's arent the best match.
