Try posting that in the Intel section, not in this thread to keep it on topic :)
People need more info like what you are using, RAM and speed, volts, vtt etc. also what cooling. but id suggest making a thread in the intel section if u want the answers :)
Ok here are my specs , Q829A on the E8400 , and you guys will prob laugh but Im all on air !
GA-EP45-DS3L
2x1gb Corsair DHX 800 C5 @ 1066 5-5-5-18 2.1v
HD4850 @ 725 /1187
E8400 1.392v 4530mhz @ 533 fsb(2132) 1:1 idle 34/37 orthos 54/58
13,970 3d06 , 10s superpi 1mb 10min 32mb
Antec 300
Antec Trio 650 psu
Xigmatek HDT-924 w / Dual 92mm 60cfm brushless fans.
Accelero S1v2 w /dual 110 72cfm brushless fans
I've been confused so far - I've had the pleasure of owning 2 E8500 (one C0 and 1 E0) and 1 C0 E8400 - plus my current e8600
And not one of those chips would even think about being stable at 4.5ghz - I tried up to 1.45v and to no avail - its not an issue of FSB by any means
All kinds of people are hitting 4.5ghz on much lower voltages and I'm not even stable at higher .... ???
am I just unlucky ?
Believe me it is'nt that bad bein on air as long as the Temp in the house stays cool..In the summer..i keep my house central air at 69c all summer long but my rig is sitting under a air vent so my two 120mm's blue Led's are sucking in the central air :yepp: the volts on your cpu is kinda high..I guess it will be on a gigabyth board but there boards have VDrops..I got mine at 1.350 in the bios but it dropped to 1.312 sometimes 1.280:yepp: oc'd 3.3ghz that's all...Is that a CO or a EO stepping you got? try not shot and hold to much volts to your cpu 24/7.i would'en like to see you run back to the store buy another:shakes:..I know the E8400 is rated at 1.362v max

I'm pretty sure the link below will help you out if you hav'en been there already

Good Luck:up:

There has been a new bios release for P5K board, so maybe Dlx will follow shortly...
@nefariouscaine
What cooling are you using though? Nb and cpu? water makes it a hell of a alot easier to get stable than air ;) volts also?
Ok went for my 24/7 power/performance/temp setup and am tweaked down for benching now with this chip
I only got it 4 days ago, and have a family and limited time to tinker lol :( though over 25+ yrs Ive had plenty.
Final settings in sig. I like that it does not get more than 10C hotter under full stress configd like this
Now onto the hardmod on the 4850 ! All cooling fans , heatsinks, and ect.. in place already , just have to find
a variable resistor to put in.
on the nb i have a small 40mm fan on the heatsink - running 100% - i have a temp sensor on that and even during 560fsb stress testing with the nb volts cranked up my sensor probe never hit over 50c which isn't bad as i had it cranked to 1.7v for those hours
on the cpu its in my sig - the Sun Beam Core Contact Freezer - but temps aren't my issue - its not like my cores are shooting up crazy high - i can boot at 4480mhz just fine - even run 1m pi some times - its just not stable and usually crashes - I could see how water might help if it was hitting 70c or so but its not even stable enough to hit those temps
now ln2/dice or chilled water - that might be another story with sub ambient temps
not sure if the board is the issue - I'm running 24/7 atm at 560fsb on 7.5x multi ofr 4200mhz - at 1.55v on the nb - about 1.392 vcore - 2.15v on the memory at 1:1 4-5-4-15 t2 - i think i have both gtl settings at .61x - transaction booster enabled at lvl2 - fsb ratio at 333
Need some help...
Currently attempting 562 x 8 = 4496Mhz @ 1.4v
E8400 Q829A234
Large FFTs stress survive more then 5 minues
but Small FFTs failed after 55 second (First Loop checkpoint)
stating Final Result Mismatch (rather then common rounding error)
Hardware as sig...GTLs all -50mv, NB GTL +40mv
what else should I try? vSB & PLL @ 1.61v VTT @ 1.28v
535x8 = 4280 Mhz pass 6 hrs ORTHOS @ 1.304v load...
hi guys,
i find a 8500 with batch Q819A103...
is that piece good for o/c?
looks like and old batch....
at the moment which are the best batch to o/c ( for 8500 and 8400)?
should i buy an 8400 or 8500? the mobo i have is "DFI LP DK P45-T2RS Plus"
thanks bro...
i will buy tomorrow an E0 stepping 8500
yes, my C0 3970 stabe. at 1.4 v
The E0 is much better
i buy an 8500 finally with batch Q746A580.
i will post some screen shoots later
Anyone seen Q836A368 yet? (e8400)
Got one here to test this week :)
C0's are not that bad they hit 4 ghz under 1.4
