Sapphire look to be releasing a version of halibut, they will not have tweaked it like DFI would have but im sure it will still be good.
CF-BT looks to be sidelined while they sort out the EXpert NF4, so this means it probably will not be released with a dfi logo on it.
Now...this does not mean someone else will not pick up on the design, and remember stories are now surfacing about RD580 which is dual16x and pin compatible with the RD480 i hear so we may have a dual 16x halibut sometime soon.
I was hoping to see CF-BT but in reality just seeing grouper and halibut on the market is pleasing enough for me. I suggested many aspects of these boards and ATI had the balls to just go with me and do them all.
I hope you enjoy the boards which ever name they have on them.
do you know what type of issues they are having with the expert?
Nice location for the chipset on this mobo.
Only one problem:D
A cap on the backside in the way for mounting.
I was going to slap on a swifty NB cooler.
Perfect location.

Bad location for the Cap, can't use a nut and bolt for mounting.:D

Piece of foam first OPP? then a plastic washer?
Yea I'll fix it up with some plastic washers and foam.Quote:

I do but it is not for me to comment on unreleased boards etc.Quote:

even better as in even better then the RDX-200?
im sure you arent allowed to answer this but i had to ask.
Hello
I just got my board this weekend and I started testing with my old bh5 sticks as soon as I placed it in my case. My first impressions are that it's a quality Dfi board which also have some downsides. First of all I couldn't overclock 1mhz with my sticks in the yellow ram slots. When I put them in the orange slots I managed to increase the ht frequency to 270 mhz and nothing above it would boot. I would have to increase the ht frequency from within windows with clockgen. One of my friends bought it too and he told me the same thing about his max. ht frequency which is 270mhz. I think this board definitely needs a good bios update because it has the potential to reach higher frequency levels. Also programs like clokgen, speedfan, ati tool e.t.c should be updated for this mobo. Anyway my second concern was how much would it overclock with my Geil One tccd sticks and my old sli-dr's tweaks didn't work in here and the rams fail to boot above 250 mhz. I knew that it would be hard to achieve 300+ mhz levels but at least I was hoping that it would boot in 270-280 mhz levels. These are my initial observations. Now I'd also like to share with you my final attempt to overclock with my bh5 ram.
By the way.Quote:

OPP why so much interest in 8-way interleave .....Quote:

Frankly the first impression was better than I expected considering other users impression and the immaturity of the Bios..

Nice experience ..just install windows, drivers and OC - no complications at all :)
I like the layout specially for phase, mosfets don't seems as hot as the SLI-DR, and is jumperless even for using 2 vid cards with Crossfire..
Regarding the OC capacity seems good for the 1st bios ..there is a clear improvement at least with BH5 sticks, need less voltage - with my good old Corsair 3500 I need at least 3.5v to run at 260Mhz 2-5-2-2 in the NForce SLI-DR, in DFI RDX200 only 3.3v is needed. :D

I strongly recomend running the sticks on the orange slots ..
Well not a bad first impression, let's see how it goes when I receive my MasterCard :D
that works for me, i dont really have interest in tccd personally...
New Review:

i think that review may have sold it for me.
I want it but how long will it take to come up with a new bios. Hoping to see something within the next 1-2 weeks or else I have to buy a SLI-DR.
im personally waiting for it to drop below $200, cant afford it yet, im just a few dollars over budget :(
kyosen did some nice stuff with this board.

Although attempts were made to run at the same memory timings, there are obvious discrepancies. From here: http://www.vr-zone.com.sg/?i=2893&s=9 you can see that the Sandra bandwidth numbers are over 200 MB/s lower on RDX200. Everyone here knows that the chipset has nothing to do with this on the AMD K8 architecture and it's strictly a matter of setting up the memory controller in the cpu. Secondly the fact that the CPU scores are slightly higher on the NF4 board means that the reference clock on the nvidia board is slightly higher or something is different in bios. If everything is set up exactly the same, the system benchmarks come out exactly the same within benchmark error (atleast in Sandra).
The 4% deficit in memory bandwidth and the slightly higher CPU scores on the NF4 board explains why the RDX200 is always slightly slower.

after 350mhz htt i get lockup :( but ist the first bios update , so lets keep hoping it wil only get beter ;) .
can some wanne els try the new bios to ? then we can see if it dos or not
I like Chipset location better. can lose NB fan unlike NF4 which sits under card.
Need to be cheaper though. $200 is crazy for mobo in this day and age.
Hi,
I also did little testing with DFI Lanparty RDX200 CF-DR and compared the performance to DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR. I used Mushkin Redline XP 4000 memory and the EXACTLY same settings with both boards.
Here are SuperPi 8M results:
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR
DFI Lanparty UT RDX200 CF-DR
Atleast in my tests CrossFire motherboard performed little better than nF4 board. I'll be doing some more research but my first impression is that this motherboard seems is very good for overclocking. I'll try 4 x 512 MB @ 1T next.
