I'm not sure if the MDPC white sleeving is available in the US yet, but you can try sending a PM to BlueAqua - he's handling the US shipments for murderMod.
OK ... I've spent most of the day playing with my sleeving technique and learned a lot. While it's still fresh on my mind, I thought I'd share it here (warning ... lots of pics).
I successfully completed sleeving of a Corsair HX1000 W PSU - not perfect but passable. Now doing a Torture Rack build (Silverstone DA750 PSU) where the sleeving will be very visible. My first practice run on the PCI-E cable:

It looks okay in the pic, but closer examination shows a not so good fit with the heatshrink and the PCI-E connector:

So, I tried four different placements of the heatshrink, and thought I'd found the answer:

The top example seemed to fit nicely into the connector, with no wire showing:

But, on close inspection, it looked like it wouldn't take much for the yellow/black wires to poke out of the bottom of the connector:

Dualbrain visited my worklog, and gave me a hint. He said to place the heat shrink further up on the pin. I doubted the wisdom of this, because I thought I would then have problems getting the heatshrink-covered wire all the way into the connector. But, trusting he knew what he was talking about, I tried again:
A little hard to see in this pic, but on the left most wire I placed the heatshrink all the way up the pin - to just below where the little tabs come out to hold it in the connector. It didn't work, wouldn't fit into the connector.

So, still figuring he knew what he was talking about, I tried again. This time, I placed the heatshrink lower, just below where a small piece of metal sticks out from the crimped wire - see middle wire in the pic above. It worked fabulously.
The third wire (bottom) is the same as the middle wire, but with the connector added. A peek into the bottom of the connector shows it fitting all the way in, and the pin is snug:

Now I'm quite happy, but it gets better. Liderc comes along and makes a suggestion to make sure the sleeving is placed very near the entrance to the connector - makes it easier to keep everything uniform. So, I had to give that a try:

Thank you to both dualbrain and Liderc! You can see my heatshrink still isn't perfect in the last pic - still have to improve measuring and cutting even heatshrink pieces.
And, I'd also like to thank Dangals for starting this excellent thread. And, of course, thanks to BlueAqua for providing the blue MDPC-X sleeving and heatshrink.
A couple other notes ... I used staples to de-pin my first PSU, because I quickly broke the tool you can buy. Now, I'm using the tool and not having much of a problem. It takes just a tic to remove the pins. Secret is to work at a table, make sure the tool prongs are on the outside of the pin, and pull straight out.
I know this is probably repeat stuff for many of you, but some of this eluded me, even after having studied this thread and numerous other resources!

I am trying to get some sleeving done here, but unlike you guys I plan to sleave the entire bunch together. My PSU is already sleeved and I just wanted to change it from black to chrome. SO do you guys have any ideas on where I can get chrome sleeves which are expandable and would go over the pins. I plan to sleeve both the PCIE, 24 pin, 4/8 pin and the sata connectors. Thanks.

@mav2000 - not sure about chrome sleeving - the only chrome version I am aware of is mylar sleeving however it is not a very thick weave and will show through cables the moment it is stretched even a fraction.
If anyone else has some input on this it would be appreciated :yepp:
@shazza - awesome job!! That mdpc stuff keeps getting better and better (now if they could just get a english flag on the website so I can order from zé german side. . .) everytime I see it.
@mav2000 - I bought mine from ppc's - and to be honest I wouldn't use it again. I think it's the standard stuff that everyone has (seen it on cableorganizer.com for example). it comes in only 3 sizes and if you want to individually sleeve your wires it's just too big. My only solution was to do 2 wires at a time, and even then I wasn't really happy with the final result. Depending on the bend of the wires, it's possible to see some wires sticking through. On top of that, the heatshrink didn't really like the mylar either, I had to redo several wires. I didn't use glue shrink, so maybe that would be better.

aka_GK: Just a good scissor and afterwards a little bit of "drive-by-melting" with a lighter and you are better than good to go.

It's a little bit tricky to put a wire into sleeving when the end isn't melted, but because of this sleeved wire with heatshrink on it looks more sleek, as I think.

Hi guys I have an Ultra 1000w psu it's modular of course but I was wondering about the 24 pin atx motherboard cable. I am going to sleeve my system right up as described in this killer guide.
Should I build another 24 pin male to male cable (if so any pointers) or do you know where I can find a male to male 24 pin ATX pre-built (ideally black).
I am building a tiny little Danger den Water Box system and the psu is right next to the motherboard so the cable management will only be 4 inches and I don't want to carve up the original atx any ideas?
I just hoping I could keep the original cables just that, original.

Ha very true it would be bad but ROTF with one would be worse. The 24 pin extension would not do me any good because I have a modular psu it must be male on both ends. So I told Richard at Ultra I would sing his praises or more specifically Ultra's. I sent them an email and explained my situation and they offered to send me an 24 pin atx the 8 pin esp and a sata cable. I was very im pressed with the customer service and told them so. I will let you know if the cables do arrive at my door. Either way I am very happy with my Ultra SLI x3 1000w power supply.Quote:
