To high ;)
But you mast change thermal compound, and screw down to max all screws (NB screws is important);) after that your temp must go down. ;)

Oh, ok then. Will go shop on this week. Hope, my temps will be ok.
Is anyone running a E8600 on this board yet, just pickup the board and E8600 with the new E0 stepping
I got one yesterday and am still testing. Stable at 440*10 @ 1.26v
450*10 appears stable @ 1.32 but temps are ranging around 70c.
Bios 0901
All settings other than Vcore and ram temp (2.15 for dominators) are at auto. I would like suggestions for other settings particularly to get to a lower than 1.31 vCore for 4500.
Thanks genec57,
Did the board come with the 0901 Bios? I was told that I will need to make sure the board is running at least the 0802 Bios to use this CPU.hoping that it will boot for me to upgrade to the 0901.
Also did you tighten your heat-sink screws under the board, I have read here that the NB runs hot because the contact is not good.
I just tighten mine just in case.
Im getting this board soon. I just saw the washer mod on the NB. Do I also have to add washers to the SB? And when the washers are already on do i have to really tighten the screws? Sorry, just making sure :D
Thanks in advance!
@xzulu ...im pretty sure you will be fine!! just check the temps from bios.. if they are around 40c your ok. ;)
did somebody checked how is the highest fsb with E8600 ?
Hello i have an interesting trouble with that motherboard.
I am now on stock speed, no overclocking. I can past any stress tests orthos, memtest, prime95 for hours. No problem but when i try to play games or 3dmark06 i would not survive more than a minute without promptly rebooting the entire system. I tried different Videocard, CPU, memory, PSU. The problem is exactly on either board or BIOS.
Look at these links, reviewers had the exact same problem:

Please help me
My config:
Asus Maximus II Formula
Intel E8500
OCZ Reaper 2x2gb 1066mhz
Sapphire Ati HD4870
WD 300gb Velociraptor
Silverstone OP1000
I had a similar problem with this board and an overclocked E8500. It would pass stress testing and then, with no warning, crash while doing simple things like browsing with Firefox with or without bluescreen. Even though it had passed stress it seemed to want more vCore which seemed to help. Since I have upgraded to the E8600 and do not have that problem at all.
I don't really think the issue is chip related. More likely, it is bios/chip related.
You might try the 0901 bios if you haven't already.
A second thought - have you run memtest86 on your ram chips? Also, try imcreasing the voltage on your ram a notch or two.
My present challenge is really crazy temps. Overclocking the E8600 to 4.5 I am getting temps in the mid to high 70s though my vCore is only around 1.35. Everything on the board is barely warm to the touch so I am thinking screwy sensors.
I have bios 0901. I tried all published bioses.
I tried two different rams(ocz and muskin at default speeds). and no solution.
In Turkey we dont have a RMA process that you have.
I can only return it incase it is broken. So i have to try to fix it
I'm having a strange problem with this board.
Approximately 25% of the time that I boot up my system the OS hard drive doesn't boot.
There's no LED activity.
I have to turn off my PSU and then turn it back on, then the hard drive boot's up.
I have checked the cables, looked at the SMART values with Speedfan, HD Tune they show the drive as fine.
I also have a fan on the drive, so i don't think it could be heat.
I'm using bios 802, could a bios update to 901 possible fix it.
Anyone have this experience, or a possible solution?
Sounds like a possibly failing hard drive to me.
Has any one used a Q9450 on this board and what results are you getting ?
what kind of hd do you have? this is common with the WD6400AAKS.
