If that price is correct, so much for being the "true" GTX 512 competitor.

Do you know what the price in euro was for the gtx 512?
If I remember correctly Tim paid 840$ us....(I know it was a limited edition...)
My point is anyting above 600$ us is way to much of course;I just wonder if the price in europe is always higher at first than the one in us?
Ppl who have the gtx 512 are not selling for less than $950 USD...But I'm quite sure it will not be a whole $200 more expensive than the X1800XT...expect the XTX to be $750 at max with the X19XT to be $700 at max. They're use the same mem chips remember ;)

lol it kinda expensive to stay up to date with these expensive items coming out
of course some shops will have this kind of prices, but the MSRP will be 649.99$.Quote:

The recomended price for 7800GTX 512MB is $649. Of course non of the shops doesn`t sell those for so less money cos of "Limited Edition" ;)
If R580 based cards will be produced in big quantity than recomended and real prices surely will be very close. Like $700-$750 price range is very acceptable by todays market. As usual USA has the most low prices. For example X1800XT is ~$500, in Europe ~500 Euro, here in Latvia (same EU country!) ~$660 !!!
IMO R580 and G71 will be produced in much bigger quantities compared to todays R520 and G70 Ultra. So the prices will fall pretty fast.
Some ppl have real plane simulators for their own - and those cost about $20-$25 millions ;)Quote:

Prices in Europe are higher. Especially in some countires. I for one (in Sweden, member of the EU) bought my GTX 256s for 840€/card (slightly more than $1015 USD), this was last summer. Granted, we have some of the highest taxes in the world (25% VAT...but that's nothing compared to our total taxes on income...effective marginal rates of tax of 73% (my dad) or more, are very common...then there are all the other taxes after that...personally, I'm studying but I work some on the side so I'm a low-income earner, yet my marginal rate of tax is 61%).
edit: Just realized this post was a bit off-topic, but my main point is: In some countries, expect xtreme price tags on R580/X1900XT(X).Quote:

Thx Nick.

Called it...11k'ish stock.
Knew there was no way it was pulling a 12k or higher on 05 stock. CPU bottleneck wasn't going to come close to allowing for that one.
Of course, that's also in an overclocked system. A completely stock woulda probably been about 10.5k.
Why they didn't just jump the multi by 1 and run the test rather than up the FSB to 300mhz is odd to me though, but whatever floats their boat.
Unfortunately... with it only beating the 7800GTX 512mb by 1,000 points, this battle may already be won.. There's no WAY that is going to outscore NVidia's 700-750mhz/1900-2000mhz 32 piped monster if it's only 1k higher than the 512mb GTX.
If NVIDIA clocked it's memory that high, then try not to get too attached, because unless you work in the business, you'll never see the card in person without sacrificing your unborn son.
Thats 1 3dmark 05 link, of which i couldln't give a :banana::banana::banana::banana: about.Quote:

The XTX should do a tad better yes. Seeing as some X1800XTs got between 800-900 more points in 3dmark05 at 700/800, the XTX should do 12k stock. However, if the card is merely an X1900XT with a clock increase, none of the people here will be buying one for sure.
The first to buy an XTX will be mobbed for his card's bios though :p:

Does anyone have 7800GTX 512MB to compare those synthetic tests ?
The XTX is simply not worth it for a 25mhz core clock increase. And if names continue like this eventually we'll have the XXXTTXXTXTXTX or something...:stick:
Nice card and 3dm5k scores if true at stock but goddamn $600 MSRP for the XT version? You KNOW the retailers are gonna price gouge like crazy so we can all expect to pay more like $800USD+...
I think I'll wait a bit for prices to come down and/or the G70/1 launch before I consider buying a new video card, this 7800GT I got is holding up to newer games pretty good at stock, and once I get my phase change on it from chilly1 I don't think there is a single game out ATM I won't be able to play maxxed.
It already is dropping. You can expect it to drop sharply just before the r580 and then stay level while the x1900 is gouged beyond belief.Quote:

Very nice! The good thing is drivers will only make it better :)
I know a few of you have the 7800GTX 512MB, would any care to do (or show us) a 3dmark05 run at 1280x1024? That would really remove the CPU from being a bottleneck here (to an extent). I mean this breaks 10k at that resolution. Barely even sweats from the almost doubled resolution (actually 1.667x greater, but close enough).
if x1900 hardlaunches with decent stock like it should dont expect prices to stay at or above msrp very long. I do remember see'n x1800 crossfire edition cards around the $570 mark the day they went retail or $30 below msrp. I dont even see the x1800 mastercards listed on any of the major sites other than monarch today(at $620). So i doubt we'll see the $200 over msrp we seen with the gtx512 or even the $100ish over msrp we seen with the x1800xt in the very early days(correct me if im wrong but i dont think i ever seen a x1800 over $640).
Price has begun to fall already.
Sapphire X1800XT OEM $489 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102629 .
$110 lower than MSRP

ATi has stopped production on the X1800's.. Keep that in mind people, they're shifting full force into the X1900's!
Basically, after february, either prices will bottom out on the x1800 or they'll be sold out completely.
