Come on Asus, i really want to play with BD. I really hope this bios will be available before BD hit the stores here in Europe.

Are those Bulldozer supporting bios' Raja?
just to tripple check myself the CIVE BIOS 3027 Raja's saying will work with bulldoser cpu in a crosshair IV 890 chipset boards?
thanks
Works on my extreme with a 8120, need to enable/disable turbo core in AOD to get rid of the core freq jumping under load but after that it seem solid. Only played with it for a few hours, but so far so good. These things sure clock ram better than thuban on 890's as well :)
Cool!! Thanks Asus and thanks Raja.
Now the million dollar question: Does a mobo flashed with this bios still work with Thuban or Deneb cpu?
Be careful pushing too high, I'm not joking when I say the 8pin power connector are now fused to my board.. Primed at 4750mhz 1.45v, testing out some imc scaling when things started to smell funkeh ^^
Ouch! That usually happens when contact is not firm enough. Perhaps the pins in the 8 pin connector were a tiny bit too wide/loose? Priming at 4750 sounds good though! Low VID is high powerdraw and loads of heat output. What temps did you see?
Yea, still runs fine :) Testing 4600mhz as we speak at ~1.36v, 80w less drawn from the wall compared to 4750/1.45v
Connector was plugged in all the way, and now its stuck there extra good lol.
Temps where 60+, didn't pay too much attention to it
Great Raja!.... Now I'm temped to go buy a 6100 to try in my C4F. :shakes:
Even though I have absolutely no need for one other than to play with... :ROTF:
J/K man, glad to see you guys kept your word and supplied a functioning BD bios for the older Crosshairs!
wez: Really sorry to hear about your board problems, that Sucks!
I noticed in the other thread you said your chip had a 1.25 VID and you weren't too happy with it.
I'm not suggesting you didn't go slow with v's, and it may just be that the older boards don't do real well with FX.
Reguardless, now that you're 8pin is burnt could you see how far it goes with low v's?
Thanks,
Dave
Priming at 4.75ghz 1.45v the rig pulled 600W from the socket, so no doubt these chips draw a lot oc'ed. And perhaps there are a reason the formula V got an extra 4pin power connector ^^
Working with lower volts atm. I keep pushing until it start to smell, then take it down a notch or two :D
RAM clocks much better than agena/thuban so having some fun with that, 2000 7-7-7 was a breeze, IMC doesnt clock that well, around 2700 seem to be the limit.
Works on my crosshair IV formula. Bulldozer performance seems dismal though, at 4.6ghz my fx 8120 10-30% slower than my 3.8ghz 1100t is in multithreaded rendering programs.
