Congrats on getting 3 6970s. Wish it were me ha ha. I have 1 card coming in a few hours.
Try the 10.12a hotfix driver = 5 x 1L Eyefinity. :)

Ran it on extreme since you said all max.
Thank you man!:toast:
Stock clock for this run?
Great spped, not too far off GTX580 tri-sli:

Yeah, stock clocks. They are far too hot due to poor airflow. The moron who designed the heatsinks must have thought that stacking boxes on top of each other would leave space in between...
I'm actually amazed that they are that close to 580 tri-sli! The minimum fps are dead even. O_O

All u need to do is wait for some waterblocks and cool these babys! Can you run 3dm11? :D
that for 3 cards? seems heaps low.. u using the new driver hotfix??? U gonn watercool these seeming as you mentioned there heating up ?
Don't be surprised.
For resolution over 1080p, for exemple 2560X1600, 6970 Crossfire or Tri-Fire will get ahead of 580 SLi or Tri-SLi with next gen graphic intensives games. It's already ahead in some of the most graphic intense games out today!
And this with early drivers!
Sadly, for lower resolution, the 580/570 SLI are better choices for now... We will see after a couple of new drivers from AMD if it stays like this at lower resolutions... But for 30'' LCD and higher resolutions, a 6970 Crossfire/Tri set-up is a better choice for the upcoming games. :)
For 2560X1600 or multiple screen set-up, then the 6970 Crossfire/Tri-Fire will get ahead with upcoming drivers. The 2Gb of memory WILL make a difference.
It's really impressive. For 300$ less (2X140-150$), at 2560X1600, a 6970 Crossfire is on par, and often BETTER today then 580 SLI. Impressive...
And I don't care for 1980X1200 and lower resolutions. Top of the line cards are for 2560X1600 with high AA levels, and/or multiple screens set-up. And there, the 580 SLi set-up is a joke for the price right now. IMHO. :)
wow....3x6970 very good performance
Oh man great results. You so lucky! :p
I can't wait to get my single (maybe eventually double) 6970's.
Are you having any microstutter issues? Any game issues recognizing Xfire? Pretty much, disregarding price/heat, is there any downfall to Xfire as there seemed to be with the 58xx series?
Anyway you can run GTA4 with MAX settings on all sliders and such? My 465 GTX just killed itself after 5 months of use and I'm thinking 570/580 or 6950/6970 as a replacement.
Edit - For games, I suggest these as it is the most taxing graphically at max settings:
GTA 4 and / or ELFC
BFBC2
Metro 2033
Stalker COP
Just Cause 2
Far Cry 2
CoD - BO
Crysis
If you can run it all at 8xAA (who cares about 4xAA with your power), 16xAF, MAX Quality with all optimizations turned off as a basis, then cycle through the DX versions if available and with and without SSAO, DOF and TESSALATION, that would give a clear picture of what CFX can do.
wow good to see multi-card setup
No microstutter issues at all. Don't see why people complain about that so much as I have never had it on these or my 5870's, and I never run vsync(causes input lag).
5870 xfire was good, the scalling was terrible though, so even though these cards are only about 20% faster than a 5870, if you go crossfire it is a HUGE upgrade.
Are you talking about metro2033 with that last paragraph?
GTA 4 and / or ELFC - Don't have.
BFBC2 - No way to benchmark, but it runs amazing.
Metro 2033 - Already posted benchmark results.
Stalker COP - don't have
Just Cause 2 - Is there a benchmark tool?
Far Cry 2 - ok
CoD - BO - don't have, but i can bench cod2 since its the same thing... ;)
Crysis - k
Wow, thanks for this "mini-review"! I figured to order some of these when they release Matrix/SOC/Lightning versions!
