Plus if the quote above is correct(there are no Atoms branded as Pentiums AFAIK),the Bobcat's x86 power may be the same as Penryn based ULV chips,which also work at lowish clocks. This in turn may be an indicator of Bulldozer's strength(since it should be considerably faster than Bobcat) :)

it is depending on the intended platform, yes there will be 25W parts, for the desktop budget series with higher clocked parts :DQuote:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Hans :).I suppose you meant KB (units) instead of MB? In anyway,Bobcat cores are tiny compared to Atom's,while performance should be in a different league(as AMD's stated ,Core based Dual Core Pentiums).
The pic says 512 MB cache instead of KB.
Also since that isn't a snapshot all the components on the die, it's hard to tell what is what. I'm no expert, but the top part certainly looks like it's a block of cache memory.

This also somewhat shows the focus of each company in regards to CPU and GPU, because if the grainy purple stuff to the right of the Atom cores is the GPU, then AMD is devoting over 2x the die area to GPU as it does to CPU, in contrast to Intel which devotes similar area to GPU and CPU. yeah, that threw me off. hans cleared that up for me. i thought the cores were the cache. it's not all that surprising though. almost every system has a bigger gpu die than cpu die here. when you look at what a low power processor like that needs, graphics performance is more important to the user thus more die area for graphics means higher performance.Quote:

they canmsqueeze 16 bobcat cores onto the same die size as 4 K10 cores...
Bulldozer is supposed to be 2 times larger than bobcat at a smaller process node so it really has to do some serious damage!
