I'm interested in this as well. However, the pic posted here and the pics posted by others show a very different story on the base. The base here seems perfect, where as other user pics show the pins in worse shape than most Swiftech XT units. For such a premium product this is not very cool.
So what is it? Are the (s)mashed up pins flukes or are they the norm?
I think it's the norm so far....mine has imperfect pins.
I don't think it's a big deal though. I didn't even think any of it until I saw the complaints in this thread :eh:
(i.e., it doesn't look bad in person, it just looks like some are offset a little)
EDIT: @StAndrew, the base and structure screws are arranged in a rectangle, so the base can only be rotated 180 degrees so there's only one orientation with respect to where the long/short faces of the rectangular pins face.
Well al the review sample seem to be "imperfect", if the reviews continue to turn out positive then who cares if it looks better in the official pics? It doesn't really change the surface area nor does it change the cross-section through which the water flows, so it shouldn't have a noticeable performance impact.
Re fitting size issues - is it compatible with compressions if elbows or 45s are used?
No clue...I think 45s are a very inelegant solution, but I'd assume it'd work :shrug:
1/2-3/4 on 1/2" BP fittings has the tubing touching with no clamps....very snug barb spacing in general. I think the Yellowstone is the only block that has tighter spacing than this one.
What's neat is that it includes some prolimatech pk1. In my tests this TIM proved to be pretty desirable over as5, mx2, and mx3. So that should save folks a few bucks...

Base is a rectangle cut... and not a square cut like the XT...
My base... wasn't absolutely perfect... but it was close... i think i may have bent a few with my brush and matt dry .. but u guys get the idea..

KL 7/16 compressions wont work and they have an outter wall of 5/8.
So bitspower will also be a no go on the 1/2 and the thick 3/8ths.
you can fit 2 90's on however 1 will have to be rotary to get the other barb on.
Meaning u dont have enough room for a swing on the barb on a 90.
Once its on my bed i'll give ya guys a rough idea how it does.
The best i can show u is current bed vs kyros... which is a KL-360.

Bad news about fittings, but well, there always are 45deg CF rotaries .. (though one has to add to block price of two not exactly cheapest ones when making purchasing decision :/ )
Good news about testing one :), i hope results will be out there in 2-3 months, when it's time to make decision if i have to pull trigger on HF or .. :)
Mid next week is my guess for results vs. Supreme HF :)

I have a question, are the blocks tested in an temperature controlled room? Because I can see quite a penalty against this block if it was tested out in the open in the middle of the summer against blocks which were tested in a cooler climate.

and small difference between water temperature in 0.5C
temperature sensors are calibrated, but have accuracy in the -/+ 0.25C
The good news is that is pretty, it hurts to have equal results :(
would buy a full nickelplated one if i could get it with no bent pins.. bah. "acceptable defects" shame on everyone saying this.. i do know it is kinda unreasonable but.. i got HK instead of xt because of this reason..
