So the fact that you do see 2.8->3.3Ghz change "lasts" for a few seconds doesn't mean it actually is the case in reality since Turbo CORE is said to change the clocks VERY fast and dynamically on various cores if there is thread bouncing going on in the OS.

Thanks for the analysis informal, that certainly is good news. Will try to re-run cinebench on stock clocks without turbo soon, but one thing's for sure, turbo core is working and it's great. I might be running this x6 with CnQ and Turbo :up:

I'm with informal in this one, it looks like Turbo is working great, and the freq. changes too fast for CPUz to notice. Those scores seem too high for 2.8Ghz, it must be working at 3.3Ghz most of the time, if not always.

From wich core CPUz tells the clockspeed? If it's Core0, and Windows is distributing threads to different cores then CPUz might not catch the speed up because the Core0 wasn't affected by it.

Good catch Andi64, that's what i thought too. Maybe i'll try to run cpuz for each core to really see if turbo is picking up on three cores.

yeah i kinda agree, i think this solution is more economical without compromising performance. actually i did 250 HTT with all settings at auto and everything were good. turbo went 4.125ghz :D

Thanks zeus, i believe the temps are quite off, ambient temps were about 29c but hwmonitor shows the cores idling at below ambient, at 24c. my x3 was idling somewhere around 34c at the same ambient temps so something is wrong here

I love the way CPUz reports 6 cores @ 3.3Ghz when turbo is active, in a way its true because 3 cores are sleeping and in a way its misrepresentation because all the cores are not at 3.3Ghz :D

i was thinking of waiting for the 95W version cause i like the idea of using less power, i shaved off 40$ a month by turning off my pc at night and using CnQ and a lower powered GPU (an overvolted 2900xt costs more in electricity than it does to just purchase, at 400$, lol)

but looking at that, 1.45v being good enough for 4+ghz is very promising, think u can stress test 3 cores being turbod? not sure what would do that right, i can only think of games that would use 2 cores and seeing if its still stable. i wouldnt need 100% stability, just stability while gaming, so either 2 fast cores, or 4 kinda fast cores.
