    SIX is Sexy! (Unboxed)

Took a day-off from work today to see if i can get some thuban love myself and i was not mistaken! though it took me an hour to get one after searching through six level/floors of pc shops.

okay enough with the chat, here are the pictures of a 1055T unboxed

will try to bench a few (cinebench and 3dmark06) and then compare with my x3 later..

Please ,check if you can change multiplier in to the turbo range manually :-) .Not Thuban bios revision would be nice also

hey el gappo, how's everything man? haha no no, my system is nothing compared to the guys at liquid cooling section

okay here's some cinebench R10 64-bit runs with the 1055T at stock clocks, turbo on, CnQ. I wanted to see how turbo kicks in and at what level of cpu utilization. I have done some screenshots during the bench run and after with core temperatures. Ambient temperature is about 29c in the room but not so sure though.

    System specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
    MB: MSI-790FX-GD70 Bios v1.10b8
    RAM: Corsair CMD8GX3M4A 1600 C8 at 1333-9-9-9-24 (all auto)
    GPU: 4770 CF stock clocks
    PSU: Corsair HX850

    Cooling System:
    CPU Waterblock: Enzotech Luna Rev.A
    Pump: MCP-350 (Laing DDC 3.1)
    Tubing: 3/8"-1/2" Primochill LRT
Heatexchanger: TFC Monsta with 140 YateLoon Medium Speed (1450 rpm)

    Cinebench R10 1 CPU 2.8Ghz

This SS is taken about 75% before finishing the run. Turbo Core kicks in occassionaly to 3.3ghz with 1.476v but lasts only about less than a second. Kicked in about 3 times only during the whole run and stayed much at stock clocks at 2.8ghz

    Score

    Cinebench R10 xCPU 2.8Ghz

Turbo core never kicked in and interestingly, vcore drops to 1.368v for the whole run.

    Score

Next, i will try find the maximum overclock with Turbo on and re-run cinebench. Just give me a few hours

What i meant was what highest multiplier for whole cpu you can set in bios and in software, for your chip it should be x14, but maybe because of turbo you can set up to x16.5.Maybe turbo has to be off in bios for this, maybe dont. Its very interesting and important to people who want to buy non BE chips, x13 on 1035T is kinda lowish, in example for me it would be impossible to go to 4ghz with x13 multiplier (mb craps out at 300HTT).
And as turbo can access these higher than stock multis, maybe they can be set manually in bios or software too .

stock voltage is variable depending on clock speeds AFAIK.

temps are pretty low, i'm not sure it's getting a correct reading. now running 240 bus speed all settings at auto, so far so good. will try to see if i crap out if turbo kicks in

oh okay, sadly no. multi is only upto stock clocks which is 14. i will take some snap shots of the bios later

Check with k10stat and amdoverdrive, maybe software could do it.
As for voltage reading, try software for your mobo it should read directly and not through bios.

I hope so, but sadly New Zealand gets new hardware pretty slow. In fact I still haven't seen anyone on my local forums with a C3 955 or 965

i checked amd overdrive but it stopped responding, i think it's not yet compatible with this x6. also checked k10stat but i'm not sure what to look for...

okay, i'm still runing everything at auto settings except for the bus speed which i increased to 240 which gets me to 3.36Ghz all cores, 3.96Ghz Turbo and 960Mhz idle.

Now on this run, turbo kicked in a couple of times (see SS) and lasted for a few seconds compared to when everything was at stock.

The chip must have plenty more in it with that voltage and your cooling!

At the screen you showed ,settings FID 12 and DID 0 gives you x14 multi which is stock, try FID14 and DID 0 ;-).
    Check with cpuz.

Hey ridney ,nice results and thanks for sharing! I have some good news regarding your remark about Turbo Core kicking in for a second or two. I checked myself and your scores for single core run in C10 64 bit are indeed done at 3.3Ghz and later on @ 3.95GHz . Your results are exactly 18% and 41% better than what you would get with stock 2.8Ghz with no Turbo CORE ON . You can check it by disabling Turbo in BIOS and then rerunning the single thread test again. You should score ~2970 points in that case (I checked it out with my K10 Quad @ 2.8Ghz ).
So the fact that you do see 2.8->3.3Ghz change "lasts" for a few seconds doesn't mean it actually is the case in reality since Turbo CORE is said to change the clocks VERY fast and dynamically on various cores if there is thread bouncing going on in the OS.

    Thanks for sharing m8!!!

Very nice pics, and a good analysis!

I'm with informal in this one, it looks like Turbo is working great, and the freq. changes too fast for CPUz to notice. Those scores seem too high for 2.8Ghz, it must be working at 3.3Ghz most of the time, if not always.

From wich core CPUz tells the clockspeed? If it's Core0, and Windows is distributing threads to different cores then CPUz might not catch the speed up because the Core0 wasn't affected by it.

    chip looks good

and its kinda funny that you set the speed to 3360mhz, and the turbo of just under 4ghz didnt cause a crash. guess they gave it plenty of volts, and most people can just buy a 125W 1055T and add 30-40 to the HTT and let the rest do the work, free 20% boost in speed and still good with the CnQ

    This

As I said in another thread, just open 6 CPU-Z instances and set each one to different core!

    BTW amazing scores!

    Thanks for the unboxing !

Its good to see that it will use a normal AMD heat sink. Shows that at stock at least the heat output will be under control and not require a new high end heat sink.
