Nice pictures heh... best of the lot, Gautam giving LN2 bath... lol
Good to know people had fun while I am still facing stupid VISA issues for Taiwan :P
funny story :)
good riddance :ROTF:
Maybe it was a bad idea to show the benching after the MSI event due to tards injecting negative comments at any oppertunity, MSI needed feedback/suggestions to improve the product lines to our satifaction and they were listening with both platform and bios engineers on hand to see where we had problems, that was the goal and highly succesful.
Some guys went to other manifactures, Antec was a sponsor for the psu's we used and we only had one lga1156 board on hand to bench with. MSI did a good with arrangements and putting this together, no disrespect was intended with what any of us did after the event.
Its good to see companies do something like this. Only way to get it truely right is to look over our shoulders and see what we see. Full marks to MSI for it :D
Yes - This was a great event that went well in my opinion, though more benching time would have been nice... It was great to be able to meet everyone and was good to finally put faces with names. I absolutely love it here in Taiwan - so much better than Des Moines, Iowa :p: - though I lost my voice and allergies were acting up I really enjoyed my stay here. It was great to see a lot of us on the same page with engineering feedback that we were giving and I hope that it helps out in the future products/BIOSes. IT Mall was very cool - everything and anything you need for electronics or PCs. Food was good and beers were huge!
very nice result brother..
P55A handled my i5 750 great...CBB was gone compared to non-A boards...but, with my i3 540, CBB @ -75C and CBB at -106C...although I also tested on an Asus board and the CBB/CB was exactly the same
I think it may be CPU dependent with Clarkbar
For all you people complaining about us benching on an EVGA board, we did this benching when we should have been sleeping on Tuesday night before catching our flight. Yes, MSI flew us out there and we spent an entire day working with their P55 boards. Everyone spoke to their GPU and MB R&D teams, I know I talked to the MB team for ~20 minutes just dumping all my thoughts on the board. Combine that over 20 benchers and you have a LOT of feedback. While I don't think the event was efficiently planned(too much time at the dinners!) I believe MSI achieved exactly what they were after. There was no chance in hell the MSI boards would have been able to achieve the clockspeeds we hit on the EVGA afterwards. However hopefully the feedback they received from us will go into making their P55 Big Bang series a solid set of boards. The components themselves looked and felt strong, the BIOS just wasn't there. Had fun, now time to fire off a huge email full of feedback.
more photos guys common :D
This was a feedback based session guys common....if they didnt bring over evga, giga, Asus boards etc it would be more of a letdown imo cause you can do specific comparisons and show things to MSI ppl
shame i couldnt make it but i had another event on at exactly the same time so I just couldnt fit it all in.....we had a heap of fun as well.....
good to see massman booted out .... lol j/k
Charles, in my humble opinion, it wasn't disrespect to the MSI company that afterwards you went somewhere else and bench with whatever you wanted.....
Disrespect for me is to upload the results from another company’s hardware into a thread of the company that have feed you down there.... :(
You could open a new thread with results from a benching session from another company BUT not in the same thread with MSI summit related... :(
HOW sure can you be that it's "bios related" the cold boot/cold bug problem so MSI needs asap Oskar Wu to solve it out?...
Maybe it's "hardware related"!....What could Oskar possibly do if it was hardware related?...NOTHING.... ;)
[Joke mod ON]
Think of this:
Oskar Wu was in ABIT...
WHAT happent to ABIT?
They closed their doors..
Oskar Wu was in DFI...
What happent to DFI?
They closed their doors too.... :D
Maybe this guy has a "bad karma" and wherever he goes, the company closes it's doors.... :D :p:
Maybe MSI doesn't want to close their doors so soon..... :D [/Joke Mod OFF]
hahah, nice pics charles :toast:
gee, calm down... what can be seen as pretty rude, no need to bash people giving you a headsup that you might wanna edit your post...
and im a bit confused why you didnt edit your post after people pointed out how it can be misunderstood...
rofl
while i did hear some people were dissapointed that they werent allowed to join the evga session, i dont think its about benching an evga board on an msi trip, but posting a nice score of an evga board in a thread that was supposed to be a thank you msi thread.
i know that charles didnt mean it in a bad way, just as you didnt mean it in a bad way when you said its impossible to get the same result on an msi board as on an evga board... its just not very polite and worded very well.
i dont think they did... the evga benching was done @evga i thought?
but interesting idea you bring up there... having a session with mixed boards would actually be really cool!
+1
very well said, i havent been there, but from what i heard, this about sums it up :)
My apologies for being a bit harsh, lack of sleep plus irritation, This was meant to be a humorous XOC thread not thank you MSI thread, yes we went and we had a blast. To be perfectly clear, Antec sponsored the event as well and we continued to OC at the Antec location. I was putting pics together of the MSI event for a separate thread after I get some sleep. Killer pics out the window of Antec of the 101.
Thanks Peter for the photo session, he did not like the idea of being set on fire so much. I also have ideas for future meetings, he is aware and game I am sure.
Thank you for paying the Swedish TV Licence, Massman!
Rbuass and E-Killer found some hardware to buy. If basic 5870 costs 700€ in Brazil, I kind of understand them :)

George, really, that is disrespectful...
He did amazing things with NF4, and has kept up......
Please feel free to narrow down which components, according to you, causes coldbug...
I dont know the exactly how many models ASUS has, but I do know that board/sale ratio isnt low.
Look M8....
All I said about Oskar, I was joking... :D
Only real thing is that he did a hell of a job in ABIT AND in DFI MORE..... ;)
Another thing is that by saying to MSI to hire someone else bios engineer, you're a bit disrespectful to the MSI bios engineers - NO?... ;)
It's like you said that they are NOTHING if they can't fix a workable bios... :(
You know, it's not that simlpe...
Hardware IS FIRST and THEN it's Software......
LAST are the bios engineers who are trying to "marrie" hardware and software together.... ;)
Another thing is:
HOW MUCH do you think that an employ can produce if he's paid 30$ a month (example)... ;)
He will do his job and ONLY and not go DEEPER into it because he has NO MOTIVATION for any more..... ;)
IF companies paid them MUCH, I asure you that EVERY ONE OF THEM, whould take his work at his HOME to get "deeper" into it... ;)
BUT as things are, they just DO their job and ONLY....
Think about it.... ;)
