There's that, and me not asking Unwinder for permission to use RivaTuner.

There's that, and me not asking Unwinder for permission to use RivaTuner.
well I guess its kind of a moral thing but at the same time if you are just making it easier to use a function rivatuner already has I don't see the problem.
Sounds like Unwinder getting pressure from EVGA?
Gave it a run using admin, works like a charm
It automatically detected the Load setting and I could set 1.2875v (my default was 1.2625).
I gave furmark a ran in fullscreen while GPU-Z 0.34 was loggin in the background and it a showed the voltage during load jumped to 1.2875, for both cores :D
I am adding it to my arsenal of my OC weapons :shoot:
Good that it worked out for you :D
AgentGOD - maybe add an advanced high voltage tab with a warning.
just add an extra warning saying anything above stock voltage will degrade or kill your card VERY quick :D
we know what we're doing here :D heheheh
i downloaded it, case the link gets pulled. I should have a new 4890 (or 2) by weeks end.
will report back :)
Ok, it seems that Guru3D has changed their verdict and decided to let this tool exist. But they emphasize again that it will be solely the responsibility of the user should any damages occur to his or her card(s) and not the author of RivaTuner's as a result of higher voltage/heat.
Why should guru3d have any say about your program? Rivatuner is a publicly released program. Anyone can code a GUI to walk users through the voltage modification... I dont see the problem?
Any possibility for 2900 series?
Well, personally OCing is not Noobs. Anyway how many times we hear a noob abuses the tweaking software thus screwing up their hardware then ask for help or attempted a volt mod on his/her hardware (gfx) without fully understanding the guide or risk thus screwing it and then cry for help???
IMO OCing comes with risk, all those who download the OC tweak should jolly well understand that. IF they abuse it and screw their card they are asking for it. No Pity is deserved unless it screwed due to a bug in a tweak.
I have tried the heatsink mod and vGPU mod to 1.4V and run 3dmark06, the highest temperature reached 67C with air temperature at 28C
If using a stock cooler with stock voltage of galaxy (~1.23V) the GPU temperature will easily get higher than 80C. So I think it is too dangerous to mod the vGPU to 1.6V on stock cooling.
there are some people that are on water or ln2 that would benefit from those voltages.
Updated to v1.2!
- Added user protection to disallow voltages > 1.45v
- Added advanced settings menu (right-click voltage drop-down) for disabling
confirmation dialogs and unlocking higher voltages
- RivaTuner detection is now more efficient
Sounds great agentgod :) its really nice to have someone writing programs who is directly involved in the forums
I think it's because most people are either very software sided (pure programmers) or very hardware sided (enthusiasts like yourselves). I consider myself to be part of both since I enjoy programming as well as PC hardware. And of course, you can't forget PC gaming :D
Thanks. Will test this out soon.
Will test soon On My 4870X2 And will report In End Of Week
I Hope It's Work For Me And My X2
doesnt work on gainward 4870 1Gb GS
it doesnt have volterra!!! :)
thanks for nice soft
I would think Gainward would use high-end VRMs but I guess not always :(
I'll be taking this program with me for some 4890 benching if I head to Vince's this weekend I'll let you know how it works for me
