those picks remind me why I hate so much d-tek fuzion :shakes:
Yeah, it's really too bad when the threads are this close together.
I think manufacturers should make sure to accomodate for 3/8" compressions at least.
Well the Fuzion and Fuzion V2 were made before compressions became realy popular. Alphacool doesn't have that excuse though...
I think the block will perform better than people expect. The Nexxxos XP and X2 blocks did quite well in some reviews but for some reason they never became popular. This review by No_Name for example shows them doing quite well. Another review from Fre3k in the German PCGHX magazine also sees them doing well on a 65nm quad.
Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that review before. I had seen the artcile in PCGHX where the alphacool blocks won a bunch of awards.
Contrary to what I thought initially, the base plate of the Yellowstone isn't identical to the previous alphacool ones either, it's just very similar. So yeah, we might be in for a surprise here. :)
It will be interesting to see first results when they come in.
Review Update with Alphacool Yellowstone and EK Supreme LT :
http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community...d.php?t=549569
Wow is all I can say. Thanks for the update Bundy... Damn it, does it come in different colors!?
ATM the Yellowstone is only available with the red mounting plate, but i´m in contact with the alphacool guys and they think about some color options now :)
wow, surpassing the supreme, and with better flow rates, good work...
BUT
now I'm more interested in those heat killers!
I'm waiting for tests by folks I trust...
I dont trust that test either, cant be that crappy Yellowstone is better than Suprime LT, as in other tests Supreme LT looks like one of the best blocks thats made. Bad mount or something like that in my opinion. Cant wait when I will get my LT to test on Q6600, maybe then I will trust other tests :D
is this available in america? i'm curious how it performs on my i7
Worth considering that this is being run in a really restrictive system or with a low power pump, OCZ Hydroflow with a flowrate of 162 L/hour thats 2.7 litres per minute 0.71 gallons (US) per minute, when Martin tested it with a DDC 3.2 with XSPC top it was flowing at 2.41gpm that is a huge difference. The Ek supreme is a similar story 0.55 gpm for the review 1.50gpm for Martin.
What this means is that on the whole these results are of little comparative value to people who run in higher flow systems to take that a bit further Martin saw a 3.5°C difference between OCZ and EK this review is seeing less than 1°C
So what this review shows is that the Alphacool block (and the Watercool Heatkiller blocks for that matter) perform well for low flow systems, since this is what a lot of the European water coolers are historically using it makes sense that a block is optimised for better performance at lower flows when targeting a European audience.
new tops mounted :)

Wow bloody love the last combo lol.
I hear from some that this block really is a poor performer, looks like nik had it spot on ;)
EDIT : No this block is mid pack, maybe you were thinking of Niagara [what a weird name].
Correct, the Niagara´s perfoms way behind the Yellowstone !
The Yellowstone is a very good waterblock and not far behind the Coolingking Heatkiller 3 :)
can i put it in a multi block loop on a single ddc3.2? or is it too restrictive ?
All testing by HESmelaugh and of course all credit goes to him =]

From the above data, I would say it's great for multi block loops.
